My porno desu

great reply, thank you

Every movie on that list has some creative artistic merit.
Except Boyhood

Blade Runner, Boyhood, Avatar and the Dark Knight currently tied for first

AVATAR
V
A
T
A
R

Go ahead, abatap wannabes. Post your copypasta. It won't change the fact Avatar is SHIT.

agreed

Modern movies are far more overrated desu opsama

boyhood bout to sweep this series

Inception in 1st place out of nowhere, this is better than the Kentucky Derby folks, my money's still on Boyhood

From best to worst:

Blade Runner > The Dark Knight > The Usual Suspects > The Departed > It's a Wonderful Life > Inception > Napoleon Dynamite > Boyhood > Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith

Although Episode III is far more entertaining than Boyhood. I would say Boyhood is the most overrated flick on that list.

I'm with you, Boyhood will win.

>no forrest gump
>no skyfall
>no crash
>no million dollar baby
>no E.T.

>crash
Does anyone actually rate that film highly? It got good reviews when it came out and won best picture but after it won best picture it received immense backlash and it seems like that backlash never went away. Whenever someone wants to prove the Oscars are irrelevant they point to Crash winning best picture.

>The Dark Knight > The Usual Suspects > The Departed

Maybe I would swap around The Usual Suspects and The Departed but I stand by ranking The Dark Knight that highly. It's one of the few capeshit movies that's actually pretty good.

>Does anyone actually rate that film highly?
>It got good reviews when it came out and won best picture

Why BvS isn't in the list?

>The Usual Suspects
fucking THANK YOU, god damn that shit was terrible, its acclaim is inexplicable to me

nobody fucking cares about capeshit

It's only overrated by faggots that shitpost on here. Critics ripped it apart and the general public didn't like it very much.

that is quite a reddit and badly thought through list itself, you underaged fagglet.

>why isn't a movie that everybody hated on the list of most overrated films

Reddit likes all of these movies, kill yourself

>Moon
>Fifth Element
>Alien
>Blade Runner

It's no longer overrated, senpai. Back in 2006 it was but in 2017 no one likes it.

Apocalypse Now

>Moon
What? Most normies have never heard of it. It's liked by critics and sci-fi fans but that's it.
>Alien
Kill yourself.

>no LA Confidential
>no American Beauty
>no 'James Cameron's entire filmography"
>no 'Every Scorsese movie in the 21st century'
>no La La Land
>no The Nice Guys
>no Pi
>no Barry Lyndon
>no Tree of Life
>no Gladiator
>no Kingdom of Heaven
>no The Babadook
>no The VVitch
>no It Follows
>no 'Every single PTA movie'

what would your list have been then faggot

It didn't make any fucking sense to me when I watched it. Wasn't the entire point of the movie for the villain to kill anyone that knew what he looked like before he went into hiding? He killed like fifty fucking people so no one knew what he looked like, but then exposes himself to the police for hours and they know what he looks like.

>>Alien
>>Blade Runner

Fuck you.

>#4
>Mad Max: Fury Road

Disgusting

but 90% of those are already forgotten

>>Moon
>What? Most normies have never heard of it.

>>no LA Confidential
If anything that film is underrated. It's a fucking great film that no one ever talks about.
>>no Kingdom of Heaven
I think you've spent too much time on Sup Forums. It's highly rated on here but it doesn't get a lot of attention outside of here.

depends on what ratings we count

obviously if IMDB is anything to go by half of the films in that top 20 aren't even that good

...

>Forrest Gump
>A Man for All Seasons
>Moonlight
>A Clockwork Orange

It's Blade Runner, but all the BR retards will flood your poll with random answers just so BR doesn't finish 1st.

Godfather

Seconded. Even the visuals are not that great.

What? I'm correct.

>A Clockwork Orange
I guess you just didn't understand it

OP here, most of those aren't rated highly enough to be the "most overrated," also PTA and Scorsese own your fucking life

I forgot about Barry Lyndon though, but I've literally never seen anyone on Sup Forums mention it so I didn't include it, it is one of the most overrated ever though, also I liked Pi a lot and haven't seen Babadook or La La Land yet

...

...

vote inception

fuck those IMDB tards in the ass

Call me a pleb or whatever, but my vote would go to The Godfather or Apocalypse Now

Fuck, just realized I forgot to rank Avatar. I would place it near the bottom.

if anything it's underrated because of the rise in autistic plebs calling it overrated because it isn't The Godfather

ABATAP takes the lead

>no shawshank redemption

It seems like IMDb is the only place that ranks it so highly. It got great reviews from critics but I never see people say "OMG ONE OF THE BEST FILMS EVER!!!" It's weird.

Someone's got himself a Scarface poster in his college dorm and thought it made him hardcore.

Episode 3. It's considered the best prequel, which I'm fine with. The problem is that it's also considered "the only good prequel", which is wrong, because they're all bad. It's also the only specifically "bad" movie in this list except for maybe Boyhood and Avatar.

is avatar even "overrated"? isn't it just popular? it's not like it won the palme d'or or anything, it just made a lot of money, so does transformers, no one would ever say transformers is "overrated," everyone already knows it's retarded

What's wrong with forrest gump though ? There are far worse movies, and if you're not autistic you can easily see why it was a huge success.

OP here, Revenge of the Sith is the worst Star Wars movie full stop, don't @ me

>I disagree with you therefore you own a movie poster

can't argue with that logic

wtf avatar? you haters are just mad jelly

>What's wrong with forrest gump though ? There are far worse movies, and if you're not autistic you can easily see why it was a huge success.

I wouldn't call it overrated. You don't hear people still talking about how the movie was incredible. I think everyone knows it made a shit ton of money because it was beautiful visually and was the main movie that came out during the 3D fad.

I'd say second worst, but I legitimately think Attack of the Clones is one of the single worst blockbusters ever made, ignoring the fact it's from the Star Wars franchise.

did someone link to this poll from an anti-avatar thread or something lol, how did the votes go up this fast

I didn't like the movie because everyone thinks it's a happy ending, but it was literally an AIDs infested junkie raping a retarded man and leaving him with the kid.

dude it's overrated because I said so lmao

Actually everyone loved it

>Fifty Shades of Grey is the most overrated.

What kind of person calls it's a wonderful life overrated

i was just browsing Sup Forums, and always hated Avatar

fuck Cameron and fuck the sequels too

Results as of now:

1. Avatar
2. Boyhood
3. Inception
4. The Dark Knight
5. Blade Runner
6. Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith
7. Napoleon Dynamite
8. It's a Wonderful Life
9. The Departed
10. The Usual Suspects

every fast and furious title

>avatar no 1

nu Sup Forums was a mistake

the only overrated films on the list I would say are boyhood, avatar, the usual suspects, and maybe the dark knight.

>every most overrated movie is just some solidly entertaining and well well received movie from the past 10 years
rly makes me thnink

>movies I haven't even seen are overrated

What a fucking entry level "I have only seen 100 movies in my life" list.

Try

>Tree of Life
>Slumdog Millionaire
>Mullholland Drive
>Persona
>Interstellar
>Everything PTA
>Everything Villeneuve
>Everything Peckinpah

Ok I'm getting a bit hyperbolic but everything on that list is decent and well made.

>Blade Runner
>The Usual Suspects

agreed so much

>lol I told you a fake story but I'm really the bad guy! can you believe it! watch me walk right out of here lol

Avatar

All it had going for it was CG, and now the CG is becoming dated

Did literally anyone like this movie?

overrated does not mean "did too well in theaters even though it was average film" fucking IMDB brainlet cancer nolan fanboys

all shit opinions desu

>What a fucking entry level "I have only seen 100 movies in my life" list. Have you ever heard of [INSERT BEST PICTURE WINNER HERE] or [INSERT MOST ACCLAIMED FILM OF 21ST CENTURY HERE] you plebeians?

>Barry Lyndon
>overrated

Pick one. It's largely considered to be qbricks least good offering, but you don't know that because all you see are the cult following fanboys online.

>fucking IMDB brainlet cancer nolan fanboys

>nolan's 2 biggest films are on the list

they are obviously all flooding the poll with avatar votes. it's a conspiracy i tell you

The Tree of Life

I did. Have you seen it? Dakota Johnson had that "I don't know what " which makes you want to jump small animals or women.

The Departed.
It's enjoyable, but at the end of the day it's still an obnoxious remake of a okay Chink thriller, done shot-for shot

Departed is way better than Infernal Affairs

Add Big Lebowski and I'll vote

Eh, it lack the intensity of the original film, plus it didn't have that shitty love triangle subplot. Both movies have it's strengths and weaknesses.

I think it's more that Infernal Affairs was mediocre at best while Departed is a middle of the pack Scorsese film which still puts it miles ahead of some cheesy Chinese cop flick

I did actually see it in theaters with someone from Hong Kong and he realized it was a remake right before Leo was shot in the elevator, which I thought was funny.

Quantify "way better"

I just didn't think Infernal Affairs was that good
