I work at an animal shelter/dog day care.

I have needed stitches a couple times, as a result of dog bites. Usually when breaking up a fight. some of the fights get REALLY bad. Ive seen dog ears get torn off, tails get bitten off, dogs needing 20+ stitches in one wound, etc

one fight was Malamute vs St Bernard (both bit me, I needed 8 stitches in hand, arm, and leg)

one was German shep vs Husky

I'm sure there's more as well.

Point is, I dont think pitfalls are necessarily more aggressive than other breeds. However, they are literally built to take down bulls, and these abilities translate into being able to take down other things too. Everything about them, their muscles, the way their skin is 'flabby', their jaws (they have special jaws that can 'lock' into place, to snap a bull's neck)

I think pitbull ownership should be just like gun ownership. yo should have to prove that not only will you train the dog, you are physically capable of whooping his ass if it becomes necessary. I sometimes see these like, 95lb asian women walking two 80lb pitbulls. this should be illegal. if those dogs decide to go after something, there is literally NOTHING this bitch could do to stop it. on top of that, since they were raised together, they develop a sort of hive mind mentality between them, and will both go after whatever one of them goes after. this is extremely dangerous.

that being said, malamutes, huskies, german shepherds, and 'bully' breeds are responsible for pretty much 100% of dog attacks. people with small children should maybe try getting a smaller, less lethal breed of dog
