Rio 2016: 3rd World Country style

Oh I just cant wait for the zika to spread when all the atheletes go home.

>Where should we put the Olympics
>Prague? Chicago? Tokyo?
>Nah let's put it into a 3rd World Shithole with slums, drugs, and organ harvesting.

Great idea Olympic Community. I recommend Damascus for 2020.

Filipino athletes have also started to complain:

>"Of course, we’ve only been here for a few hours and we’re all very tired so it it is too early to really comment. The rooms are pretty small, some parts of the condominium are unfinished. We haven’t any cold water but nothing really bad and the volunteers have been very nice and accommodating,” Lim said.

>According to Romasanta, “many units have leaking pipes and low water pressure making it a problem for those staying in the higher floors. And beds are too small and not very comfortable."

>The official opening of the Olympic Village in Rio turned to fiasco with the discovery of blocked toilets and leaky pipes, prompting Australia to call the facility "not safe or ready."

>Even Brazilian athletes who were meant to have started taking up lodgings in the brand-new complex from Sunday were being kept in hotels instead.
>Britain's delegation said it, too, had encountered some "maintenance difficulties," but added it was staying in the Village as planned.

>The lack of preparedness in the Olympic Village was another embarrassing blow for host Brazil, which is struggling to show all will be well with the Olympiad.

>It is already facing low ticket sales, general public apathy amid a deep recession, fears over the Zika virus, and a spike in street crime as police complain of lack of resources.
>Australia's delegation highlighted the poor state of the Village, 31-building complex located in the Barra da Tijuca district in the west of Rio de Janeiro

>"Problems include blocked toilets, leaking pipes, exposed wiring, darkened stairwells where no lighting has been installed and dirty floors in need of a massive clean," the head of the Australian team, Kitty Chiller, said in a statement.
>During a test involving taps and toilets being turned on in apartments on several floors, "water came down walls, there was a strong smell of gas in some apartments and there was 'shorting' in the electrical wiring."

>Chiller later told reporters: "This is my fifth Olympics Games, I have never experienced a Village in this lack of state of readiness at this point in time."
>She added that, "in our mind, our building is not habitable" and the Australian team would stay on in nearby hotels.

Brazil is unfit for humans

pull out our athletes

I was watching sky news about 30mins ago and in the scrolling news at the bottom there was "Breaking news: Athlete in Rio kidnapped by "Police".
I was ready for some good keks, but they took it down now and I can't find any info on it elsewhere. We still have time though. Shit will probably go down down there.

eh, to be fair she said these were pretty minor problems that could be easily fixed over the next couple of days

Its a third world country. I feel bad for them. They didn't ask to be dumb monkeys and a few of their elite are exploiting them. And poor third world country would struggle to meet first world standards for Olympics.

There already was. Jay Lee from NZ was kidnapped by police and forced to withdraw money for a bribe

And they have to use communal toilets. Jesus Christ.

From the sounds of their sexual degeneracy its probably an improvement on them just shitting in each others' open mouths.

Wait a second, Brazil do the squat toilets?

This is what France had for our world championships last year. Good lord do these things get dirty.

They always look pretty clean when I see pics of them from India though?

>Brazil do the squat toilets?

They're mixed style, as you can see. To better accommodate people from different cultural backgrounds. At least they had sense enough to provide that.

But the streets look like they're covered in shit. Why do you think that is?

>Australians complaining

They're not from Sydney, that's for sure. That shit would run you a good 400 dollars a week here.

of course the Indian designation is the easiest to accommodate for
>just shit anywhere brah

>putting toilets so close to each other, expecting people to defecate in such close proximity

Do people really get used to that in anything but settings of emergency, combat, or extreme poverty? Why do they think world-class athletes would ever settle for that?

>Jason Lee from NZ was kidnapped by police

"A Kiwi sportsman in Brazil says he was kidnapped by men in police uniform and forced to withdraw money from ATMs."

“This place is well and truly f***ked in every sense of the word imaginable,” said Lee.

heraldsun.com.au/sport/olympics-2016/new-zealand-olympian-jason-lee--kidnapped-by-police-in-rio-de-janeiro/news-story/01b37f4d55f949be2fbac5cb10f6a79d

From the top political leaders to the cops on the street, no one gives a shit about making Brazil look good to the world. It's less of a real country than even Belgium.

Because world class athletes are shit tier humans who just have a month of focus every few years then go back begging to be used in protein ads.

>Why do they think world-class athletes would ever settle for that?

Brazilian contractors are trying to save money and maximize profit. They produce things to spec (well, often not even that), but if the specs don't explicitly say, for example, that walls should exist between toilets, they don't put them in. The corruption is rampant and blatant and shameless.

Thats Australia but they're just a bunch of overpaid poofs who can afford hotels to stay at.

Meanwhile a kiwi has been kidnapped by the police and will still play on and our accomodation was just as bad as australia but instead:
>"They had discovered plumbing and electrical issues at the New Zealand apartment block but had worked hard to quickly remedy those as they set about providing a Kiwi flavour to their HQ."

hahahah
