Veteranfag here, flew into that airbase on my way to Afghan in 2012. There is no way in hell we would just let Turkey storm the base, all of Nato would come down and fuck Turkey in the ass. Especially with 1500 people on base. If I was base commander I wouldn't let anyone leave base freely for those stationed there and I would start evacing the civilians right about now just in case.
If they did that to a NATO base then I think 1500 troops would make a hell of a stand before Rapid Reaction Forces from the UK or Germany arrived.
