When I was 19 a young guy, around 30, stood a few feet away for me, set down his suitcase and looked at me briefly. I remember that he looked sad. Not desperate, but just sad in that hollowed out way. I contemplated saying something to him, but I was taking too long and he wasn't looking at me anymore. So I decided to say nothing. Next moment, a train was passing through, and he jumped in front of it. I'll never forget the sight, or the sound. It's the sound that really got to me; I can't describe it. I shagged his corpse afterwards and fled the scene.
