From a young age we arw taught to be equal, so those who perform poorly in sports and school are rewarded the same as those who do well, leaving no incentive to improve or try.

But the problem is when you do some deep thinking and take a step back, you realize that your time and efforts and wasted, that months or years of your life have been lost that you could have made real progress in.

This is what infuriates me the most about older generations. There is no instinct to 'understand' shit out of their zone of interest. Phone apps, video games, societal fads, it's all 'demeaning idiocy'. Rarely do you see Gen X go "It's not for me but if people enjoy it and they still live a happy life then it's not an issue". It's way too often "If you still do this over the age of 18 you're a manchild. you literally cannot enjoy things while still working a job and paying the bills. it's not the american way. your entire life should be the pursuit of success in a single careerline."

I'm not defending Millenials or Gen Z, both have a huge chunk of idiots. It's harder to get work nowadays than it was in the past. In the early 20s you get a job easily because there was no minimum wage and you could work for less while gaining experience.

If you didn't like the job you could just leave and find another. There was no unemployment benefit bullshit that you or the employer had to deal with. Now it's even harder for teens to get a job because of these things so you had teens who never had a job til they get out of college.

Why the fuck would you maintain infrastructure in the first place if you can't use it to play videogames and shit afterwards?
