Dark Knight Trilogy beats out Captain America.
/thread

Only the Dark Knight is good though.

Nolanbats is still a strong contender. Yeah, TDKR was subpar, but so was The First Avenger. It's hard to even consider this a 'trilogy' given how much it relies on stuff that happens in the Iron Man and Avengers movies.

Despite the weakness of the third installment, the Dark Knight trilogy beats it by a country mile.

People will say Dark Knight trilogy but I thought thry all sucked personally.

C'mon, son

Oh, fuck you. Batman Begins was brilliant.

Is Cap 3 even a Captain America movie? It feels like Avengers 3 more than anything.

Still nolanbats, sorry

also it's hardly a trilogy because of how tightly wound it is into the other MCU movies

>Two great movies and a shit movie being better than one decent movie two great movies
wew lad

Fite me irl

...

Avengers 2.5, and then there's going to be avengers 3 and 3.5

TDKR has aged like milk.

imo, it is a Captain America movie, but only just barely. Doesn't change the movie's quality at all (I loved it), but calling it a Captain America movie was a bit of a stretch.

What exactly is your criteria for greatness in film?

The First Avenger was the epitome of meh, and Civil War was just okay.

I hope you're not actually saying Civil War was great

Garbage taste.

It was.

Select all images with a store front.

It's true though. Civil War was a lot of fun, but as a film it was just okay, not great.
The First Avenger was ruined by the No-Nazi rule (among other things).

Pretty much. X men might have been in this place if Singer had stayed for last stand. Nolan's comes pretty close but Ledger fucked it up big time by dying, no way they didn't have plans for him for the last movie. Even Spidey 3 might've been here if Sony hadn't forced Raimi to use Venom.

And then there's all the shit that happened since Cap 3's announcement.

For real, Feige's made some sort of demonic contract.

Too many factors to list, but I'll try and put it simply. Overall for me to at LEAST be able to consider a movie "decent", I don't want to be constantly noticing flaws and getting angry at shit throughout.

For example, I had an awesome time at Batman Begins and The Dark Knight, while TDKR had me either laughing at how stupid it was, or getting pissed off at how stupid it was.

>I can't kill
>totally gonna leave you on this train that's gonna crash though

it was garbage.

Civil war is the New Goat, but it needs Avengers and Ironman 3 just as much as the first 2 cap movies which holds it back from being best trilogy

It doesn't match the highs of Raimi's Spider-Man, but it's low points are the least low of any superhero movie trilogy.

So it's the most consistently good, if not the best overall.

The only thing remarkable about the Dark Knight trilogy is Ledger's performance.

For fucking real, this. If Ledger didn't die NOBODY would be sucking that movie's cock as much as they do. And I LOVE The Dark Knight, and Ledger's performance. But Jesus is it the most overrated movie ever because of him.

Batman Begins was masterful you ass.

I can't wait for the love for First Avenger to increase over the next few years. You can already see it happening.

It was still a great performance regardless of his death though.
We can talk hypotheticals all night, but as it stands critics and fans praise it quite a bit.

But thos are Nolan movies, you can't like them it's not allowed.

Also remember that positive RT scores only matter when talking about Marvel movies.

This, the real Bats doesn't kill, not because he don't want to, but because he can't, if someone dies because of him, he just go full joker himself

Reddit please, take your recent meme justification for the "no kill rule" and go kill yourself

Do you even post crisis kid?... Go read n52 or the new sjw bullshit retard

I have no clue why Sup Forums insists that movie was GOAT. It was okay at best and a bit boring at times. TDK was literally the GOAT super hero movie that has ever been created. The Winter Soldier comes close, but falls just a tad bit short.

I honestly have no clue why you all have "Begins" boners. It's such a mediocre film. Oh, and everyone can agree that Rises is a piece of shit that we can just pretend doesn't exist, right?

That was a major fuckup and it bugs me to no end, but Begins is still the best in the trilogy.

Seriously though, Nolan could have still killed Ra's if he really wanted to. Just cut that little bit of banter between them that totally reframes it from "Batman's ducking out and Ra's dies" to "Batman could have totally saved Ra's and decided not to because I guess the central fucking conflict in the movie (not to mention his personal conflict with Ra's), which is entirely based on his unwillingness to kill, just stops mattering when you're this close to the credits."

Everything before that is 10/10 though.

please stop trying to summon heaven it's not time yet

How important is Avengers to my viewing of winter soldier? I don't really care for team up movies

Blade Trinity is one of the worst superhero movies ever made.

shit taste mate

I believe you mean campiest. If you can't have fun watching that, you're dead inside.

You contrarians are hilarious. The movie was amazing.

Marvel makes you watch everything.

So don't bother, then.

No it wasn't. Not even close

>movies in a cinematic universe don't require you to watch the previous movies
WOW THEY HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH EACH OTHER WHY EVEN BOTHER MAKING IT A CINEMATIC UNIVERSE

>movies in a cinematic universe require you to watch the previous movies
MARVEL MAKES YOU WATCH EVERYTHING WHY EVEN BOTHER

Ok

>spider-man trilogy: 2 10/10 films
>tdk trilogy: 1 10/10 film
>x-men trilogy: 1 10/10 film
>iron man trilogy: 1 10/10 film
>captain america trilogy: 0 10/10 film

Captain America
Dark Knight (TDKR holds the trilogy back)
Raimi Spider-man (3 was garbo)

that order

>Captain America doesn't have a sweet musical theme like TDK or Raimi Spider-Man
IT'S YOU WHO'S OUT, CAP

It's literally a sequel to TWS with AoU's matters necessary because Cinematic Universe and shit.

This p much

Spiderman was GOAT I liked 3 too

It's amazing how Cap went from a literally who to #1 Marvel character.

Each movie made significantly more than the previous one and getting better reviews with each entry.

It's good to be a Cap fan

Direct sequel to WS. The only Avengers thing about it was the second act and the air port scene.

You can hardly call it a trilogy, to be honest. Cap 3 is an Avengers movie in all but name.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought of that.

Like hell he doesn't

Question: Do I learn anything about bucky in the movies between Winter Soldier and Civil War?

This desu, its mean is probably the highest, but its upper bound isn't.

Nope

Not at all.

Ant-Man's post-credits scene features Bucky, but it's just a bit from a Civil War scene.

Dang. then it's time to watch a low quality camrip of Civil War. Actually, I could just watch Ant Man first, because that movie looks great

I swear I'll read the comics related to these characters soon enough. It's hard reading 4 comics at once, let alone the 7 or 8 I want to read

There is nothing fucking wrong with Rises Besides Talia's death scene.

CW was definitely the best part 3 of any cape franchise, I'll give it that.

And EVERY FUCKING REFERENCE TO SOKOVIA, not to mention Scarlet Witch and the Vision.

Spider-Man 1 is really tacky desu. I'll agree on part 2 being awesome though.

Odd, I can remember (and hum tune of) the Captain America theme/motiff, can't think of the theme from TDK at all, was there even one? Was it the one with the french horn blasting my ear drum at full blast every couple bars?

Danny Elfman gave us both the Spider-Man theme and Batman 1989, which are memorable in their own right.

Fuck nolanites, they ruined the DC movieverse.

>Cap 3 is an Avengers movie in all but name.

It's a direct sequel to the events of Winter Soldier almost moreso than it is to the events of AoU.

Haven't seen Civil War but I expect it's good. However, it's not really a trilogy. You have to know and have seen/understand The Avengers to get a follow through from where Cap was at the end of The First Avenger and where he was at the start of Winter Soldier. And given who is Civil War, I'm not sure how you could follow what's going on without seeing or having some decent knowledge of Ultron and other stuff.

There are many trilogies see these are dumb questions and to an extent dumb comparisons. But yeah, I don't think the Nolan-verse was that great in sum.

Captain himself had a weirdly small role in his own movie beside the fight scene.

Everyone had at least one great character scene, but captain's role is really being the ass kicker and not much else.

It's actually the best ironman film since ironman 1.

This but it's close. I rate TDKR over Cap 1 and those are the weakest in their respective trilogies.

you may be right if it wasn't for Cap 1 which was as boring as any Thor movie.

Here, Ant-Man is awesome so far

>kills Ra's and his daughter
>saves Joker
Well I guess that does sound like Batman, but is that a good thing?

>. It's hard reading 4 comics at once, let alone the 7 or 8 I want to read
The biggest issue I have with comics is the crossovers that always force me to divert reading whatever it is I want to read and go read 15 other issues.

>TDKR

amen to that.

both are 2/3
cap had a bad start, batman had a bad finish

I've never understood Sup Forums's love for Begins. There's a lot of great stuff in it but it just doesn't feel like a Batman movie.

But the film follows Cap, with Stark being the antagonist. Its his, and Bucky's story

The other Avengers are pretty much just there for the airport fight scene.
