Oh wow, Jimmy Butler plays 37 minutes a game for the past 5 years. Big fucking deal
Kareem averaged 42 minutes a game with the Bucks in the 1970s Larry Bird averaged 38.4 minutes FOR HIS CAREER Michael Jordan averaged 38.6 minutes during his time in Chicago, over 13 seasons
Is this generation literally made of soy? I can't wait until Generation Z comes along and bullies the fuck out of you faggots
>70s basketball Lmao great way to compare the style then to now >bird You know bird ended his career early because of injuries you moron? >Jordan Wow comparing the GOAT to jimmy butler, your arguments are well thought out
Enjoy the (you)
Dominic Bell
you put your 2nd kareem point in the jordan section
Ryder Gomez
Best part is that it happened immediately after he got all the extra rest from the 10 year break they take for all star nonsense
Isaiah Lee
Do people have a different way of counting minutes now or?
Zachary Ramirez
Because we've been playing since we were 5 year olds in only one sport so we have over use injuries. Brainlet obsessed Boomer and gen x parents. They literally broke everything they touched including our government, economy, and their own children.
Julian Adams
Gen Z are ultra-soy. t. lives near a highschool
Angel Roberts
Why didn’t those problems exist before then?
You know boomers fought in Vietnam right? They had it much tougher than tide pod eating millennials
Adam Long
2010s basketball is faster and more physically than 80s/90s basketball. If you disagree you are a retarded nostalgiababby.
Justin Allen
tide pod is gen z millennials are in their 20s and 30s
Eli Sullivan
*physically demanding
Aaron Perez
got wrecked in vietnam
Michael Watson
Uhh there were more FGA in the 1970s than now. There were more possessions too
>Implying the millennials haven't been fighting foreign wars for 17 straight years Parents of boomers and gen xers to an extent didn't give a fuck if their kids played organized sports. There was little league, but not t-ball and travel ball, pop Warner leagues weren't really big yet and neither was youth basketball. Then you had a bunch of hard fuck parents with an 8th grade education who told their sons that sports were a waste of time and if you're going to get hurt it better be while you were working. It was a different time.
Liam Young
excuses. There are way more sports injuries now among millennialsoys than there were in past generation
Generation X was partially raised by boomers, they played youth leagues and college and they got injured way less
The American diet has become soft and it’s made everyone brittle. Look at Isaiah Thomas in the 1987 finals - he played a WHOLE QUARTER with a torn Achilles. Kobe Bryant shot 2 FTs with torn Achilles
Millennials as soon as something goes wrong, they run away. Fucking pussies
Charles Green
>TFW your grandmother lives comfortably off social security and her husband's lifetime pension in the house they bought with a single income while you had to go to college just so you could get a job that lets you afford a small apartment and will work until you die because retirement is a pipe dream for someone of your generation.
I'm not sure who fucked everything up, but I do know we fucked up somewhere.
Wyatt Peterson
Well your grandparents fought in Korea and Vietnam unless they were dirty immigrants then they were most likely starving where they were from
They earned it
Chase Lee
Global warming, no joke. Less vitamin d
Lincoln Walker
Didn't that, like, ruin his career? Internet tough guys are the worst. It was the boomers. They demanded expensive public policies and change in the 70s while in college then decided that government and taxes were the problem in the 80s. Literal coke head financial planning. Wonder why?
Cooper Reed
>Grandparents >Vietnam Are you 18 or did your mom and grandma get knocked up in highschool?
Ryan Russell
shitter diets
Sebastian Edwards
Nope, my grandfather was never in the military. I think he could have been drafted at some point but his number never came up. He worked for the county clerk his entire life, it was an easy job.
Not saying they were lazy and selfish or anything (they earned their own money and never took handouts) but I'm going to work twice as hard as they ever did and I'll have substantially less to show for it.
Easton Carter
Everyone was already getting injured and ruining their careers in the 70s and 80s.
Christopher Hernandez
we have more people in this country now competing for the same number of jobs. and we keep bringing people in from other countries. there is a surplus of workers. that's good for the big business owners but not for the common man.
Matthew Diaz
And yet somehow millennials have managed to set new records in every significant category in every significant sport.
Isaac Foster
True. We need to thin the herd with another world war.
Noah Sullivan
Birds injuries were from paving a driveway not playing to much
Alexander Morales
Get off the internet Thibs
Oliver Sullivan
people getting into sports today who want to become professionals are training 24/7 for almost 20 years. back then the athletes weren't worked as hard. overuse leads to injuries. that being said the athletes who are better at handling injury will benefit from the extra training and practice so they should become better athletes
Jacob Williams
>Lmao great way to compare the style then to now You mean the style where people were allowed to hack and smash you and it a baby foul every two seconds? You're proving his point.
Samuel Gutierrez
it's called doping, also tech advancements by sportswear companies. Back then you were running using Converse All-Stars
Lincoln Howard
wasn't a baby foul*
>change rules to make defense illegal in football and basketball >wow look at all the new records, AMAZING soy confirmed
James Brooks
gen z will be even worse you dumb cunt
Brayden Roberts
No proof of that. They will listen to Gen X and the boomers and they’ll understand
Ethan Ortiz
How do you explain track/field and lifting then?
Tyler Ramirez
>Listening to the two worst, most drugged out generations Lmao
Eli Collins
>grew up with internet and social media resulting in stunted social skills, less active lifestyles and a perpetual state of insecurity since their life has been aired online from a young age >most are obsessed with video games and not sports >idolise retarded e-celeb youtubers like the paul brothers and their vapid lifestyles >lap up all this trash xanax rap and will probably all be benzo addicts >fully indoctrinated by the lefty controlled media
can't wait
John King
Is this Thibs or Cowherd?
Aaron Scott
Except they also grew up at a time when everyone shits on millennials. No one shit on generation X when millennials were growing up
Brandon Mitchell
How is today's basketball more physical when handchecking is illegal?
Eli Adams
Lmao yes they did. Gen x has been called a lazy, ineffectual, and unmotivated generation since the 90s. Their greatest cultural contribution was grunge music and making heroin and suicide trendy again.
Jaxson Flores
>No one shit on generation X when millennials were growing up holy fucking shit were you literally born yesterday
Dylan Robinson
It wasn't as bad as millennials are shit on now.
Julian Gonzalez
The only people who shit on millennials are losers like cowherd. Others have compared us to the greatest generation.
Christopher Lewis
And President Trump And all of Fox News And Breitbart
You know, the elite of the country
Michael Williams
What have millenials accomplished other than making everything a pointless sociopolitical shitfest?
Parker Morgan
Boomers: Kareem Generation X: Jordan and LeBron Millennials: Curry
HOLY FUCK AHAHAHAHAHHAA
Liam Ortiz
>The elite Lmao >What have a bunch of 25-30 year olds accomplished Fighting a 17 year old war. Being survivors of rape at the hands of boomers.
Jaxson Lewis
Agreed. Guys are pushing their bodies further. Some are bound to break down because of it.
Landon Wood
i get great examples of this living in the bay area california, i live with my parents because im an autist
>parents own a home they purchased in 1998 before it was even built >decently big house in suburb tract housing, has a front and back yard, 3 bedrooms plus an office, 3 bathrooms, 2 stories, top elementary school a street down, etc >surrounded by asians >paid like 250k or 300k for it, their mortgage is less than 2k a month >similar homes in neighborhood selling for almost a million dollars >dude user just live on your own its so easy, what is rent here like $800 a month?
Caleb Nguyen
lebron is a millenial
Xavier Ramirez
kek this guy is ruining career after career
Ian Rivera
just one of those years. there are years with virtually zero superstar injuries and then there's 2017/18. it's a matter of probability and chance, nothing to do with soy
Jackson Peterson
america is a country designed for the top-end to prosper and the lower middle/bottom to lose. you have people campaigning against free healthcare (less money for big business/better quality of life for lower-end of society), gun 'rights' being respected over people's lives, no trade unions, minimal unemployment benefits, no left wing parties at all really, and it's ridiculously easy to get fired for doing not a lot wrong, little job security. it's becoming the same here and I cannot fathom why people aren't more bothered about it, and why some working class people literally protest/campaign to have their rights taken away from them and quality of life lowered
Gabriel Fisher
>playing to much >to Discarded.
Parker Lee
Millennials are still unbelievable trash though
Lucas Robinson
Michael Jordan averaged 38.6 minutes during his time in Chicago, over 13 seasons WHERE he rested/retired for 2 seasons and a half
Larry Bird had a back injury following him since he came into the league and was getting worse because of his minutes
Kareem was playing in a less physical era, shut up you are the millennial here, numale.
Juan Williams
Our medical technology has advanced and we now know when somebody is injured. So when they're in their 50's they won't be in a fucking wheelchair or unable to even remember their name. In other words, we care more for the athletes now instead of Joe Sixpack at home watching it on the TV.
Dominic Carter
Do Brazilians even know what a millennial is? Don’t you guys die before the age of 25?
Juan Garcia
>losing to farmer chinks with rifles Whoa.... so this.... is the.....power..... of......boomers....
Our military fucking glassed that place and all we got were a bunch of hippy protests. We were about to turn Hanoi into a moon crater but relented because it was decidedly too cruel.
Jordan Rogers
This. They should make 15 minute quarters. I want to see star players play 55 minutes a game.
Joshua Carter
>Kareem was playing in a less physical era weak bait
Dominic Bennett
Failed to contain the spread of communism which was the point of the war lmao boomers are so pathetic pad their stats but can't win the game :^)
Connor Wright
5 million dead Vietnamese vs 58,000 American deaths
LMAO
Oliver Watson
Hmm, they probably, I don't know, EARNED it. You sound like my dad that's been making excuses his entire life while hardly trying.
Christian Thomas
Isn't it because they're all doping and doping breaks down ligaments? The risk is worth it. Who gives a flying fuck if you ruin your career early if you netted a quick $50M-100M contract at age 25
Luis Bell
And 1 communist vietnam
Noah Reyes
lol the players you are naming are just survivorship bias. Bird destroyed his back are you retarded
Chase Gomez
Similarly
>Also in the Bay Area >Parents buy 4br 2br house in the early 90s >Street they live on is great, but literal walking distance from the fuckin' ghetto >House is a piece of shit, but they fix it up and renovate it over time >House costs probably in the same range as your parents, maybe even cheaper >Probably pay less than $1000 in mortgage a month, maybe slightly more
I personally know people paying that or something close for a fucking room. Whenever I talk to my parents about how shit is completely different, they just tell me to buck up. They have a point, but I fucking hate Gen X'ers and baby boomers.
Juan James
Who’s their largest trading partner now?i forget
We basically own them now so we got what we want
Nolan Garcia
he played and practiced too much, I'm sure that had a huge effect on paving his drive way
Jack Jones
the league was split in like 1.5, NBA was still better but lots of good players were in the ABA. His stats dropped off when the league folded
Angel Davis
How do you even injure yourself in the modern NBA? It’s literally impossible to play defense
Ian Rivera
It doesn't change the fact they're a communist nation, which the point of the Vietnam War was to halt the spread of communism, which >we lost. In the long run if the US was just going to own them economically then the war was ultimately pointless.
Thomas Myers
I'm gen X, but in the end I know that as countries we got a better understanding of each other. Vietnam and the US actually have a pretty good relationship now. As I've joked about before, if you want to go by team deathmatch rules we won by a landslide.
Andrew White
he is talking about how physical it is in a non-contact sense. They move faster and quicker, jump higher and weigh more, of course their bodies won't be able to last like the guys from decades ago.
Luke Anderson
>physical >non-contact
What the fuck are you talking about?
Charles Gutierrez
If you were capable of reading, you would see that I spelled it out for dummies like you in the very next sentence.
Jonathan Young
>more physical than 80/90 basketball You are the fucking moron here, spic
Jordan Young
this. people 30 years ago can eat shit without any problems. nowadays everything under the sun is toxic
Adam Ortiz
yeah. it's advanced so much we still don't have a cure for cancer despite the trillions we've blown on (((research)))
Gavin Jenkins
>people 30 years ago can eat shit without any problems Yeah except for all the premature death and cancer they had by the time they hit their middle ages we entered the 90s and heart disease/diabetes rates skyrocketed
Nicholas Harris
yeah man and then i listen to coworkers at my job (in the bay area) who are age range of early 30s, 30-32, talking about how they are literally living paycheck to paycheck when they have decent paying jobs (like $35/hour) working 40 hours a week (hospital). even this girl lives in richmond and commutes to our work in san francisco every fuckin day, she literally says she lives paycheck to paycheck and is basically dirt poor. its like, i get that you're 32 but what the fuck your parents live in the south bay, just live with them for like 6 months or a year to get some fucking money
its just crazy man.
Nathan Phillips
Arms in your face on or your chest, hand-checking is fairly harmless and doesn't lead to lasting injuries. It only starts getting serious with a broken nose or a concussion, and you can play with a broken nose (mask) and concussions were/are very rare.
The modern style is harder on the legs. But players were already getting injured back then.
It's why I think in soccer they should introduce hand-checking/ be more lenient with fouls done through the arm and act harder against tackles on the legs. A few bruises won't stop you from playing but a torn ACL will.
Steroids were probably already popular from the 80s-90s.
Carter Price
They played softer back in the day
Joshua Stewart
Larry Bird was fragile as fuck and only played 11.5 seasons
Michael Jordan broke his foot and only played 11.25 competitive seasons
LeBron James is indefatigable and indestructible even in his 15th season
Kareem was also special like LeBron
Austin Williams
>Kareem
lmao, back in his time the pace was slow, players were very bad and most of them even had a real job and basketball was just a hobby. Kareem is the overrated player of all time.
Ryder Brown
the pace was incredibly fast in kareem's era
Luis Perry
It's crazy out here in the bay, I'm a student right now paying 1300 for a master bedroom. It is insane how expensive things are here. kind of regret choosing to go to school in such an expensive city. I'm from SoCal ,and my sister and her husband pay $800 for a 1 bedroom place.
Robert Turner
>also special Kareem was the kind of guy who couldn't make the play-offs unless he had an ATG PG next to him.
Asher King
so? the man played 20 years and barely missed a game. that's the kind of special i was talking about. in the context of health and injury.
Jack Anderson
Especially shit.
Easy to go 20 years when you don't have playoff wear and tear for a few years because you couldn't do shit without a good PG.
Bentley Rogers
What's up with Spain being good at basketbal? I've never seen the connection.
Jaxon Edwards
>overuse injuries literally not a thing you fucking idiot. if you train your body and eat correctly you have zero chance of deteriorating ligaments or bone. if you get an injury its because you fucked up somewhere or because someone fucked you up, not because you used anything too much
Jaxon Bell
Dude its a difference of 5 minutes curb your autism
Jason Torres
are you angry because your parents settled in a nice place before it appreciated value and despite living in that nice place your entire life, you expect to pay the price for housing in this place as if it were still shitty and underdeveloped? are you fucking stupid?
Lincoln Richardson
the average dunce here basically gets catfished into voting against their own interests by brainwashing echochambers like fox news.
Most people just tune in and see TAX CUTS and nothing else, I'm not even kidding. The amusing thing is a little common sense will debunk this bullshit, okay so tax cuts...and mexico isn't going to pay for the wall so who is? Oh tax payers so really the tax cut is like 10$ a year or not at all unless you are a fucking millionaire/billionaire. The thing is all the people on fox news saying the little man doesn't need health care, don't realize that the people on fox news don't need it because they can afford anything. The middle class is slowly being eliminated from the states, and the middle class is contributing to it with their idiocy. Conservatives just want there to be haves and have nots.
And that is not even getting into all the other issues this country has on top of this bullshit, literally just campaign promises from a thief whose first idea when he got into office was to try and change federal law to allow him to steal more money and to remove regulations that keep big business from defrauding the entire fucking country. The best part is I don't even have to prove this because another economy crash will come in 10 years as a result, like it always does after deregs roll out.
Camden Reyes
Trump is clown, but socialists are legitimately retarded.
