New episode of Whovians is up - includes Rove namedropping Big Finish off the cuff!
Edge has a drawing of a DW showrunner triumvarate Did Smile go to shit in the last 10 minutes? Gareth has quibbles with Smile Smile is, it seems, connected to The Beast Below and The Ark in Space - radiotimes.com
It's what I get for being an australian on telstra
I can post new threads from phone tethering but I need to save the data for when I actually need it
I'm on Telstra too. Not looking forward to when this banner contest pass runs out...
I can't post new threads from phone data, I get the same IP range message. On Telstra too. Weird.

Oh yeah I keep forgetting you aren't actually Cloister. Cloi Cloi never seemed to actually post at the SEAfag time.
My phone's not on telstra which would be what makes the difference
Just in this last week suddenly I'm IP blocked from making new threads on Sup Forums, Sup Forums and Sup Forums - those are the only boards I've tested, I'm sure there's more. I wonder what kind of shitposter the mods were mad at
Reminder that I'm always going to vote no because I wanna see that dick
Is this on your internet plan or data plan?
phone data plan
I only have a gig a month and need it for when I'm on the train
>aren't actually Cloister
Yet - I'll regenerate one day.
>Cloi Cloi never seemed to actually post at the SEAfag time.
Crossing one's own timestream for day-round coverage.
Ah, that'd be it.
I lose reception so consistently on the train that my data's pretty worthless on it :@
Is there an updated version of this chart? The one I have is three years old at least.
Aww, thanks boys
kitty flanagan and tom gleisner were funny
>boys
Nah you're not alone here
Wew, that is pretty old, Dark Eyes 2 isn't even on there (GOAT structure).
I know there's a version of that chart more horizontally aligned, not sure if it's newer. We could probably make one anyway.
what's the best way to get the audiobooks?
When they cut to Charlie Pickering, that was the first time I cringed watching the show. But I just personally don't like him
Audiobookbay. You don't actually need to sign up for an account, you can just add their infohashes to your client.
Also buy the ones you really like.
audiobookbay DOT me
There might be a MEGA floating around, not sure
I've considered uploading my own collection to MEGA but I have a very specific way of organising the files that idk if anons would like or not
charlie's the least funny of the three
I can't stand him, he's so pretentious.

Wow, I'd never expect that from /lit/.
>tfw I've already seen it because Whovians shows Exclusive Clips
Looks good, throwing the lantern seems a bit odd though
Two episodes in and Bill is already a gorillion times better than that cunt Clara. I think she's great and also hotter desu.
ok
>and also hotter
Delusional.
She oscillates between great and unbearable. I feel sorry for the actress having to labour under the garbage script Boyce produced, she's genuinely charismatic but so much of her dialogue just falls flat.
That's the second time they made an internet history joke with capaldi
it wasn't funny the first time
>tfw this could be dollard's last episode because chibnall might want to start fresh with his own writers
>tfw this could be dollard's last episode because chibnall might want to start fresh with his own writers
>doesnt even have a /who/ reaction image for the situation
somebody get this boardie away from me
Yeah Chibnall thinking of emulating an American writer's room, with only new writers no less, would be a very different approach. Could result in kino, but I'll be pretty disappointed if the new talent of Mathieson and Dollard doesn't carry over. Much as I dislike most of Gatiss' episodes, I'll be disappointed if the tradition of him doing an ep every series ends too, as it seems it will from the interview he gave where he said he had no knowledge of what Chibs is up to.
I still want Charlie Brooker to write an ep when he gets time. Bringing back some other writers from Classic Who could be cool too. Oh, and I'd love Paul Cornell to do another ep sometime.
>tfw this could be dollard's last episode because chibnall might want to start fresh with his own writers
To be fair it sounds like chibbers has barely even started planning. It's not like he's assembled his writers team yet - it's entirely possible gatiss could still be involved
>dollard
>talented
Very true. He's got nothing else to do but DW doesn't he now that Broadchurch is done though right?
well he's got that holiday to take first
A well earned one too - I thought Broadchurch S3 was great, and it has me excited to see what he'll do with Who, even though I'm not a particular fan of his DW episodes. Perhaps he's the sort of writer that needs a lot of control to shine. Certainly, him shadow-showrunning Torchwood S2 resulted in a better set of episodes than the individual stuff he wrote for S1.
I'm all for Chibnall bringing in new writers, I think change is very exciting. But yeah it would be a real pity to lose some of the fresh talent Moffat brought into the show in Capaldi's era.
Just because you don't like her tweets/gender doesn't make her untalented, user.
And there's that play he wants to do, of course
I'm on Telstra and I post on my data all the time. I think 2 times I happen to have been assigned IP addresses randomly that happen to have had bans on them before, but it hasn't happened since early last year.
I thought Smile was a really solid episode considering Frank's last shitshow.
I also watched both episodes of Whovians and it's surprisingly good, plus quality Australian injokes.
Thin Ice looks interesting. Does anyone remember how we got the monster in the Thames idea so early last year?
Chibnall is a bullshitter.
Most if not all of Series 11 will already be written.
>Just because you don't like her gender
Ohhh of course! If you don't love her episodes you're a big smelly misogynist!
What were dollard's episodes?
WE
>I'm all for Chibnall bringing in new writers, I think change is very exciting. But yeah it would be a real pity to lose some of the fresh talent Moffat brought into the show in Capaldi's era.
Pretty much. Mathieson and Dollard are just writers though, they haven't showran anything, so it's possible they'll actually get brought into the writer's room, if he goes in that direction. But I don't see anyone like Whithouse or Harness, who have actually ran TV shows before, doing that - it's typically more of a "junior" position.
Face the Raven last year (Trap Street, Clara dying). Thin Ice this year (frozen Thames, frost fair, some kind of sea serpent thing).
I think he probably has his ideas sketched out more than he says - Moff is writing the Xmas special atm and he said he needed to know where Chibnall wanted the series and the Doctor "parked" before writing it, so they've got that much at least.
are both companions of the doctor
nice touch desu
4.25 million viewers overnight is bad, right...?
Quite bad, but people will continue to defend it.
>b-but the overnights!
>It's a complain about the ratings thread
I'm ready...
It's the new normal. People don't value watching TV live anymore unless it's one of those reality shows with timed voting
B-but Bill a cute. CUTE!
>it's a 'people complain about the ratings despite there being a drop across the board' thread
Are you seriously denying a massive drop in viewership in the last 10 years?
did you even read that post or are you that easily put into cognitive dissonance?
That user clearly said that the ratings drops are universal. How the fuck did you interpret that as denying a viewership drop?
>people stop watching live tv
>being surprised that this affects doctor who as well
wew lad
>being this delusional
>n-nobody watches tv anymore reeeeee
I see
Better than s9ep2, which only got 3.7 million.
I'll optimistically predict s10 episodes will have higher average viewing figures than s9. Plus Simm and the regeneration episodes will draw in more viewers as the series goes on.
>3.7million
JUST
ratings across the board prove they don't, with the exception of time-dependent realityshit
nah m8
I don't think we can underestimate the impact Simm will have on the ratings. As frustrating as we find the stuff like Facebook posts of people moaning "BRING BACK RTD AND TENNANT", there really is a sizeable amount of people who think that way, and will be very energised by such an iconic part of RTD's era returning.
Maybe I'm completely wrong, and it will have barely any effect at all, but I do think Simm will provide quite the boost. If he does pop up in the Truth Monk eps, as some unreliable spoilerhounds have postulated, he may be the secret weapon to combat the midseries slump in ratings.
>the Vardies murdered dozens of people
>they're innocent of this crime because they're justmindless machines following their programming
>but also they're conscious and you shouldn't treat them as slaves and they deserve the rights of real sentient creatures
feels messy t b h
>mfw simm's return in the finale results in 10 million live viewers
It's insane how much neater the idea people have kicked around off "the emojibots experience grief when that dude shoots one of them, then either independently, or with a helpful lecture from the Doctor, learn how to process grief properly and thus understand and get along with the humans" is. What was Boyce thinking!?
Heh, or at the very least, 40 people in /casualwhostream/
You have a point, assuming they market it properly
It's entirely possible that normies didn't recognise simm in last week's trailer since it was dark and he had a beard - I watched the episode with my dad and I had to point it out to him, and he's a moderate doctor who fan (he grew up with it and knows the show well but doesn't follow production news)
I'm sure a lot of them still don't know, and they need to in order for the ratings bump to happen
>What was Boyce thinking!?
"I want to make a "turn it off and on again" joke"
At what point did capaldi say "bollocks" in the last episode? I don't remember hearing it but they gushed about it in whovians
The humans didn't really even mistreat the Vardi. It seemed pretty harmonious at the start. But I guess it wasn't an entirely happy ending. The humans are just told to smile and forget about it. More than likely, the rest of the Earthlings won't be told about the incident after they wake up.
>mfw the BBC concludes that referencing RTD is the only way to success
I agree, and that's why I'm sure that they intended Simm's appearence to get leaked when they screened The Pilot (and thus that trailer) to the press. "JOHN SIMM RETURNS TO DOCTOR WHO" in the tabloids gets to people better than a 1 second flash of a bearded Simm in the dark.
Perhaps the NEXT TIME before whatever episode he first appears in will lean heavily on his appearance. Who knows? Maybe they'll bungle the marketing potential and barely advertise it more than a flash again.
>More than likely, the rest of the Earthlings won't be told about the incident after they wake up.
I find that kind of hard to believe desu. Every single person who woke up early would keep the reason their mutual loved ones were dead a secret?
Are we confident that Simm will be in the finale?
He definitely didn't, though "arse" has been in all episodes so far this series.
yeah m8
Well according to FCB, we all somehow forget that forests just.. happen.. whenever there's a solar flare.
Compared to that, lying to keep the peace seems very reasonable.
>this is a 10/10 in bongland
I wonder if there have been many complaints about it
Missy said "bitch" last series and got away with it. What are the watershed rules like in the UK? Which swears are allowed during primetime?
yeah nah
Why is she so much uglier on the show? Do the makeup people ugg her up for some uggo acceptance agenda?
I have a more reasonable explanation
FCB episodes aren't canon

Now even GB are getting in on the watersports business. We've gone fucking mainstream lads.
Bill is the best companion since Rose. Prove me wrong. You literally can't.
>watershed
Half of our GB accounts were banned m8
Yes. He filmed scenes for it on the streets of Cardiff. And to be fair, the #dwsr crowd kept it secret, only for it to be intentionally leaked by the Sun, which really pissed them off.
>Mathieson and Dollard are just writers though, they haven't showran anything
Dollard has, actually. She created a Welsh comedy-drama called Cara Fi in 2014. She also started her career in the Neighbours writers room and worked there for years, so she's definitely familiar with the position.
>I think he probably has his ideas sketched out more than he says
I think it would be impossible not to. I never bother writing and I've obviously never done it in a professional setting, but I'm constantly thinking of ideas and scenes and stuff. If you knew a huge show was being handed over to you soon, you wouldn't be able to turn your brain off to all the ideas.
Nah Donna is
Rose > Donna > Amy = Clara > Martha = Bill honestly
i agree, she's ugly, but cute.
