Why the US and leafs can't even afford good soccer teams if they're like first world and have money

Why the US and leafs can't even afford good soccer teams if they're like first world and have money.

they literally can win over shitholes like jamaica and haiti and made up countries with 1k people like trinidad and tobago.

we in general win against those shit team. We won the last concacaf cup you know and in qualifiers we were also the 1st or 2nd in WC qualifiers in general.
The tripadvisor and trivago was an exceptional bad surprise and not the general rule

>can't even afford
That's the problem

We have a ton of young latino kids who would be great, but soccer academies and the whatnot are inaccessible to anyone not from a foreign country or upper middle class white suburb.

It's so bad we had one guy, Clint Dempsey whose big thing was he was poor, but so good that the community banded together so he could afford training

>We won the last concacaf cup
CHI

I meant the CONCACAF Gold Cup
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CONCACAF_Gold_Cup
We won it in 2017

that sucks.

our national clubs make millions selling potential players from their local child academies to other countries and you can see every poor neightboohood has some soccer academia as a way to keep kids from entering gangs.

does that not exist in US?

we have school soccer

here in the us soccer is a sport for rich white girls. there's no strong system set up for anyone else.

>black americans
> soccer

basketball is the soccer of america , everyone play and it and for free

thats the point m8 we win them 99/100 times but this 1 time was the worst consequences

>free

public basketball courts? Suburb basketball nets which are cheap and everywhere?

I've never once seen a youth academy around here. Closest you'll get are little league/high school teams.
They don't have an AAU-like system like in basketball, where people make and fund teams with elite players, so there's no showcase of talent

You won a B team gold cup and you couldnt beat shithole centracas like Panama and Honduras away. Your team is shit and mlels is shit

people outside the us don't realize how little people care about this sport here.
it's like wondering why there aren't a lot of europeans in the nfl

They might care now; a brit just won the owl.

that doesn't stop the fucking world superpower to find 11 kids and a fucking manager to literally be better than made up countries in centro america.

literally african shitholes have better team than the US.

The market just isn't there to incentivize kids to be soccer players. Unless you are top 10 in the world, even a very good soccer player from any country doesn't make that much money. The highest paid Italian player in the world is G. Pelle, who makes 16M euros. So you can be a very well paid soccer player from a country where it's very popular and still make less than a middling NBA player or wide receiver. Anyone who is really good at soccer is still going to choose a different sport because soccer players everywhere just don't make that much money. We have the talent- soccer doesn't have the money.

Did you read this postWe are not that bad , we always did well in the last world cup and we had high rankings relatively

For example, Paul Millsap (a literal who) makes as much in wages as Paul Pogba.

But the chances of cracking into top leagues in the US are almost slim to none, while the chances of getting into a mediocre team in a mediocre league are a lot higher, which is what the US doesn't realize.
You won't be making Ronaldo/Lebron money, but you're going to get paid a good amount to live comfortable.
>millsap is a literal who
In terms of marketing, that boy can ball and has been an allstar multiple times

Americans don't like to compete with the rest of the world, they just like to think that they are better at everything without having to prove.

Because we're ice hockey and baseball nations

Millsap is an all-star

reddit reply, when our famous local sports started growing global sport competition was almost non existent

>does that not exist in US?
it does not

africans care about soccer. you see little african kids kicking balls around just for fun. here the only way you see little kids play soccer is if it's organized by their parents. there's a huge difference.
it doesn't matter how big a country you are or how much money you have. it's sports, if you don't have the mentality, you're not winning shit. stop trying to make this more complicated than it actually is.

Literally the worst neighborhoods in America have public basketball courts
