Has it happend to you?

Has it happend to you?

Yeah, and I'm only 24

Not really, I'm autistic so I've hated everything popular since I was a kid.

I heard kids on the bus saying memes and talking about how much they liked Five Nights at Freddies.

So yes I suppose.

I was never "with it" at any point

Some girl at a concert asked me if I liked memes a few weeks ago.... I honestly didn't know how to respond. So I guess that's a yes

no really. i never been into fads and trends.

It happened to me
It happened to the Simpsons

damn kids with their zima, hula hoops and pacman video games.

I don't understand why people on this board are obsessed with interracial porn and cuckoldry so yeah I guess.

the earth roll so quick, now im old and bitter

without a doubt

I've never been "IN" to start with

But you do like memes

Same here.

Right after alt music stopped being cool. Though i guess you can't call it alternative when it's main.

Nah, i'm a deliberate reverse-contrarian and conscious late adopter so i always remain weird enough to stay cool.

hey guys hey remember when we were are cool and popular?

Haha yeah i remember bein with it my man. I used to hang with the bros all the time aha.
That was waay long ago aha back when i was dating stacy lol

>this

This as well. Dammit, I'm not as special as I almost tried to fool myself into believing.

yes

>people talking about our resident meme frog as if it's something new
Really rustles my justles

Not him but I never wanted memes to become a word used in common language and talked about all the time IRL

...

Aw man :(

Definitely happened to me with music. I feel like I can honestly say that music today is complete shit, and certain genres have basically completely disappeared and have been replaced by formulaic pop crap. I think that's objectively true, but I realize that's of course what every prior generation says.

I'm sort of with it for movies. But again, I think a lot of people agree the quality/type of movies that are released today vs. when I was younger has declined significantly.

I pretty with it when it comes to TV.

this ironic shitpost is all the proof i need.

Yes but not talking about them irl, plus I didn't want to pull out a "I'ma big guy uuuu"

>deliberate reverse-contrarian
so you agree with everything?

I felt bad for the guy not being ironic. But i understand ur suspicion

The fact that every popular movie released today is either capeshit, soft reboot or another unnecessary sequel/remake

I'm just waiting for Hollywood to die

I have no idea what a fidget spinner is

I was a PC nerd in the late 90's, back when being able to do a simple web search made everyone think you were a fucking god.

Now I don't really know how to work an iPad, and I don't use half the features of my phone.

i don't know any of the young actresses that are posted on Sup Forums

Seeing all these kids so into fidget spinners is weird. Must've been what Pokemon cards looked like for adults.

Stop this

I came here just to post this.

Me and my friends were looking up trash youtube yesterday and in like 5 vids the kids made a point to mention their fidget spinners

He's the only one at the table because the rest of the class is still in line

I could swear we had that shit in the 90s. It's baffling.

Yeah and im only 30.

On the bright side massive doses of vitamin D allowed me to get my erections back.

I was never really into rap, but the dubstep inspired rap of today is so bad that sometimes I'll just leave places like bars if it is playing.

>mfw i had a spinner in 1995
>stolen by some black kid in school
Middle school sucked. And to answer OP yes it has

Where in the US did you grow up

>grow up idolizing the skinny-jean wearing, PBR-drinking, dance-punk listening, '60s haircut-having, ironically cynical Hipsters of the late 2000s
>by the time I'm an adult and old enough to participate in this subculture they've all been replaced by craft beer-swilling, folk rock-listening, long beard-having, genuinely passionate cunts

I now know what the beatniks felt like after '67

Northern VA

>not a dindu in sight

Nice school.

wtf is this post?

no, I'm a really cool guy

Yep.

I enjoy video games, but nowadays, just about every community talking about games seems obsessed with YouTube celebrities, and the drama surrounding them.

It was already weird enough with their obsession over PewDiePie.

Most recent thing was them going absolutely nuts over some fat fuck nobody who got removed from Yooka-Laylee, and how it was apparently the biggest deal in the world.

I'm out of touch now. I just enjoy video games, I don't give a shit about all the drama shit that current gamers care about. Even talking about movies never gets as weird as talking about games.

Yes, that was the whole point, you get a C+ in reading comprehension. Would have been a B if you mentioned the late adoption.

I definitely dont get how kids can sit and watch somebody else play video games. its not like its a sport or going outside or something. You can literally be doing what they are doing

I enjoy watching other people play games with choices after I've finished them. I find it interesting to know what others did versus my experience.

I'm 21 and it seems that after I graduated hs, teens immediately shifted from being unironically retarded(as they always are throughout history) to being ironically and self-awaringly retarded. Like all the "dank meme" stuff.

Yes, the early 2010s weren't that long ago and yes I'm a youngfag compared to many of you guys. But cliques and the world in general move so fast nowadays due to the rise of the social media, that I think someone can look back on 2013 and say "That was a different time".

Same, it really put me off finding stupid shit funny.

holy shit rare LUM send em 2 da essence reference senpai

I'm 34 and tried to watch 13 Reasons Why recently. I quickly realized that nothing about it appealed to me.

yes

Not yet. I'm 32 and at this point I think I'm probably good enough to last the next 25 years or so. If you keep up with the news and stay active online in places like Sup Forums you can stay informed enough to understand current trends even if you aren't taking part in them.

It helps that most things are cyclical. Very little actually new stuff comes around.

This

What's the issue with these? Only autists get mad over kids enjoying a simply toy. It's embarrassing to see adults berate the use of a toy so.

Same. I also got married and stepped into the bubble at 19 though so I have an excuse.

Hey look dude, I found a picture of you.

Reading about stuff on the internet =/= youre with it

You make a good point. The average age on Sup Forums's busy boards is probably around 19. I graduated high school in 2000 and it's not like 17 year olds now are doing anything that's all that different. Stupid shit like trying to flip a water bottle just "goes viral" now thanks to smartphones.

Not much has changed sine like 2009. Just more normies on the internet thanks to social media, and Sup Forums is no longer the sole provider of memes.

The rise of SJW culture didn't happen until about 2012. That was the last big shift.

those guys were lurking around back in the late '00s as well. they just started to bubble over towards the mid-'10s, and now they're on the decline.

t. 15 year olds

It's good enough, and as I said most trends are just rehashes of things that came before. I don't watch Rick and Morty but I can see the appeal to younger people. Same thing has happened with the South Park and Family guy in the recent past.

SJW's never "rose". They never really existed to begin with. Not the way Sup Forums depicted them. SJWs might just be the biggest non-existent bogeymen in the history of the internet.

>Good enough
So no, youre not with it. Thanks.

You can always she who's under the age of twenty whoever you see dumb shit like this.

You kids think "SJW" culture, whatever the fuck that is, is somehow new. I'm gonna let you in on something. The act of calling people out on having shitty opinions is much older than you or I.

"SJW" has to be the stupidest internet boogeyman ever.

Long ago. I'm 32.

I hate almost everything that's popular today, especially music.

Absolutely correct. Sorry to burst your bubble guys.

quit samefagging SJW retard, we heard you the first time.

>The act of calling people out on having shitty opinions
Butthurt SJW detected

Jesus, I must be out of the loop. I had to google what they were and even now I don't know why anyone would want one

>two different people can't have similar opinions

yes, 28
I already feel old because nobody likes what I like anymore

mm yes, two separate posts that are eerily similar posted within minutes of each other.

How old are you? I could swear toys like that have been around for like 20 years. I just wasn't familiar with the name "fidget spinner".

>two different people can't have similar opinions

They were, just now theyre being marketed to autistic and adhd kids, so naturally every parent in the US thinks their little child has it so theyre buying them up

Are you referring to all blacks or a specific breed of blacks? Because I'd wager the girl with the dreads has a little African in her.

Kek I had to look up what those were. It looks like something you could buy at your local science center gift shop.

Things I need to do to prevent it from happening to me:

>buy a spinner toy and get it confiscated
>drink lean
>learn to appreciate the Chainsmokers
>do the water bottle trick
>create and run a Minecraft roleplay server
>hire a personal assistant so I can spend more time dabbing
>???

32.

They may have been out but I never saw one.

Dindus are male. There's nothing wrong with black women or race mixing with them, so long as you abort any male babies.

They look like those junky little toys I remember seeing in gift shops and in the impulse buy section at the front of Walmart or whatever.

someone post that webm of the morbidly obese nigress lobbing a table across a gymnasium.

It's even worse when you're in your 30's and the utterly shameful bands you hated in your youth are now considered elder statesman, legendary tier heroes by young people.

Oh definitely. Just think of all the shitty pop punk bands that were on the radio in the early 00s.

True.

But good luck pointing this out to an adolescent who thinks they discovered everything.

Even worse, I'm thinking about 90's bands.

All those awful 00's pop punk bands completely passed me by, thank fuck.

curious to know which bands of the '90s are met with scorn by people of that time.

I'm hip with the memes.
Technology is getting lost on me though.

Like twitter and instagram and all that.

twitter is like a decade old dude, you must understand how it works by now.

Probably most of the late 90s rap/metal shit.

I feel you can't really get across how dominated by media revisionism 90's music feels like today.

Nirvana and Pearl Jam and so on were absolutely huge in the mainstream for normies for a few years and then it was done. Everyone I knew was into completely random by comparison stuff like Carcass or Shellac or stuff like Goldie and Ritchie Hawtin or Massive Attack or Pop Will Eat Itself. I'm naming more popular acts here, but the point I'm trying to make is shit like Nirvana was absolutely normie as fuck music for people of that day who are like the people of the 80's who liked Poison.
