The places rich people go in Brazil are really quite safe. You can pay someone about 200 EUR a month to do your shopping and clean your house for you, and take Uber or taxis everywhere so you don't have to drive a car. Petty crime is actually pretty easy to avoid. I lived in central Goiania for four years, I was never robbed.

- I don't need a friend to show me around
- I'm not going to dark, quiet places by myself at night, but during the day everything is pretty fine
- Prices are as advertised (unless you're haggling with Chinese vendors on Canal St)
- Same -- it's best not to look like a tourist
- You're just trying to make a buck by saying Brazil is more safe and rip people off by robbing them when they stay with you!
