Star Trek Thread - Normie Edition

I've watched all the series except Enterprise, but am watching the new movies (2009) for the first time. I have one question.

Why was Bones, Spock, and Kirk the best bromace?

O'Brien and Bashir is a better bromance

op i honestly think you should consider returning to r.eddit

>Why was Bones, Spock, and Kirk the best bromace?

It's the perfect relationship of id, ego, and folksy southern doctor.

"Commander, tell me about your sexual organs."

It was the sexual revolution and people were suddenly open to the concept of male-on-male-on-male sexual relationships.

Bones and Spock were great, great characters. Kirk too, of course. Never could stand that Sulu.

>bromace
I am absolutely sure a woman came up with this term. It's the only way they can explain two men having a close bond, since all women are incapable of real friendship.

it's mostly dumbass guys who are using it so I doubt it

I've never heard a guy use the term. I've mostly heard it used by girlfriends to make fun of their guy's close friendships.

Most underrated: Harry Kim and Tom Paris

you've heard several use it in this thread. anyway

>en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bromance
>Dave Carnie is credited with coining the term as editor of the skateboard magazine Big Brother in the 1990s to refer specifically to the sort of relationships that develop between skaters who spent a great deal of time together.

surprise surprise, you're whining about nothing

So you're saying a woman coined the term and I'm right? Cool, thanks. Great chat.

the misogynist fucktard is really spoiling this thread

Yeah it was really epic before that sexist jerk started posting.

this

one of the few good threads in a sea of shit, just about to take off, and some stupid fucking woman hater decided to shit on it before it could become something, yes that's accurate

I agree. That is definitely what prevented this thread from taking off.

Because it was destined to end.

O'Brien and Bashir was NOT a better bromance than the Bones/Spock/Kirk hesome.

...

shouldn't scotty be a ghostly pile of ashes

Harsh

>It's the perfect relationship of id, ego, and folksy southern doctor
Ha ha!

Show yourself Shatner. We know you're lurking. Sharpie in pooper pls

Ha ha, do you post this in every Star Trek thread? I'm noticing a trend :D

No. Page 17 in my last book.

Hey OP, about to embark on the same journey. I've got all the original movies saved up to watch, and I think the whole of the original series is available in my Netflix region.

I have a viewing guide somewhere, got it from here. Will have to dig that up.

For now I just blast through ToS and then movies 1-6, right?

Picard was BETTER!
Yeaaaaahh, suck it ya TOS bitches! Ha-HAAAAA!!!

Anyone else think the whole thing about the Mirror Universe counterparts not being able to fit in with the regular Enterprise was a stupid idea? If anything they'd be even better at blending in given the level of calculation and treachery in their world.

Kirk Bones McCoy was decent. Ha ha!

>bromance
HAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAAHAHAHAHAH no they were gay

The Voyage home is my favorite ST movie. Their camraderie, charisma and friendship really shine through. It looked like a blast and hilarious to boot.

It was a great film except for Sulu. Ha ha, just kidding, Sulu was okay.

Sounds good

Its probably my second favorite. Khan's just too good

>that sinking feeling of dread whenever you think about Discovery

Shat = past tense of Shit

Go be one someplace else, you hamfisted has-been ham.
