What happened to Boomerang?!

Then:
>Everyone loves a good mystery, even scooby and the gang! You're watching Scooby-Doo, on Boomerang, on Cartoon Network!
Now:
>TEEN TITANS GO, YOUR NEW FAVORITE SHOW!
>Wabbit
>Bunnicula?!
>Be Cool, Scooby Doo
>FUCKING GUMBALL?!!

I really don't get the change, Boomerang and it's slogan (that they don't even use anymore except for rare occasions but it still doesn't fit) doesn't make any sense anymore. Now it's a late night thing in a very small block. That wasn't the fucking point of the channel for like a decade or so.

I'm not just some angry red-faced neckbeard or nostalgia fag, their decision just really doesn't make any fucking sense.

>that week where the late night older block was replaced with a teen titans and gumball block
fuck the people behind the change

I never had Boomerang growing up (my cable provider never ever carried it), and was always jealous hearing my friends say what old shows from the Cartoon Cartoon days or cheesy HB toons that aired on there and wanted it for a long time.
Then, like 10 years later, my cable company finally starts providing it, and its fucking garbage.

Not many people cared about Boomerang for a long time. The channel was more or less left to die for years and it never did, creating an awkward space on TV between channels. I remember seeing ads for PPG "NOW ON BOOMERANG" Years after it was already on Boomerang. They more or less decided to reform it. I don't know if it was a drain on funds, but I don't really know if it's making back more of a profit then it was then.

Don't forget The Garfield Takes a Shit on His Reputation Show

back in 2000 when Boomerang had GOAT bumpers of any vintage toys like: Soaky Toys, Ramp Walkers, Hoppers, Tinykins, Push Puppets, Trapezes, Knickerbockers, etc.

and their backgrounds during that were: Blue, Yellow, Green, Purple or Pink & especially [PIC RELATED], but this was only used for saturday morning block.

i guess... those bumpers were made by Primal Screen, right?

Anymore music form Boomrang?

ME AND MY FRIENDS GET NO RESPECT

Boomerang was upgraded in early 2015 and shows 90% new cartoons and cartoons from the past 15 years and 10% old old cartoons. Before the upgrade they were showing commercials about getting checked for old people cancers like prostate cancer.

That song is great, thanks for linking user

At least it still exists, try being Canadian, they killed our Teletoon Retro that was the only good cartoon channel left

>1:00

Boomerang really is a waste of money.
With TV dying, Turner needs to pump more money and having a no commercial station made no sense at all.
So they threw in commercials, but no one watched that station.
They bended the rules of 'old' shows. Got more viewers.
They kept bending until one day Turner said fuck it and just used it as CN2, but kept it in a state where there was no chance of it stealing views from CN itself.

It's all about the profits. TV's margins are getting smaller and smaller.

Damn son, I kinda want to find more music in tv networks

Business is fucking depressing

Boomerang lowkey scared me as a kid with all its black and white shows

In my country we had a phase when Boomerang stoped with cartoons and became a femine teen oriented channel.

Shows about makeup, series that no one in history saw and documentaries of boy bands.

I heard that this has not happened in other countries, it is true?

I saw one of those toy bumpers earlier this year.

What country are you

>we will never see Johnny Quest, Herculoids, Banana Splits, Funky Phantom, Squiddly Diddly, or Hair Bear Bunch on Boomerang ever again

Brazil

I remember when Boomerang used to re-run Beakman's World. Good times.

>No more Banana Splits

Oh yeah! I saw he in a anime convention, my friend was chosen to be his assistant in the stage

The action block bumpers were so damn cool when I was younger.
I don't remember what shows were on there, but I remember those action figures, the robot voice, and music.

>try being Canadian
its your fault for being a place where shit shows are constantly put out

>Boomerang really is a waste of money.
Especially considering now it's just Cartoon Network 2 but instead of Adult Swim they just have a few short hours around midnight for flintstones and a few other things

>talking shit about that show
desu it was good man,

Im curious, guys.

If I was born in 1995, would you consider me as having grown up more with 90s to early mid 00s shows like Samurai Jack, Johnny bravo, Teen titans, and Avatar? Or did I grow up more with disgusting underage late 00s horseshit like Chowder, Flapjack, Out of jimmys head, Camp lazlo, and Total drama island?

FUCK the cartoonnetwork graveyard

>it was good
Isn't it still going? I read through an episode list out of boredom and it looked like it was doing a different format, being a half hour but telling stories in multiple parts or something, is that wrong?

What's happening to boomerang is what has happened to TV Land. Less of the old shit, more of the most recent shit, and making their own "original" shows. They're already taking this path with the "Peanuts" show. I personally am interested in watching it, but it won't be long before they air potentially uninteresting original shows. Many channels, throughout the years, have been straying from their intended themes. Boomerang is no different.

I remember getting LatAm Boomerang and it just became nothing but sitcoms and teen dramas

Nice, double dubs, but Supernoobs and Wabbit were made for Boomerang Originals too, they ended up mixing up airings between CN and Boomerang though. I'm sure we'll see the shorts on CN too.

Wow. Supernoobs too? I guess they reached to that potential after all.

Which is why I don't get why you guys don't just build your own collection and use an HTPC or Plex or something. Only what you want to watch without what you don't, whenever you feel like watching it. Shit like Plex even has a shuffle feature to create a random playlist, if "shit just coming on" is what appeals to you about cable.

Linear television just feels so antiquated in comparison.

>This is Boomeraction from Cartoon Network

Circles by Coughing Souls was pretty cozy when it would come out late at night

>watching television channels in the year 2016

The general homogenization of television is just the early death throughs of the medium. Cable used to be so profitable you could have specialized channels like the old Discovery Channel or TLC or MTV. Now they might as well all be the same network.

>current year

...

>Chowder
>Flapjack
>horeshit

Well one thing's for sure, you grew up with shit taste.

In this day of age just dump the shows on Hulu and Netflix and cut down the number of networks to 80 from 500+.

>day of age

>They stopped showing Centurions
>You will never POWER EXTREME along with the show again

A piece of my childhood, gone to the aether.

well all they play now is pawn stars and american pickers
