>i heard that movie is too sad i won't watch it
>that movie is too dark, it's depressing
Picking movies to watch with my friends is so annoying. I wasn't aware that movies are only meant to make you happy.
>i heard that movie is too sad i won't watch it
>that movie is too dark, it's depressing
Picking movies to watch with my friends is so annoying. I wasn't aware that movies are only meant to make you happy.
>friends
You're on the wrong board boy.
>watch movie with friend
>"What did you think?"
>"Uhhh I didn't like it. It was just really... arty"
>Picking movies to watch with my friends
thats the error.
normies take movies as social interaction while you see it like enjoining some type of art.
conclusion, dont watch movies with anyone if it doesnt lead to sex.
Pun on me, I understand. According to Žižek, films give a scope on our psyche, making it possible to do kind of auto psychoanalysis. It doesn't have to leave the subject in high spirits.
What was the point of the girl with the red coat? It came out of nowhere and served no narrative purpose.
>All the characters were unlikable assholes. There's no one to root for!
it's almost like in real life there are no clear cut heroes
>tfw no one was down for my Beasts of No Nation/Grave of the Fireflies/Come and See marathon
>first movie night the lads and some chick in the college dormroom
>we got this user here is a movie buff
>I suggest them to watch Burn After Reading
>awkward silence for 15 minutes
>they turn it off, download Sex Drive, and I'm kind of invited to go away
>mfw
I've met plenty of shitty people who are entertaining at least. I'd say barfly is a good example of a "shitty people who you still want to root for" movie.
because le jews are colorful and beautiful in a black/white evil white mans world.
The coat later shows up in a mass grave scene.
>have no friends
>only watch movies with little brother with our own homecrafted inside jokes
>won't have anyone to watch or do anything with this autumn when he goes to university
This is one of the reasons I hate normies, they automatically hate something that isn't all sparkles and sunshine, and they get all confused if you say you like listening to sad music; or simply like a movie because it's dark and sad. Fucking faggots.
>don't blindly agree with someones opinion on a film I don't like
>"user hates everything! Don't even ask him his opinion lol!"
>with a group of co-workers
>don't really want to be there but if I don't show up i'll be known as the weird asshole rather than just the weird guy
>subject of netflix and streaming sites comes up
>everyone talking about shows they "binge"
>"user, have you binged anything"
>don't even have netflix
>"No I don't really binge shows. But I watch 4-5 movies every weekend so I guess that counts"
>co-workers girlfriend says "wait you watch 4 movies every week? ALONE? That's so weird haha!"
>mfw this bitch just said she rewatched all of stranger things in 24 hours but me watching a few movies on my days off is weird
>too scared to call her out in front of anyone else
How the fuck is it okay to spend 8 hours in one day watching some show alone but spending 10-12 hours over 2 days watching a couple movies weird? Do people actually think this way or was I dealing with a special retard?
Try any of the following
>The Siege Of Jadotville/Beasts of No Nation/Africa Addio
>Porco Rosso/The Wind Rises/Grave of the Fireflies
>They Fought for Their Country/The Cranes Are Flying/Come and See
Schindler's List is a fantastic movie but it's not exactly a movie I'd watch with friends. Still worth seeing though.
I've only experienced it once, when a friend of mine refused to watch Jagten with me. I don't really get it, but it made him very angry.
he's a pedo
also checked
Wow they're good movies, but it's pretty much suicidal at this point
>is this going to be another one of your weird films?
it's just not the norm. that makes you weird in their eyes. that's it.
N-no...
she was trying to get you to open up and share your thoughts.
she dished out some banter and you couldnt take it and clammed up.
now you are the weird sensitive guy
women basically go their entire lives trying to avoid anything too dark or sad
>gf wants to watch a movie
>remember hearing that movie The Road is really good
>ask if we can watch that
>she says no because kids being in a dystopian world where people want to kill them makes her sad
Whoa god forbid a movie actually makes you feel raw emotions instead of simply making you snort a puff of breath out of your nose once in a while.
Fuck that is so triggering.
>hang out with my brother sitting on comfy couches around a table watching random shit on his big TV
>smoke a bit of weed (DUDE LMAO)
>he throws up random youtube videos and we talk about them
>they're all shit so i say why they're shit and why certain channels are bad
>such as talking about channels like epic meal time, stating objective facts which have declined the quality of the channel like them becoming sellouts, over use of forced memes, some people's egos, etc etc
>"lol man you're such a hater, you hate on everything"
It's not my fault most things are trash.
women/normies think all movies should be shallow, empty light entertainment thats easy to watch
This can totally break a movie though. Especially if the movie's intention is to root for someone you don't like.
embryo detected
no argument
why do you have to root for someone?
Don't need one. Watch more film, dumb embryo.
You don't. But when the movie expects you to, and that someone is badly written so you don't root for them, it's the movies fault.
I already said this in my previous post and i don't know why i have to repeat myself but i guess this is Sup Forums after all.
>blaming a movie as if it's a person
yikes. how pathetic. Name a few movies that you think are trying to trick you into rooting for someone you don't want to root for. I'll wait. But also know that anything you post is inherently wrong because you're an idiot.
should have watched the room
>tricking
Never even said or implied anything like this. If they trick you into it, it's fine. After all it's the movies intention to trick you. But when a movie does it unknowingly, there's something wrong with the movie. There, hopefully you understand it now, because i won't repeat myself for the 4th time.
Name a few you goddamn idiot.
Why? You said you know everything i post will be wrong anyway. I'm not gonna bother.
My gf has been de-plebbified, and can now enjoy and comment on most movies on par with me. She blows normies clear out of the water. However, she refuses to watch Se7en because it's "gross". Long way to go yet.
NAME THEM UP WAGIE
>This movie is boring. it's just people talking
>scrolls through library
>"wow, user, I haven't heard of any of these movies"
>turns on Netflix
Not the guy but Scott Pilgrim. I been told the book handles it better by focusing on the other characters. Most Adam sanlder movies.
This is why I just keep neutral opinions when around regular people, and only go hardcore autistic when around friends or here.
>Start movie
>People talk a bit at the start, get snacks etc.
>They miss the first 10 minutes and will ask for explanations the rest of the film
>If horror, they don't let themselves get immersed (potentially getting scared) and instead laugh at scares
>They get bored easily and whenever there is any slow scenes they pull out their phones or start talking
You can't watch a single good film with these people. It's just ironically bad movies, cheap modern horror or normie fartcomedy. I have fun nights doing that too with them but it's annoying that they can NEVER just watch and enjoy a really good film.
Try this one
Call me a pleb if you want to but I really didn't enjoy District 9 as much as I could have with a better protagonist.
The Hateful Eight in a nutshell. Still a good movie though
