What are some shows/movies that are kind of like Justified, but better? Like, southern noir with an atmosphere less light-hearted. Also kind of like No Country for Old Men is what I'm looking for

>What are some shows/movies that are kind of like Justified, but better?

There are none.

Was there ever a comfier show?

WELL MAH STARS, RAYLAN GIVENS AS I LIVE AND BREATHE

Whah lookee here it's Raylan gibbons!

Literally the best final scene of any show

Longmire and fargo, dude

Bad Day at Black Rock
Bring Me The Head Of Alfredo Garcia
Charley Varrick
Coogan's Bluff
Extreme Prejudice
Lone Star
Cop Land
Way Of The Gun
Hell Or High Water

Really depends what you liked the most about Justified, the tone/dialogues (check out more Elmore Leonard adaptations, especially Jackie Brown and Out of Sight, which also had a TV show adaptation called Karen Sisco); the lone lawman or the criminal underworld, you'll enjoy a lot of straight-up westerns or hard-boiled noir with somewhat similar DNA like pic related or Point Blank, in general the kind of 60-70s manly genre filmmakers like Don Siegel, Sam Peckinpah, Robert Aldrich, Walter Hill, etc which all influenced the show.

Deadwood is also an obvious rec for Justified fans who haven't seen it yet.

GET BEHIND ME DEVIL

quarry

Can someone give me more insight on what digging coal together means? Like I know it's some sort of insanely meaningful bonding experience they went through together but it's also really specific to Kentucky, right? Any other way to describe their relationship?

they had sex with each other in the asses

>What are some shows/movies that are kind of like Justified, but better?
>better

No such shows exist.

If you want similar shows of lower quality we can oblige.

They worked in a shitty, dangerous fucking mine together doing some of the most godawful work you can imagine.

ok ples gimme

Banshee
The Shield
Hell of Wheels
Deadwood (it's really on par except for being unfinished)

>It's a Dewey blows all his money on hookers and an inflatable pool episode

>Deadwood

shits on Justified desu. Justified is pre good but deadwood is incredibru

I like them equally desu. Both are 10/10.

nah, deadwut is shit, mate.
only thing that culd have safed deadwut would have been castin Al Bundy as Al Swearengen

I'm trying to decide if Justified is more overrated than Fargo. What is it with FX shows?

Coal Mining is a very dangerous profession, and there tends to be a very close fraternity-like bond between coal miners, due to the fact that the people who own/manage coal mines, are generally horrible human beings who treat their employees as full-on slaves and disposable chatel who can be replaced in a heart beat if one dies or gets maimed or contracts black lung (where coal mine basically destroys your lungs and you have to have your lungs removed or worse, get cancer or die from lung-based illnesses due to the coal dust fucking up your lungs).

Coal miners look out for each other, because when shit goes horribly wrong in a coal mine (like when one collapses), coal miners have to depend on each other to survive. Sometimes you even have older coal miners sacrifice themselves so the younger coal miners can live.

In the case of Justified, Boyd and Raylan are forever bound by the fact that they survived a coal mine cave-in, by working together to ensure both men survived.

And in Raylan's case, the cave in happened on his very last day as a coal miner, before he left Kentucky to become a police officer/marshal. Boyd's willingness to risk his own life to save Raylan's life creates a life debt between the two men: basically every moment of life Raylan has had since that incident, has been as a result of one of Boyd's few moments of altruistic goodness. The fact that Boyd himself never holds that over Raylan's head, only adds to Raylan's complex love-hate relationship with him/

Beautiful

JUST hahahaha
JUST

almost got me with that bait

I do no remember that cave in thing with Boyd saving Raylan at all

I watched the first one or two episodes of Longmire and way too much attention was given to a way too ugly coat for my liking. Does it get better?

just checking to see if I'm banned

>But better
Lmao.

Best post I've ever read on Sup Forums

This was a pretty good post but nobody responded to it.

Banshee is basically the same show as Justified, only with a slight twist, and set in the north

The increase of Justified threads are very welcome tbqh.

i thought the ending was pretty weak, actually.

Here's your (you) lad.

kek
agreed
Justified is so underrated mang, it literally shits on BB but plebs get filtered.

me neither tbqh famalam

This is the kino you are after

m.youtube.com/watch?v=7qUNx5_UBbI

And with a terrible final season. First 3 are Kino though!

Twin Peaks. It's set between the U.S. and Canada. But whatever

Literally my favorite show, but god that intro rap song got on my nerves.

...

Somtimes it's massively inappropriate for whatever it's leading into. Comically so.

Most enjoyable show ever, the true definition of comfy

Hell or High Water

Into The Furnace

Blue Ruin

The series premiere literally ends with a scene of Raylan and Boyd in their late teens trying to escape a caving in mine. Boyd is shows dragging Raylan to safety.

What didn't you like about it? The show really subverted my expectations with the biggest twist of them all: most of them got out of Harlan alive.

went to watch first episode because of this thread

>picks on nazis
>picks on racists
>picks on hillbillies
>my husband beat me, and then he beat me some more, it's because he's a dumb racist redneck hillbilly who's mad at his own failures in life, boy you sure are hot come fuck me, did I mention that my husband beat me?

srysly nigger?

>get HBO Nordic
>decide to check this out
>start it up
>it's got a strange cold open where they're chasing some guy down and shooting him in revenge
>mfw realising it was actually the first or last episode of the third season or something like that

Kind of soured me on watching it.

The HBO Nordic UI was just plain fucking retarded back then. If you just pressed "play" on a tv show they'd start you off on the newest season every time. You had to click for more info or some shit and then choose the first season AND the first episode and then keep doing that for every episode as you were going through it.

I actually had to check whether it was a porno. The acting was spot on for it.

There were no Nazis.
They picked on neo-Nazis (who deserve to be picked on)
They picked on ACTUAL racists, not just "but he said a joke" racists
Beating your wife is bad

Why would you defend any of those things? I hate SJWs and wish ANTIFA were anywhere near me so I could stomp them out, but you're an idiot. You must be a false flag from le reddit

Why does this faggot keep spamming this Channel Autism tier trash all over this board? Nobody wants it.

At first I thought it was weird as fuck. Then I started digging it. Then it became annoying. Then I started humming along. Then I just started skipping it. Then by the final season I just couldn't skip it because I wanted as much Justified as I could before it was over.

Banshee is literally the best TV show of all time.

I love Justified but Deadwood is definitely the superior show that is in any way similar.

First 3 seasons are great, but the 4th is so fucking terrible. I am glad it ended when it did and the show didn't go through a long and painful death.

I don't think the 4th season was THAT bad. The main problem for me was it being filmed in a different city, which made it just not feel like Banshee anymore.

I'm a Springfield girl, myself

American Gothic

better than some Tier 1 college essays I've read

Criminally underrated post.

season one is flavor of the week. only becomes kino in season 2

>ACTUAL racists
they weren't actual racists, "racism" was their excuse to get away with their degeneracy or in Boyd's case, to get power. Boyd wasn't a "neo-nazi" either, just another poser. Much like Uncle Jack from Breaking Bad, also much like the real life gang called Aryan Brotherhood.

t. natsoc

Meh, cool b8 but I wasn't talking about Boyd.

>cool b8
everything I said is true though

cool b8

>southern noir with an atmosphere less light-hearted

Cold in July
Blue Ruin

>Cold in July
>less light-hearted

Does the idea of a well adjusted natsoc (as opposed to some psychopath monster) challenge your perception of reality?
Watched both, really top tier material. Specially Cold in July, I loved it. And Don Johnson really nails the role. Both are beautifully shot by the way, you can feel the Michael Mann influence in their use of color.

It was pretty dark m8

>b8

true

>everything I don't like is b8!
Read Mein Kampf, then you'll understand what national socialism is. If you live in a country where having a copy of it is banned, then I feel sorry for you if you think you're "free".
I mean, it had fucking snuff going on, can't get much darker than that unless you watch some Italian 70s cinema.

>What are some shows/movies that are kind of like Justified, but better?

There are none

I get that the idea of reading a book by Hitler might too big of a red pill for you right now. Watch this instead and open your eyes to the reality that the 6 million figure is a fabrication rooted in Jewish numerology. They were memeing the 6 million before WWII, in fact just after the start of WWI.

I didn't have that one user, thanks! Saved.
I believe time will eventually show that the Germans weren't the bad guys in this war. Sad to see so much blood spilled in vain for (((them))) to profit from it.

'Kind of like Justified but better'

Isn't that the exact spelling of Deadwood?

If you look at movies made from 60s to the late 70s you see that Nazis are portrayed as smart and sometimes good people. But after (((they))) started moving to Hollywood things changed and Nazis became stupid and bad

FUCK ME, GORDON!!!

M8, I have bad news for you. They've controlled that damn hill since the 20s. Some directors have dared to point it out more or less subtly, like Francis Ford Coppola in The Godfather.

Deadwood, Fargo, True Detective

ofc they've been there since the start. But they started moving there in large numbers in the late 70s. It's only a coincidence that porn started getting mainstream then or that dumb movies started producing large quantities of money.

THE WIRE

Homeland is sorta there too, but it's not Police-themed.

who is this post op boy?

>southern noir
Stop posting.

La isla minima. It's a noir police thriller about the dissapearance of a few girls set in southern Spain a few years after the transition to democracy.

>Way Of The Gun
Very underrated movie, still rewatch it regularly.

Any Clint Eastwood movie

test

It's in the flashbacks in the first ep i think

Never even heard of Charley Varrick but it sounds like Roy Scheider's back story in Sorcerer. Bretty gud post and you really should have added Thunderbolt and Lightfoot to it.

Hap & Leonard has a similar setting and tone, it's much more comic noir so I would never claim it is in the same class as Justified.

It's a lot of fun though, the second season has a similar plot to the first season of True Detective

Hap & Leonard seasons are short and pretty much standalone, so they're easy to digest and enjoy.

it only counts if it's on his mothers side. Males don't count

yes, his mother's grandpa is the jewish one
