That is an incredible amount of troops for Rose to have if the cluster is mostly Crystal Gems.
I would say it lends evidence to Rose being very, very high up in the Imperial hierarchy.
tfw we will never see all the great battles and even greater loves, people who fight and die and rise up to fight again for what they believe in. Thousands upon thousands of years of war filled to the brim with heroes and villains that we only get a bare bones glimpse of.
It's a crying shame that we probably won't get an expanded look into the history of the Gems, or the Rose Rebellion, because there's a goddamn story there about multi-armed monstrosities, howling creatures who pull the very Earth and Ocean to their knees, a slave turned to a knight, and the relentless future that Rose Quartz saw coming.
Can you even imagine the tales that they could tell? A whole race of people who live and live and live and live, until all of the lights go out.

I think melting it at whatever its melting point is will destroy it. Peridot mentions the magma is made of the same stuff as her. Presumably if she was submerged in it she would melt back into her base components and be dead.
