The best part about this is that they expect to be pandered to, but I promise you that that entire demographic are going to leave the 2 hour premiere "weirded out" with nothing good to say about it, then move on to circlejerking Stranger Things Season 2.

And - everything about the production indicates that it has potential to be better than the old series, which was plagued by shitty writing, network interference, a streak of bad luck and some unfortunate circumstances. Despite all that, it resulted in masterful television when handled by Lynch, who is now handling the entirety of it. This is a case of all the "evidence"(which I won't bother going into for the umpteenth time) actually pointing towards it being as good as nobody would've dreamed to expect only a few years ago, yet there are angry detractors who have already dismissed it as doomed. Is it guaranteed to be good? Of course not. Should you be ready for disappointment? Of course. But I have a feeling there are people who will simply miss out on it(like many did FWWM - because of the things they expected, that it wasn't, not because of what it actually was) because they've already decided its quality and nothing will change their mind. It's very different from healthy skepticism.

If Sup Forums existed back in the early 90s, you'd be shitposting about Chris Isaak, David Bowie and Julee Cruise.
The creators have explicitly made it clear they're bringing it back not for nostalgia or anything of the sort, but because they had the creative impulse to revisit that world. I believe them. It was a dream project for everyone.
