By not being a pussy who lets fucking daylight decide how he feels

>muh sunshine

Fuck off, normie scum.

>Spain
>long+cold nights

Do you literally live on the highest mountain top or something?

Actually I like winter, it's the comfiest period of the year, the shitty part is that I'm always super busy with uni and other things.

>How do you guys deal with long + cold nights?
By being a depressed, borderline crazy recluse.
Works every time.

sleep through the night

hahahaha you live in fucking spain
must be hard with 10c and 10 hour daylight

He can't enjoy sunshine with his brothers now

Came into the thread to say exactly that.
Why don't you sleep? When you sleep more it means that you have to live less and that's great.

winter is horrible in the UK

it is always cold, but not too cold. its very damp. it is only light between 7pm and 4pm. so you leave work in the dark. its always cloudy.

you spend the entire day in an artificially lit office and when you leave it looks like its 12 oclokc at night.

I enjoy long cold nights.

Northerncucks dont realize that there is generally no heating system in the apartments

I am freezing my ass off here already wtf

> no heating system in the apartments
Why do you call it an apartment then? It's a shed or a barn then.

Honestly this.
Snuggle up with a qt and watch hulu with hot cocoa
Snuggle up with a petfriend and read a book next to the fire

If you live in a place that's actually cool, you go skiing or hiking in the snowy mountains.

Stop worrying about the sunshine, it's overrated,

>implying I use the heat in my apartment
I am not exactly shitting money here.

Also; lol at not sleeping with the window open for superior deep sleep.

I live in Pennsylvania which is at the same latitude as Spain. The winters are much colder, but the amount of daylight is the same.

Britain however is further north even than most of the populated parts of Canada.

fpbp

I mean, damn.

I live for the cold and long dark nights.

>Britain however is further north even than most of the populated parts of Canada.

>tfw I realized London is in the same latitude as fucking Calgary
brits should build a temple to the gulf stream.

tfw live in dimmest city in Europe

It's dark at 5 lmoa plus you feel like shit when you sleep too much

All of Europe should desu

The Gulf Stream actually has no real effect on Europe's climate (this is a popular myth). Europe has a mild climate for its latitude because it gets the air flow from the Atlantic. Eastern North America and East Asia get frigid continental air so their winters are colder despite being at a lower latitude.

In the same vein, the west coast of North America has milder winters due to Pacific air flow.

It starts to get better after Christmas, so there's that.

my hometown is further north than copenhagen or kaliningrad

I live in northern Sweden, Lapland.
We have polar nights here meaning the sun doesn't rise for several weeks (December and January is pitch black) in winter. And for most of the other time in winter months we only have 2-3 hours of daylight.
It's normally around -10 to -30 degrees C and very snowy.

I absolutely love it.
In summer we have midnight sun instead with 24/7 daylight for months... Useless. Winter is much better.

Polar nights are look horrible desu never truly light or dark, would be hell to sleep

Humans evolved in Africa, despite some evolutionary adjustments over time, we're still programmed to seek warmth and sunshine which is why darkness and cold cause depression. You're not a fucking caribou.

There's this invention called roller shutters, you can lower them in front of your windows to stop light from penetrating the room.

Polar nights are dark just like regular nights. Only difference being we have northern lights.
>pic related, taken around 14:00 in the afternoon, pitch black outside

sounds like a nightmare to be honest

BOTH CARIBOU AND SUN MENTIONED

youtube.com/watch?v=sLrOg1pvM40

nights in spain are not long
i only live in the geographical middle of this shithole and still only have around five and a half hours of daylight currently

eastern north america (near the coast) barely has real winter

At 40 degrees north, you still get eight hours of daylight on the winter solstice.

>NY doesn't have a real winter

Same here outside Kiruna.
Polar nights are the best.
>never truly light or dark
What? It's a bit gloomy during the day but as dark as it can be during the night or about 20 hours per day.

The pic is the road I take home every day, this was today at 13:00. About as bright the days get right now.

The Upper Midwest and New England sure do, they get Canadian air and major snowfalls every year.

This is why northerners are insane drunks...

My bedroom / battle station gets pretty cold during winter, I just went out and bought one of the cheapest electrical ovens from a hardware store. Didn't cost much and solved my problem.

8 hours master race. Americans are spoiled by the sun.

>8 hours
Spoiled boy.. 3-4 here. Soon 0.

Dark cold nights are the best, its only shitty when it rains.
Dunno but I spend most of my free time in dark rooms not sure what it is lads something about the dark.

Get a space heater and drink some tea

Alcohol, and a sleeping bag. I'm challenging myself to go without heating this winter.
I do miss living with my parents, because they have a fireplace.

Live in Indiana, weather is completely fucky over here, but winters are usually pretty comfy imo.

>Tfw this is the type of environment I crave
Not sure what it is lads its just comfy.

I feel like trash all year, every day, all day so it doesn't matter

Apparently during WWII, American soldiers were unprepared for the high latitude and long winter nights in Europe, also the winter of 1944-45 was the coldest in more than 30 years.

I don't sleep outside.
