What went wrong?

What went wrong?

Too little, too late.

Completely uninspired writers and animators.

They saw how successful the MLP reboot was, so they threw a little money at an animation studio but they didn't bother hiring anybody with actual talent to make it all work.

So the basic designs are sort of cute enough, but the actual cartoons themselves were garbage.

>make 45 minutes of content
>run it on a streaming service that no one wants

...

It didn't have its own Sup Forums board.

No interracial gangbang episodes

Budget was really low, and they tried to cram a story that could've been spread out through a season into 3 episodes. The stuff with Stormy and the resolution of it just felt rushed.

Is that a white Dora?

Too short, and gimped by the awful streaming service.

But no one in the Star vs threads believed me when I said
>I miss Rainbow Brite

I thought Verbose Stallion was cool.

As it always needs to be pointed out...

I would fuck all the characters in this show.

ALL OF THEM.

They forgot to make it 80s as fuck.

...

...

...

...

Everything. Besides the overall poor quality and poor distribution, the voices were poorly cast. Especially Emily Osment, whom I do enjoy, but her voice was wrong for this character.

On top of all that, Rainbow Brite doesn't generate anywhere near the same amount of nostalgia as MLP, and Hallmark doesn't have the same kind of marketing savvy as Hasbro.

...

At least when I'm fapping to RB, I'm fapping to a human character and not...

Yeah, that makes it sooooo much better.

...

Never even saw it. Haven't seen any downloads.

>nostalgia
Almost nobody liked the previous gens of MLP, people liked the reboot because it was surprisingly good by its own. The makers of Rainbow Brite thought that it was as simple as making a girly cartoon with cute characters to make a fanbase and they didn't think they need it to actually be good.

There was no a /mlp/ board back in 2010, all the threads were here in Sup Forums until they started to ban pony threads because there was just too many of them. Then bronies created Ponychan and then Sup Forums made /mlp/.

Ha, if only.
...bigger. Hyper

it was way too short. an kinda cheap. But it was a decent reboot.

You know that movie ends with Rainbow straight murdering a bitch, right?

>Completely uninspired writers and animators.

This guy has it down. The animation was tired, the scripts were lame, there was no actual reason for it to exist. I don't even remember if there was any drive the plot beyond selling the redesigns.

The fact is was three episodes long on a pay site with less overall quality than Llama's with Hats didn't help at all.

Hallmark saw there was money in 80's nostalgia, put the minimal amount of effort in trying to get that money and it shows in that it's a cheap knock off designed with little understanding of the source material like G3.5 Babies.
