It's because the test is not accurate and asks leading questions that elicit answers based on one's preferred personality type, instead of the real psychological profile.

It's based on theory and conjecture by Jung, aka Freud 2.0, what do you expect?

This stupid test has become prevalent enough as a piece of pop-psychology that people are taking it seriously and believe it has real credibility.

The theory itself can be easily separated from Kung's thought and is not without merit. For example, it is very likely that everybody has a cognitive bias in how information is processed and either abstracts rules away or focuses on individual data (N vs. S types in Myers-Briggs). Or that each and every one of us sees the value of communication either as attaining an objective value of truth or as reaching intersubjective agreement (T vs. F types).
