DUDE REMEMBER THE 80'S?!

DUDE REMEMBER THE 80'S?!

REMEMBER DA 90s?

But seriously
Early 00s up until around 07/08>80s>90s>Current decade

you need t o learn some memes old timer. it'ms more proper to say "member the 80's?!"

If you think that's bad, wait for Spielberg's take on this.

>It's a "Dude let's circlejerk hate this flick" thread
This place is like evil reddit

Nope. I was born in 99

to be fair to spielberg the book was pretty heavy with 80s references

>tfw I had a neighborhood party on my birthday with a TMNT cake and a NES hooked up outside playing god damn Jeopardy.

Yeah, I do remember the 80s. The fashion was awful but the music was so good.

I do remember the 80's, I was born in that shitty decade. It was crap.

Isn't this book predicated on a long series of references to incredibly popular pieces of media
How do even get the rights to put half of that shit in a movie

>Isn't this book predicated on a long series of references to incredibly popular pieces of media

Yes.

was it autism?

I'd like to know what exactly about this movie is like the 80's? All the pop music is from the 70's and it visually it looks like a cross between Flash Gordon and The Fifth Element. Nothing about the first movie or this one seems to remotely resemble an 80's flick.

That would just be Spielberg trying to remain true to the source material

i only want to see how they do the war games part

not really, I was two when it ended

The fuck is this shit. Is it's narrative actually clever in any way or does it just coast along on references.

>Firefly is a classic series
Fuck sake Reddit, let it go, it was below average at best and Carnivale was the true, early 00s kino cancelled series.

The scene with the girl's spirit being trapped in that freaky town with the other spirits and the midget looking horrified and turning away genuinely disturbed me

Yeah, and they weren't self ironic and low budget.

Nope, standard dystopian, YA trash.

As opposed to... "good" reddit?

>Literally a book about a autist obsessed about the 80's
Oh geez I wonder if there'll be 80's stuff in it.

sup reddit

Once this shit hits theaters we'll see levels of reddit name calling on Sup Forums like never seen before in history

Seen it, 9/10 just like usual.

It's already hit theaters, what are you talking about? I saw it 3 days ago.

>Not 68-84>1989-1995>1960-19682013-present day>1996-2003>1985-1988

Here's the thing: the 80s was the greatest era there ever was. No other decade comes even close to its sheer awesomeness.

born 1983, yes i do. go kys

Early 80s, swan song of 70s kino
Mid 80s, worse than shit
Late 80s, better, if only for the fact that people started realizing how shitty it got

I can't believe they stole Gurren Lagann's motto.

The 90s were pure shit.
