I know this is more of a /trv/ topic, but its a very slow board, and Sup Forums is basically the only board on Sup Forums which I use, but has anyone ever thought about making a circle around the world by travelling via hitchhiking, volunteering, couchsurfing...?
I swear after I graduate from my college I will try to make it and it will look something like pic related. It will take me years of travelling with no or little funds. Is it possible?
What are the best tips you can give to my young, naive self?
Elijah Young
going through some of these countries is probably not a good idea.
Carter Brooks
I dont care about dying as long as I'm doing this. I'm aware of the dangers of some of these countries
I'm especially scared of middle america and (north) south america
Christopher Richardson
I do remember reading about someone who was doing this but then they were murdered in the Darien gap?
You'd also have trouble crossing between Pakistan and India.
Eli Robinson
>but then they were murdered in the Darien gap Damn. yeah I think I might take a plane from Peru or Ecuador to the US I really dont want to fuck around with these latinos
>You'd also have trouble crossing between Pakistan and India. I'm aware of the political situation, but isnt it crossable?
Zachary Evans
i don't think you'l get far without money. it's a nice dream, but hardly feasible.
Kayden Murphy
I used to travel alot with little budget, but only around Europe...but yeah I'll definitely need to find some volunteering and working opportunities. Especially in Australia, US etc. (if I even reach them)
Does anyone know any good sites where travellers can find them?
Jaxon Murphy
I'm going to find you and kill you

>Going though Iran, turkey, Pakistan, India, BURMA, Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, Indonesia, Ecuador, Colombia, Central America, Mexico and California If you want to live past the trip it isn't a good idea.
Jackson Jackson
almost all are okay actually - if you're a guy burma isn't dangerous at all, the affected state is the south-western state barely connected to anything
Adrian Phillips
I'm only scared about Ecuador, Colombia and Central America tbqh
Tyler Gray
northern turkey is a safe route and you'll see nice scenery but south asia and central america is extremely violent, and with no funds to bribe your way through them it might result in you finding yourself in grave situations
Jason Scott
>northern turkey is a safe route and you'll see nice scenery yup, I already went all the way to Trabzon. I had a great time and made awesome friends
yeah, I think I will take a plane to the US from Peru...such a shame Not sure about south Asia tho. What exactly are you thinking of?
Ryan Sullivan
>scared about Ecuador Ecuador is safer than most of the countries in your trip, so there's no need to be scared
Michael Watson
tell me more about americas pls
Mason Clark
I'm going to find you and love you :3
Jack Martin
oh lewd..can you tell me more about Central America and travelling there pls
Jackson Evans
>Uruguay Boring, only have one real city, it's one of the 3 safer LaTam countries, more than culture the good tourist places are nature >Argentina Even though most people think that Buenos Aires is the only good place, it's the other way around, Buenos Aires is a shithole full of shit people, staying there more than 1 day is asking for being robbed. The rest of the country is good, although the police is corrupt. >Paraguay I don't know >Chile A shithole, don't come >Peru WE WEZ INKAS AND SHET, Machu Picchu is the only interesting place, the people is going to be over you until you buy they things. You are going to be robbed. >Ecuador I know that it's safe and they use USD, but that's all, i don't know more >Colombia, Central America, Mexico Panama and Costa Rica are good, and safe places, but nothing interesting to see, in the rest you are going to get killed in the instant that you set foot in them >USA The worst of all, I doubt you can even go to USA and come back alive to your country
Ryan Hernandez
Thanks man!
Dominic Butler
>hiking through mexico and central america you'll either get CARTEL'd in Mexico or killed over your belongings in Guatemala/Honduras
Kayden Powell
tell me more friend, is correct overall?
Yeah, I think I will try to get to Costa Rica somehow and from there take a bus? plane? to America or close to its border
Jose Baker
Tunisian diaspora here , that travel from morocco to Tunisia or from to Tunisia to morocco is almost impossible.
Julian Jackson
how so? guess I'll just go to Tunisia or Marocco then..
Bentley Miller
the Alg*rian-moroccan border is pretty much closed. If you want to visit both countries you have to use a European port like Genoa or Marseilles as a transit port and the ferry tickets are not cheap. If you wanna die , you can try driving though the sahara and pass by the algerian mauritanian border
David Thompson
I don't know, I live in our countryside so our ''''only real city'''''' looks like an overpopulated shithole to me and Buenos Aires seems like a flat out crowded shithole >Uruguay we are indeed a boring country, but it might work for you to relax on the beach or in a house in the prairie before your long flight to Australia >Chile It's north always seemed to me as their worst region, same with Argentina. Those countries' south always looked much more interesting to me >Paraguay I see no point in going out of your way to go there (specially where it's pointing, to the middle of their desert) if it isn't for the IguazĂș Falls >Ecuador It's is safer than Mexico and Central America by far >Mexico and Central America you're asking to get killed, specially in central america
Luke Parker
You can travel without any trouble from North to South America if you avoid the Darien Gap. Seriously, passing there is nearly impossible, but the rest you can do it with just minor precautions
Jordan Davis
Panama and Costa Rica are incredibly safe countries. The rest of Central America is a murderhole though.
Eli Peterson
You actually literally cannot cross the Darien Gap if you're not in peak physical condition and have hired a guide to help you. It's literally a five minute walk from a nice asphalt road to a dark jungle from which you'll never escape. I've never taken one but I hear there are ferry services from Colombia to Panama.
Also, you can fly from another country to venezuela and back out EXTREMELY cheaply. It's actually cheaper to take the two flights than a straight flight from anywhere else. Just don't step outside the airport for too long.
James Gonzalez
>hitchhiking, volunteering, couchsurfing >route goes through Turkey, Iran, Pakistan, India Yeah, sorry but you don't know what you're doing.
Christian Butler
>ITT: Sudacas larping as first worlders
Colton Diaz
Ive already been all the way to north-east Turkey without any problems, and have a friend that went to Iran. Whats the problem?
thanks man, its really important for me to hear this stuff from locals
is Mexico really that unsafe?
Isaiah Gonzalez
Trying to cross through Pakistan is completely retarded, you need a military escort all the way through Balochistan. Crossing through Myanmar is probably hard as fuck, they have a bit of a genocide going on atm.
I personally wouldn't bother going to Canada, nd you should not cross the US, California is a shithole and the Flyover states are huge and boring. Stay in the South and go from there to mexico.
Central America is dangerous as fuck but doable if you want to, but you can't cross the Darien gap. You'd probably be as well off going through the Caribbean on or planes to colombia
You can't go from Morocco to Algeria.
Logan Thomas
>Whats the problem? The problem is that you're like that dumb kid in the movies that enters an opium field and gets his gf raped or his arm chopped off.
Constantinople is NOT the same as eastern turkey or fucking Iran.
Kevin Brooks
Well yes specially in the north but the center and the south are pretty safe, also take care in Central America that's the real shit
Camden Sanchez
>Caribbean on or planes *boats or planes
Gavin Anderson
>The problem is that you're like that dumb kid in the movies that enters an opium field and gets his gf raped or his arm chopped off. You watch too many movies
>Constantinople is NOT the same as eastern turkey or fucking Iran. Iran is probably safer than Gr*Ece
Of those countries the only dangerous one is Pakistan, and that's crossable if he gets the fuck out of Balochistan asap
Lincoln Sanders
Thanks for the info about Pakistan! Do you think there are maybe some better options where I can avoid it? Note that uncoloured countries are the ones I need to get visa in Croatia to enter them
btw I will go from the east
Cooper Rivera
>only going to hot places
Adam Ross
I made a map mistake with going from Australia to SA
Jason Adams
I'll definitely need to think this through much better. After all, this is the first day that this idea came to me, and I have 3 years to make it perfect
Thank you all in this thread. I will make my circle around the world somehow
Alexander Powell
>Thanks for the info about Pakistan! Do you think there are maybe some better options where I can avoid it? Note that uncoloured countries are the ones I need to get visa in Croatia to enter them Easiest way would be to get Russian and Chinese visas. It's annoying and completely changes your route but it's possible.
It is possible to get the Paki army to escort you through Balochistan to Iran, but it's really dangerous and I wouldn't recommend it. It's also scummy because you could get those soldiers killed. If you were going from the west it's a bit easier I think.
