IDW's main G1 series has high ups and downs but most of the current stuff is highly praised (check out Last Stand of the Wreckers as a sample)

Yeah. The IDWverse for Transformers has been pretty great. It's had creative ups and downs, but MtMtE is really fantastic. It starts with the Death of Optimus Prime one shot, which also debuted its twin ongoing Robots in Disguise, now just named Transformers. Before that by MtMtE's author was Last Stand of the Wreckers which was fantastic.

Although honestly I suggest just reading the whole of the IDW universe. The beginning Furman era was pretty good. The All Hail Megatron era was a bit shit, but it reads fast. The Costa ongoing era was... well shaky at times but it had some great highs. Then once More than Meets the Eye/Robots in Disguise started the whole things been very good, aside from one or two moments where Hasbro stepped in and told them it was time to sell one toy or another. MtMtE's author also did some cowriter work on the tail end of the Costa ongoing which reads well and starts to show off his style a bit, before he was handed his own series.

Iron Man's face creeps me out. I guess I'm not used to seeing Tony's real eyes through the eyeholes.

I'm pretty sure it's all on Google play although if it's anything like there pony comics they just stop bothering to keep them labled as a series and your library gets cluttered as fuck

One of the most recent issues showed Omnibuses for the recent IDW runs were available/going to be available. I'm sure there are collections for the previous IDW arcs, but I'm not sure if there are Omnibuses or if they'd even still be available. Just check for series names on the tfwiki and then search Amazon.
