One of the benefits of a more powerful and predatory government is that liberals use this powerful and predatory government to enrich themselves. They make their money due to government action, so they want the government to be used at every opportunity to enrich themselves.
Wealthy folks almost never feel the pain of the liberal policies they propose. Even if their tax rates went up 20% they can take the hit, or more likely pay for a better accountant and negate it.
Likewise on immigration; they don't live near poor immigrants, ride public transport, send their kids to the same schools, shop in the same stores....
It's all about convincing themselves and everyone around them how virtuous and altruistic they are. The poor are like pets to them and they don't even try to hide their disdain for real working class people.
These days they don't even have to worry about end-game mess where their revolution gets out of control and the rich get eaten; they've got money stashed all over and know they can get out of the country on a moments notice. Dirty fucks.

In general affluence from income makes you hard left wing while affluence from entrepreneurship makes you moderate right.
Middle and lower class are a mixture between hard right and moderate left.
There is a whole industry marketing socialist/borderline commie merch to retards in the West. This includes trite shit like t-shirts, patches, or angsty music acts, but also philosophy and writing. It's part of building an identity.
I'm saying in the West because elsewhere communist motifs are either part of national identity, or are treated the same as Nazi symbols.
