Ex Machina

What the fuck is this garbage?
Dropped it as soon as these motherfuckers started dancing.
Piece of shit Anime-tier perversion and one of the most pretentious movies I've ever seen.

Wow, you're so angry you must be right.
So, when are you going for the 2nd time to see guardians of the galaxy 2?

>PRETENTIOUS
>PERVERSION
>TIER
>ANIME

The vocabulary of brain-dead chan cancer.

Does anyone else remember when we were only pretending to be stupid?

>He doesnt like muh super intellectual movie
>That means he must like capeshit

I just hate shitty movies, and I dont ever plan on seeing Guardians Of The Galaxy 2 because that also looks like a piece of shit movie.

I'm sorry, are you having trouble understanding basic English?

Here's the part where you tell us what you think a good movie is and then we laugh.

We will laugh either because

A: You choose something horrible like Batman v Superman

or

B: You show a total lack of personality and choose some bog-standard "Roger Ebert's Top 100 Movies of all time" pick because you think you'll impress us by picking a critical favorite after bashing a critical favorite.

>best scene in movie makes homo mad

>ITT: Movies where the "villain" did nothing wrong

Okay, I'll go well over your extremely low expectations and give you reasons why I think this movie is bad, and then give you examples of what I think is a good one.

>MC has literally no personality and is meant to pander(Just like the otaku anime of the worst kind) to the lonely, geeky type of male who thinks of himself as an intellectual individual and finally some girl(in this case, a pretty AI) flirts with him, and he IMMEDIATELY thinks about how he can stick his dick in her.
>The reason he's attracted to the robot girl
Because she has a fake pretty plastic face, and a body following the beauty standard. Does he like her personality? No, because she barely has any.
>Dialog is the most pretentious shit, almost no direct answers, and it's way past the limit of what qualifies as an interesting conversation, it's literally just to mess with the audience and make this piece of shit seem """"intellectual"""
>entire movie feels forced ad fake as shit.

Now for movies that I think are good, I'll give you one just from the top of my head as an example for what this movie could've been - The Shining. Why? Because it has a good buildup for a creepy ending, much like this movie was attempting at and failing, and the characters' interaction feel natural and not forced, the shift in the personalities happens slowly and with a decent pace, and while the majority of the movie is without any happenings, it doesn't feel strained, like in Ex Machina.

So was Caleb a robot or not?

>The dude is immediately attracted to the robot only because she's interested in him
Yeah that is the point of the movie you fucking dumbass. It's not wish fulfillment bullshit. It's not a romance.

You sound underaged.

That scene is really the only reason to watch that shit movie.

I'm sorry that you're such a lonely patheitc perma-virgin then if you find that normal behavior.
Especially since his sole purpose being there is to be an objective examiner, which he's clearly not.
Also - you want this to be "The point of the movie"? Fine, but it has to have something to do with who he is as a person and his background. He's introduced as your average just-a-little-smarter-than-the-rest coder, which is the only reason he was chosen. It's called decent writing.

>you will never hang out with Nathan

>Dropped it as soon as these motherfuckers started dancing.

That's pretty far in

Shouldv'e cast Sonoya Mizuno in Episode VIII
And in Ghost in the Shell

>having an autistic tantrum over a character dancing in a movie

Sup Forums is a comedy goldmine.

To be fair I was pissed for 15 minutes straight prior to finally dropping it at that point. This movie is fucking bad.

>you will never be Nathan
>tfw 130 IQ brainlet

cringe

>Implying I find that normal
How dumb are you that ex machina goes over your head?

>Pretentious
Wait a second, I thought this was Sup Forums

>completely ignoring the next half of my post

>I'll give you one just from the top of my head

Lies.
>05/01/17(Mon)07:19:52
>05/01/17(Mon)07:34:36

How much of that 15 minutes did you spend picking out a movie? I can only assume most of it because the text is nothing but you agrily buzzwording PRETENTIOUS PRETENTIOUS PRETENSIONS while failing to grasp the difference between a protagonist and a hero.

I'd say he's about 15, give or take a couple years.

Says the guy that uses 'piece of shit' as an adjective phrase. Hell, now that I've told you it's wrong, you probably still don't know why.

>Arrives at best scene in the film
>Can't decipher its complexity
>Brain hurts, cries
>Calls it pretentious on Sup Forums
>BTFO in comments
>Doesn't make him feel any smarter

Are you seriously judging that the example I gave wasn't from the top of my head based on the time it took me to write that wall of text to explain why this movie is shit to you? How hilariously fitting for your point.

I don't know whether OP is trolling but I agree with a lot of the shit he's saying. I got what the movie was doing but holy shit was it plodding and uninteresting.

And it was pretentious, if you thought it was intellectually stimulating you should try reading some Asimov, it will blow your fucking mind.

>complexity

Thanks for the kek, m8

I'm actually 100% serious with thinking this movie is shit.
Unfortunately if you hate it on Sup Forums it automatically means you're stupid.

>Pretentious
Wait a second, I thought I was on Sup Forums

Your criticism is irrelevant since you haven't watched the whole movie.
Seriously, how can you guys not finish what you are watching? I've done it only in very extreme cases or when I don't have time, but feel bad then. I don't go to Sup Forums and proudly announce that I am pleb.

Also the scene was cool af. To me it lost a bit of its significance, since what it wanted to show was obvious before i, but still pretty cool. As for the entire movie, I didn't like it much, it was interesting, but mediocre IMO.

the movie had top waifus though

>Seriously, how can you guys not finish what you are watching?

Unless I actually went to the movies to pay for it, why would willingly I sit through something that I don't enjoy?

It's easy to make walls of text when it's content-free brainless garbage.

Example:
BALLS BALLS BALLS BALLS BALLS BALLS BALLS BALLS BALLS BALLS BALLS OF STEEL

etc

We tumblr now?

that's because the people who like it are probably smarter than you

>you tore up her paper
>i'm gonna tear up the dancefloor dude, check it out

best line of the movie fàm

You have to be 18+ to post here.

>there is no middle between lonely perma-virgin behavior to a tumblrina ranting

Sometimes I wonder if there's even any point in actually discussing anything here.

danceoff! xD

lolsorandumxDDD

Textbook "we need a scene people will talk about on social media without having seen the film" scene.

Maybe because as a story it still has progress and it may end up good, it may explain what you find stupid writing etc?
I personally believe no director should feel the need to entertain from the beginning because there are idiots out there who know what they are supposed to watch but then drop it. Of course this doesn't go for this movie, as I said I didn't like it, but it was not bad enough to stop watching it.

I know you got Monday off school but you don't have to spend it arguing over a movie you didn't finish

As I've answered a different guy in this thread(might be you, idk) But prior to finally dropping it at the dance scene I sat and watched it annoyed by how much into the film I am, and how the MC has absolutely zero personality. Main character personality doesnt just appear outta no where no matter what the movie has in store for us, it's something that's supposed to be established from the beginning with obvious room for development. In this case he lacked everything, and it was honesly tiring to keep watching him not recieve any answers to his questions and just be okay with it. He's insecure, alright, but holy fuck you can't use the same shtick over and over again. Repeating a character's quirk is something you do when you dont know how to built it in the first place.

>gives an embarrassing reply that shows how much of an underage faggot he is
>gets called underage faggot
>N-NO U!

You really got me there, well done.

I really don't get what you are talking about. He specifically chose a guy with zero personality, "a nice guy" so that he would attracted by the damsel in distress, whose plastic face, as you mentioned above, was based on his pornography preferences. Now you may argue
>but still zero personality
That's what the writer wanted and that's what he did. He shouldn't apologize, especially to someone who is arguing a film is bad but still hasn't watched it all to have a valid opinion. And that's why I find arguing with you ultimately pointless and I am going to stop now.

he drops the film during the best part lmao senpai

It was just average. But because it appealed to waifuists and faux intellectuals, people cling to it like it's some deep, meaningful kino.

It was just Bladerunner for people who own anime pillows.

>"a nice guy" = zero personality

also

>Now you may argue
>And that's why I find arguing with you ultimately pointless and I am going to stop now.

>pretentious
How?

>When you're so retarded that even ex machina is too complex for you

B-but you missed the tiddies

faggot

absolute dogshit film, other than the dancing scene which was great.

Best girl coming through.

one of the best movies in recent memory. very good writing. fantastic acting from my now favourite actor oscar isaac.

because op can't understand films written for anyone above the age of 14. pretentious for op means they use too many big words and i can't understand them.

youtu.be/BC2dRkm8ATU

Your loss pleb

It was a good movie and the ending was pretty slick

>Implying anime is a bad thing
