Gerty is CUTE. :)
Except say that the antenna was failing when it wasn't.
I kept thinking the whole time it he was going to trick the main characters. Good gerty :)
>implying lying isn't helpful when employed for the greater good
Huey, Duey and Luey from Silent Running.
this
I was waiting for him to turn evil the whole time, subverting that trope really makes the movie great.
:)
Unironically this in 2010.
2010 is an underrated movie. It's not really comparable to 2001, but it doesn't really try to be. It's a much more straightforward movie, and is no where near as deep, it's pretty typical anti-cold war stuff, but it's well made and has some of the most tense scenes I've ever seen.
>thought all of the androids especially David from the alien universe were the best part of the films.
>the movies are all dedicated to the aliens
why is it so hard for hollywood to make more movies about androids? they're amazing.
...
You're amazing!
>ORAC was a prick
I completely forgot about Silent Running. Thank you for reminding me this exists.
Lots of great movies have been brought up in this thread. Thanks a lot, Sup Forums friends.
you're welcome
have some bbc on the side
I watched it yesterday and was thinking the same thing. It's well done in that sense. When it came up from behind to type in the password I though it was just gonna smack him over the head.
Android from dark matter.

Well intentioned, I wouldn't say helpful though, considering he was useless.
Are you really insinuating humans are as smart and capable as fucking AI? All the humans were shit
harvey from farscape kinda counts, also that weird comtryah fag in sg1
Data and the starships' intelligence from Star Trek.
>Happy birthday Paulie!
Was it only Paulies 31st birthday?
Jesus Christ
The Enterprise's computer wasn't an artificial intelligence.
If there are enough subversions of a trope, does that subversion become a trope itself?
An anti-trope is a trope by default.
Bishop was a fucking bro
fifi from the anime version of Metropolis if that counts
Brobot from Jimmy Neutron was literally engineered to be a bro
Giant ;_;
Was he an AI though?
2010 gets shit for not being 2001 2, if it was a separate project it would be a classic
and Baymax all basically have the intellect of Dogs or children which is used to make them more sympathetic, but in terms of a genuinely intelligent and helpful AI
>Jarvis
>Bishop
>Gerty
>Tars
>R2D2 + BB8
I'm halfway through Ex Machina and Ava seems pretty helpful :^)
Johnny 5 was a bro
The Oracle and the Not Oracle and the Assmaster from the Matrix.
This film is fantastic.
Aesthetically and emotionally beautiful
the dialogue was convoluted tho, but you could still follow what was going on at least
Also this little guy from Wallace and Gromit
Bit was a lil buddy
Reminder that Edward was a robot

YES YES YES
All the little robots in Batteries Not Included.
Also Bishop in Ayyliens.
i found them to be really creepy. what was stopping them from multiplying until they had stripped civilization of all its electrical equipment?
Not sure how helpful he really was.

no kubrick.

I occasionally watch the ending a few times when I've been drinking, the choice of music is literally perfect
I would fuck that robo into oblivion
Bishop was cool but also responsible for Alien 3
J5
F.R.I.D.A.Y a cute
the Red Queen in the latest, dreadful Resident Evil installment
These fags
you don't think star wars episode 7 is canon, either, right?
patrician film. Joel's robot friends in MST3K were inspired by this movie.
