I'm trying to remember the title of a comic I saw posted once.
It's about two boys, one black, the other white, that are friends. There's a woman with a Mohawk that takes them to a nude beach.
I think the comic itself is very old but the version I saw was an update.

By comparison, the Spirou and Fantasio comics are lacking in waifus, but they're amazing as comics. Wish I had any of them scanned so I could storytime.

Frenchfag here, most of franco-belgians comics are shit in fact, or with a "too french/belgian" humor not really understandable for a foreigner. (especially the ones about comedy).

the real good ones are mostly the classics.

I live in a French-speaking country, I have a library full of comics right next door.
The reason I want the download link isn't to read them, I can read them any time, it's so that I could storytime some. In particular, I wanted to storytime the latest Spirou album where the Marsupilami returns.

I have to assume it's french word-play. Like the french word she says sounds a lot like a type of beer. Which also explains why she says "clitoris" when it makes much more sense to say "vagina" or similar.

Europeans have a very different understanding/approach to sexuality and the depiction of the former in comics. Japan is totally fucked up just look at all the shota, tentacles, nipple fucking etc etc. but at the same time they have these weird censorship laws in place. Franco porn (let us not forget Italy and Spain here either) can be krass but not nearly as fucked up.

True, from what I read the Americans where basically scared shitless after they occupied the country and saw what went on in print media amongst other things. "The Art of Censorship in Postwar Japan" is pretty great on the topic.

The experience of the French was that GIs thought nothing of desecrating holy sites and having sex in front of children on their quest of busting a nut. So them being scared of stuff that's just chicken scratch to them is just wierd.

Cinebook is publishing quite a few translated version. So the actual books French or English you can just buy on amazon.com or amazon.fr . Getting digital copies (legally that is, tons of stuff on kat.cr etc.) is a hassle but COMIXOLOGY is okay (also owned by amazon).

They're often very different in theme, imagery and page layout.

Cinebook has softcovers and not really good print quality (however I heard that the quality varies a lot between books).
French originals are all beautiful hardcovers.

I buy both of them from Amazon, but I live in Europe, they might not send shit to you if you are in America.

I don't think percevan was intended to be a children's comic.

Spirous is great for those "AM I really reading a magazine for kids?" moments, though. You got sex, violence, horror, the whole package. Can't blame them for making young people discover titles like Jeremiah, Bluberry or Soda, but still.

Alexia is a great example of that. It's an absolute blast, but definitely not for pre-teens.
