>Fox put out a press release laying out the schedule for all four sequels beginning with AVATAR 2 on December 18, 2020, and followed by AVATAR 3 on December 17, 2021. Then, there’s a three-year break with AVATAR 4 following up on December 20, 2024, and concluding with AVATAR 5 on December 19, 2025.
he's playing the game on hard mode now since he's already got the high score twize.
Nathan Rodriguez
Completely ruined any chance of this being a successful franchise by waiting too long.
Christ, the Star Trek reboot fucked up by waiting just four years for its sequel.
Luis Cooper
I can't believe the Star Trek reboot is nearly a decade old. It still feels brand new.
Elijah Long
is this seriously what the god of cinema is gonna dedicate the rest of his life to? Imagine the sort of original movies he could get done in all that time.
Kayden Cruz
I feel like Disney making Avatar World was a bribe so he wouldn't compete with the SW sequels.
Jaxon Brown
Careful, some idiot might take you seriously.
Ryder Long
They keep pushing the dates back further and further
Benjamin Bell
Bro, Disney NEEDS Avatar to be successful. They just opened a park dedicated to a decade old movie that no one really cared about anymore.
Brayden Butler
does anyone actually fuckin care about avatar anymore jim has lost the plot
I need chemo after seeing the cancerous faggotry in that pic.
Ryan Hill
He's right though.
Ethan Morris
Avatar World made good business sense back in 2011 when they made the deal, Avatar 1 was that monstruous success and Cameron had several sequels in mind. In the span of the 6 years the attraction would take to be completed, it was logic to assume that at least one sequel would have been released to keep interest in the franchise high.
Of course, we are now with the park about to open, the first movie 8 years in the past, and the sequel hasn't even started shooting so there is nothing to even construct some hype. Shit's gonna be a disaster for Disney.
Leo Green
See what I mean?
Camden Sanders
>2020 >11 (ELEVEN) years after the original came out
Why, just why? Why not make something new? Normies forgot about Avatar and stopped caring about a sequel roughly 7 years ago
Brandon Smith
0/10 You're just butthurt.
Owen Hill
There was also a time when films warranted sequels
Tyler Ortiz
How much did Avatarworld cost to Disney?
Daniel Evans
That's hilarious. He's really making a franchise - and they're hardly sequels to the "original". At this point, it seems like the first Avatar was basically just a concept for whatever it is that he's cooking up now.
Lincoln Morales
Unsure about licensing costs, but construction alone has gone over budget to approx. 1.8 billion.
Cameron Allen
Oh goody, I'm so interested in 3D movies these days, I wish there were more. /sarcasm
Josiah Morgan
Avatar is honestly one of the shittest films I've ever seen, why the fuck do so many people care about it. I want one good reason, and no "based Cameron"
Wyatt Perez
I WANT TO MARRY NEYTIRI!
Robert Martin
Butthurt Haters
Levi Nguyen
the cgi is so real
Josiah Martinez
Without its 3D gimmick it's a pretty average tree-hugging movie. When I caught it again on network TV I was surprised how much wool the stereoscopic effects pulled over my eyes. Unless Cameron can present them in smell-o-vision or something then these are going to be pretty lukewarm sequels.
Adrian James
No. That movie was forgotten about almost immediately
Brody Davis
Even as a bit of a tree-hugger myself, it's so heavy handed. If he wants total immersion he should release it only on Occulus Rift
Christopher Roberts
I know, I'm like, there dude.
Le based Jim!
Angel Young
>Avatar is honestly one of the shittest films I've ever seen
That hyperbole. Avatar was mediocre crap, but it is nowhere near the worst movie ever. I'd rather watch Avatar than any of the Transformers sequels, any of the Resident Evil flicks, or anything from Adam Sandler.
Oliver Thomas
Transformers was at least aware of it's shlockiness. Avatar presented itself as a "work of art"
Mason Robinson
Resident evil is good fuck you
Charles Wood
I wonder if Neytiri is curious of human culture
Matthew Kelly
>Na'vi supposed to be tall as fuck >JamCam soaring over the cosplayers
Effeminate smurflets BTFO
Leo Price
It will have more and you know it. Not that I want it to, but it will be a massive, unheard of success.
Anthony Bell
>tfw he could be working on actually good films all this time
Isaiah Harris
Honestly, I want to see if it works. I was impressed with how good Avatar looked in 3D (while every movie after it didn't come close to being impressive in 3D), but the movie itself wasn't that great.
If he actually manages to make his own "Star Wars" franchise successfully, it'll just once again prove that Cameron is the master. I'm not betting on it, at the moment, I expect it to unfortunately be the thing that he misses on.
Ayden Jones
aren't they like 3 meters tall? you wouldn't be able to satisfy one
Noah Bell
Probably not. They said in the movie that the Na'vi didn't really care about anything the humans could teach them.
Jonathan Bennett
That is so fucked. It really feels new still.
Ian Cooper
Cameron actually is a big guy, same height as his pal Ahnuld.
That's why so many hotheads get mad at him.
Cameron Taylor
I mean she is fucking a (former) human and they probably spend every day with each other. And Neytiri actually bothered to learn decent (if accented) english.
Robert Ortiz
>2025
How old will you be anons when Avatar 5 comes out?
I've been here 13 years now, shitposting on Sup Forums. I was 25yo when I first found Sup Forums. Will you be here on Sup Forums with me in 2025 to shitpost about Avatar 5?
I hope you are, I'll need validation for this life choice.
Gavin Howard
Cameron thinks Avatar has the same appeal as Star Wars.
Owen Cox
If they have a clit, you're all good.

The Na'vi children would be of the perfect height for humans to fuck, though.

What an asshole
Christian Hughes
We had these exact posts when someone would mention future Sup Forums in 2015.
You will never leave here.

It's not bad, but I liked it better when it was Dances With Wolves

your 60fps upconversions suck, and they impress no one
Gavin Price

Learn how economics works. One studio's success isn't another studio's failure, DCuck. The industry as a whole needs success in the days of streaming.
Carson Russell
>any year >spending a whole day here
Joshua Baker
I wonder what na'vi breast milk tastes like
Jace Foster
Yeah, that four year butthurt, we're all waiting...
Jackson Hughes
>implying Jim won't revolutionize cinema again somehow
Hunter Russell
Have you paid tribute to your God today Sup Forums?
Austin Cox
I actually made them to show how bad digital interpolation is and that there's no legit high FPS release. It was an old old thread. This was the worst part where the interpolation is at its worst, making the scene look like water colors. I'm not sure why you are so upset, kid.
Juan White
Blueberries.
Michael Taylor
sweet and somewhat fatty. Obviously warm. Maybe with a slight nutty aftertaste

The mark of neo-Sup Forums is upon you.
Cameron Ortiz
>it's about the message guys! look, we're spending money on "carbon offsets", we totally care about the environment!
he's such a shameless hack fraud he makes Snyder seem like a big guy (for turkish airlines)
Angel Thomas
>Abatap
Not him, but I've been sitting here for 10 mins trying to remember that trip.
>Abatard >Abatrap >Abafag
And, so on. I really think he was a paid shill for some company they hired.
>pic
Oh fuck, someone saved an image I made!
>still didn't get the shadow quite right
Josiah Cox

Fox thinks it does too. Fox never made money off star wars toys, but they'll make bank off of avatar movies and possibly some toys.
Michael Parker
>he's 38 and on Sup Forums
yikes

>tfw 38 is young on /diy/

Jayden Anderson
Holy fuck

i want to see a white woman get NA'VId
Jack Morris
It always seemed to bother Cameron that he never got a Lucas-level Star Wars type thing.
He really oughta just be able to be happy with what he's done, he's made some of the most successful movies ever. Why have this chip on his shoulder?
Lucas Carter
it would be extremely painful for her
Elijah Reyes
Na'vi have the same spiked dicks as cats. It's literally canon
Joseph Allen
Wow, Sam Hyde's comedy has become really experimental recently
Justin Thompson
>Cameron worked real closely with the art desing and animation teams to get Neytiri right >he gave them detailed requests to how she would look like >chief of all, he basically told them that she had to be fuckable
This is all fact, but let's go deeper into the rabbit hole
>Cameron now has an incredibly detailed 3D model of what basically is his ideal woman, his waifu >besides what we see in the film, Zaldana most likely had dozens of hours of recorded mo-cap (and dialogue, of course), doing training in the gear, practice, rehearsals, and stuff that Jim asked to do under the pretense of "goofing around" >since he is entirely in charge of the production and is always promoting having the top, cutting edge tech available, he easily re-directs funding into buying expensive, cutom VR tech for himself >now he can interact with his perfect waifu like it was real
And this is why I think he made Avatar.
The sequels? Are to get even better 3D models and more animation and voiceovers for his waifu, all while not spending a dime off his wallet and actually making LOTS of it thanks to the movie.
The man is a genius.
Gabriel Butler
>neyney gets her strap-on out to peg you >it has nails hammered into it sine that's what penises are like on her planet
Jacob Gomez
>Na'vi have the same spiked dicks as cats. It's literally canon
Brayden Garcia
I'm assuming someone somewhere has made Na'vi sfm.
Carson Carter
>Na'vi have the same spiked dicks as cats. It's literally canon
Nope, the male Na'vi actually have weird, internal genitals that unfold when sexually aroused, that is the canon.
Hunter Gutierrez
The voice of Nardwuar on the body of a fat Sam Hyde/Weird Al hybrid
Charles Phillips
humans are the angry manlets of the universe they wouldn't be attracted to us
Christopher Morgan
There are actually two porn parody movies on that very subject, directed by Axel Braun
Jayden Parker
a guy on DA has a good Neytiri and Jake model. But it's made in blender or something. I'm certain there is na'vi SFM.
Live action shit yeah, doesn't hold up imo
Carson Cox
For me is the underlying politics is what turns this from a bad flick to one of the worse films of the last decades.
It cant claim to be just an action film when is so "omgf white ppl are so evil"/"omgf natives are so pure and innocent" in its message.
Even Michael have some of its military guys be complete assholes.
Sebastian Carter
One question though.
Did that many ppl went to see this film or was this success based on that its 3d tickets costs like 3 times the normal rate?.
Is very weird how much money it made considering i dont even know anybody that went to see it in cinemas. Unlike titanic which everybody in my family saw at least once.
Zachary Myers
I know the reason why they've been pushing the sequels back so hard.
>Franchise creator James Cameron — who has stayed on the sidelines since directing the first two classic films — is the beneficiary of changes in copyright law. Basically North American rights to the franchise revert back to him in 2019. That is because the copyright reversion now takes place after 35 years, and The Terminator was made in 1984.
He is planning to put Terminators in the Avatar universe. The humans will return with an actual army, and expect Terminators to be part of their arsenal. Screencap this.
Imagine a dozen Terminator endoskeletons marching through the Pandorian jungle, shooting down attacking alien beasts, some of them tearing them up, while being under fire themselves from huge arrows. It's gonna be epic.
Christopher Green
james cameron no

I think the bigger issue is that in transferring his consciousness permanently to his Avatar Jake has effectively found a way to become immortal.
