Meanwhile the real cooper is trapped in the lodge as explained in FWWM, and helps Laura pass on.

That's one of my favorite things about the first episode. Lynch goes so over the top with it it goes from melodramatic, beyond retarded into actually touching.

Michael Ontkean had a certain charm to him, but he was a terrible actor and that character wasn't very good on his own, the bad acting certainly didn't help.

I have to wonder what it would have been like to have Robert Forster in the role from the start. He's a much better actor but the dynamic might have changed. It's that dynamic between Cooper and Harry that was so good in an odd way.

Thinking about this stuff is really making me wanna rewatch it, I ought to do it before season 3 starts.
