But still. How the fuck can you even do a satisfying adaptation of this monstrosity of a work?
Have you considered that it's five decades worth of material? Why hasn't anyone done ANYTHING with it?
I KNOW ABOUT THE CORNELIUS MOVIE. IT DOESN'T FUCKING COUNT. They did? Holy shit. Source me nigga.

What the hell is this?
James Powell
Redpill me on Elric.
Also someone please redpill me on Book of the New Sun.
Lincoln James
>Redpill me on Elric. Meaning...?
Easton Robinson
They turned Sword of Truth series into a Xena like show.
Eli Morgan
please tell me why he's so beloved and important
Jayden Brown
Why am I not that surprised?
Dylan Perez
Redpill means grotesquely misinform him. Something stupid like "Yyrkoon did nothing wrong."
Daniel Sanchez
>please tell me why he's so beloved and important The first edgelord before that was even a thing but he's "Edge done right".
He's a complete reversal of the fantasy archetype. Whereas Conan was a big dude with an axe and was after a paycheck and bitches to fuck, Elric is frail, a philosopher and an Emperor(at the start and self exiled by the end of the prequel) and destined to fight against Chaos and Law for the sake of the Cosmic Balance.
He's fantasy's original antihero which almost every other effort since got its inspiration from.
From Warhammer to DnD, the Eternal Champion's influence is vast.
Also, Stormbringer and Melniboneans as a whole.
Sebastian Hall
Law vs Chaos as allignments where first done by Poul Anderson but Moorcock expanded upon it and made it the core focus of the Eternal Champion saga and explored its themes and roles in fantasy.
Of course Yyrkoon did nothing wrong. He's being true to his nature as a Melnibonean. It's not his problem that Elric was a naive, young idiot that underestimated everything.
Isaac Bailey
As someone once described him, he's a creature of Chaos consigned to the cause of Law by the aberrant whim of a vengeful God.
And we're not even talking about the meta series as a whole either.
Ethan Martinez
Also, you like Targaryens and how Valyria had dragons?
Because Valyria, is a mere shadow of what Melnibone is even in its waning years.
You got Moorcock to thank for that subplot by the way. He and GRRM are friends.
Dominic Morris
Thanks.
now do Book of the New Sun pls I'm not a fantasy guy but people keep reccing those, despite them seeming the same as everything else to me. (I know BotNS is technically considered to be SF)
Eli Johnson
The trailer makes the Dark Tower look like generic Hollywood slop.
Hudson Sanchez
I only love LOTR due to the scene where Galadriel was riverdancing though
