Is it hard to learn arabic?

So many people speak Arabic now, so i started playing with the thought of learning it. It can't be that complex to learn right? I do not necessarily want to write it in characters, only speak and understand it.

This is actually really sad.

just learn german

I bought something from an Arabic shopkeeper yesterday and he said something on arabic to his buddy. I want to understand what they say. Sad that it's come to this yes.

I know that already.

He said Arabic, not Turkish. You're thinking of France.

This is actually really sad.

It depends, where do they come from?
Here people speak mostly North-African Arabic, it's different from ME Arabic. Most of these people don't speak literary Arabic as well.
It's just pointless and a waste of time.

Why is that?

Mainly north african. I've heard that there is not very much difference between the dialects. I'm also thinking on working in Kuwait.

Probably nonsense

In Saudia Pakistani and Bangladeshi shopkeepers kept insulting me or family so one day I needled back in the few words I know, pin drop silence and stares from then on. Arabs in the west do it to Sudanese people whom they think are African Americans

It'll just create friction and it isn't worth it

I'm not a specialist, but I know it's hard for Arabic speakers to understand each other from a region to another. Even between North-African.

>learns arabic.
>the secret police thinks i'm being radicalized.
>placed on a watchlist

Why is someone shilling for Norwegians to learn Arabic

What is the end game

Go back to Sup Forums, you fucking cretin.

Listen, i don't want to learn arabic because i respect them, rather the opposite. They always backtalk and try to trick you, i want to learn more about them.

No, u, Tony Zhang

This entire board is dedicated to things like learning languages. The fucking sticky Sup Forums wiki in the sticky is all about that.
Mongrel, you need to go back.

Here's your $0.02

Keep up the good fight

you utter fucking retard, you will never learn arabic, for a native speaker of norwegian, arabic is among the 4 hardest big languages to learn (the others being Korean, Japanese and Mandarin).

Unless you are so incredibly butthurt that you're willing to spend many years mastering the language and (looking at the immigrant population in norway) Iraqi/Moroccan dialect of Arabic

You need to get out of Oslo

Dialect is easy, fusha is hard, retarded nd pointless.

Algerian and Moroccans have the best dialect but also probably the hardest. Levantine is really easy, Iraqi is easy to learn but accents can be quite hard. Egyptian is easy but they speak quickly

The alphabet is easy and also the most fun part

don't be such an orc

>It can't be that complex to learn right?
Yes it is pretty hard, even I don't speak proper arabic
>I do not necessarily want to write it in characters, only speak and understand it
Learn the dialect of a particular arabic country you're passionate about, way easier than learning full literary arabic

Yes we are shilled paid by soros, just like the amerimutt meme :^)

...

one of the hardest of the practical languages to learn aside from chinese

absolutely no reason to learn arabic by the way unless you are a muslim

they only worry about sunnis

Just focus on your own shit and don't hang out with young Arabs that are trash and not respect your culture. One of the worst people to interact with desu.

>absolutely no reason to learn arabic by the way unless you are a muslim
It's very useful in politics, PR and translations. Gulf countries pay big money to an aryan who knows the language

yeah no

they speak english there
