How does he do it?

Only autists him, probably because they can relate.

he's just a really nice, humble human being in real life

it's the asian blood in him

because he is charming and seems nice.

and its not like he is terrible in every role. i think he was good in matrix.

His acting was perfect in A Scanner Darkly because he portrayed a guy who became a mindless drone.

Because he seems like a genuinely nice person.

>stoic
You haven't seen his finest role as Ted Theadore Logan

One of the nicest men in Hollywood, an absolute rarity.

This

They only him what?

If you watched more than just the shitty action movies that never give him any acting leeway whatsoever because action movies are written by 12 year olds,
then you would realize he is a good actor who is capable of pulling consistent and varied personalities, you dumb faggot.

>He's nice
>His movies are usually good
>He knows his audience

Even if you don't like his acting, he's pretty innocuous. It's not like he's shoved everywhere like Idras Elba or anything.

He's a genuinely kind person, the movies he's in are usually good even without him, and he's good at playing stoic. Plus he's pretty hot.

But OP posted a photo from a movie where he was given more to work with and he completely botched it.

I thought everyone in Scanner was miscast, especially RDJ, Harrelson, and Ryder. In the book, Arctor (Reeves) is supposed to be like twice as old as everyone else, mirroring PKD's real life experiences living with young dope fiends in his 40s. RDJ is too charismatic and likable for the despicable, obnoxious character he actually is. Everyone else is too old.

It's probably the most effective and faithful mainstream PKD adaptation but it's still not a good one. Also fuck Linklater, Kaufman's screenplay was better.

Eat a dick. "Bill and Ted" was great.

He pulled Jonathan Harker precisely as he should have you illiterate nigger who is too good for books.

He's awesome as Neo, Bill, and John Wick. Plus he's a great guy IRL.

They were miscast as far as "matching their novel counterparts" goes, but they were perfectly cast for the roles they were meant to fulfill in the screenplay.

You forgot Constantine. He comes off as an arrogant douche well enough.

He acted just as you would have reacted if you were that character in real life user.
Nothing more perfect than that.
