They went there and he was gone

He made deductions for traveling expenses.

He checked the menu and the tax policy (while flying a riverdancing eagle)

This

They asked around

it was the will of the force

When they went to check if Frodo had filled his tax returns and they weren't in the archive.

Correct answer. Always follow the money

They LITERALLY asked around

so they just believed hobbits who said" sorry bro frodo left?"

ANYBODY SEEN FRODO?

think he went towards Bree, mate

They asked around and found them easily because the Shire is AnCap and has few roads.

Why didn't the fellowship listen to gandalf's last words and fly into Mordor?

They tried calling him and it went straight to voicemail

They were wandering the lands in the search for the ring for years and years, and they were close to the Shire.

That's why Gandalf told Bilbo to give the ring to Frodo and get the fuck out of there.

Why does he say Fly again?

Gollum told them to go to the shire, and when they got there he wasn't there.

The eagles, he wants them to stop being dumb and use the eagles.

He realized it was a fucking stupid plan to just walk into Mordor so he told them to go get the eagles.

>That's why Gandalf told Bilbo to give the ring to Frodo and get the fuck out of there.

No that's not why. Gandalf tells Bilbo to give Frodo the ring because Bilbo promised. Gandalf didn't know it was the one ring until later. Even then he knew the ring was perfectly safe in the shire until he learns later on that gollum told sauron to look in the shire.

Then when he comes back why doesn't he fly?

Because he realized everything's fine so he continued trolling them.

You see, if you're immortal the only way to experience joy in life is by being a complete dick to the lesser races.

Uh, he does. Multiple times.

stop

what form did he use?

What's the point when he can't find frodo

He booked United

Did Frodo invest with Bank of the Shire or White Citadel Group?

Fly is an old school synonym for flee

Why did Saladman set up his entire operation in a spot that could easily be wiped out through the simple destruction of a dam?

he had a name change so it no longer matched the one on his passport

Fuck off retard.

why didn't Frodo just tell the Witch King:
"I'm not Frodo"

Fucking snitching midgets

fuckin' bill ferny, man

Where does the Pumpkin figure into all this?

>he doesn't think that "fly, you fools" is a nod from Tolkien that, yes, they could've just flew into Mordor with the eagles.

He posted it on facebook before he left.

reminder there was a fifth hobbit in the book who got shanked to high fuck covering the other hobbits escape from the shire

Cuz they're magic, ya dingus.

Somebody probably tagged Frodo or "checked him in" at the Prancing Pony without telling him first. I hate it when people do that stuff.

1099-HBT

ANYBODY KNOW WHY FRODO STOLE THE RING FROM BOBBY LUPO?

Can we please get some taxposting up in here?

It is the most patrician meme along with Caspereposting

Bank of the Shire, they really focus on the young members of their community, free checking accounts to those under 40.

They felt drawn towards the one ring.

Really? Who?

>keep it secret
>keep it safe
This wasn't Gandalf's first audit. He knew how to avoid taxes on "undocumented" orc wages.

He literally put the ring on gazillion times, how could they not know

Yup. Also, this isn't even the extent of what happens, the movie is quite cut down.

fatty bolger

seems he survived unscathed after all. always thought he got the same treatment as the pillows in the prancing pony

He wasn't shanked up was he? I thought he was just imprisoned?

Isn't it like 17 years between Frodo having the ring and him actually leaving? What the fuck, the movie makes it seem like he leaves basically right away.

Because they knew that he lived in Bag End and when they got there it was a logical next step to assume that he was trying to leave the Shire. On top of that they literally ran into one of the Ringwraiths on the way to the raft in Buckland. Lastly the Ringwraiths are literally drawn to the ring and so they were able to sniff out his general trail.

It was the creation of a dam not its destruction. He knew that Rohan's inefficient taxation structure meant that any attempt to build such a large public project wouldn't even get out of the planning committee so he thought he was safe, he didn't figure for the use of voluntary labour from the ents who unknown to him had an efficient system of tax write offs for volunteer work.

I think the movies omit the 17 year gap between the party and Frodo leaving.
In the book this is where Gandalf is doing research and realizes that Bilbo's ring is the One.

>fatty bolger
what about in the scouring of the shire?

Because they can sense that he has the ring. Frodo even put the thing on.

During Saruman's rule of the Shire he led a group of partisans fighting against the Ruffians around the Hills of Scary, before eventually being captured. He and his sons were imprisoned in the Lockholes and starved, meaning that after his release nobody could call him Fatty any more.

Where were the wizards during the war in the prologue?

In the undying lands.

These.

They asked around, and every time he put the ring on they got a sense of his location when he put it on.

It's an important aspect, since Frodo's time with the ring, even if not as long as Bilbo's is still more significant - which better explains how it's already gotten its claws into him.

Gaffer Gamgee told them

They saw him leave? Fucking retard

they drop the 16 year gap. they also dropped the whole plotline of gandalf and aragorn tracking down gollum.

it's also kind of strange when bilbo calls the ring 'my precious' gandalf says that it's been called that before but not by him. how the fuck would he know that? he didn't even know gollum had the ring

frodo didn't put the ring on until they found him, so they couldn't have seen him in the spirit world yet

Why can Frodo jump 3 feet to the ferry but a Magic HORSE can't?

because thats not how it went down in the book

Why were they tracking gollum, if they didn't know he had the ring at one point?

The horse isn't magic.

Did you know that cursed rings are the number 1 reason of Nazgul attacks?
I really hope Aragorn passed some cursed ring restriction laws after he became king.

>implying curse ring control works

i forget. but aragorn and gandalf somehow learned that he was taken prisoner and tortured then escaped.

It was when Gandalf was suspicious of the ring and did a bunch of research and he tracked down Gollum and asked him a bunch of questions about it and then imprionsed him in the Mirkwood prisons were the elves kept the Dwarves in Bilbos adventure and then he escaped or some shit and travelled to Mordor or was captured and under torture he said "Baggins" and "Shire".

Something like that.

Why didnt eru iluvatar simply delete melkor/sauron from existence

what was the blue wizards purpouse? What did they do? Was Tolkien a hack?

>implying it doesnt
Undying Lands have cursed ring control and it works!

isildur may have call it that
nazguls horses are afraid of water as nazguls afraid of fire

Gollum is caught by Suaron's spies and tortured in Mordor first. Aragorn and Gandalf catch him when he is released from Mordor and hand him over to the Elves in Mirkwood

No they don't. Gandalf sailed in there with his cursed ring.

He read s isildors diaries

'it is precious to me'

They were the tax wizards perhaps??

it woud've been easier to just say the blue wizards died fighting the witch king but no, tolkien had to be misterious about it

Because there are no cursed rings, they are imported.
This is why they dont allow immigrants.

Magic?

How is allowing imports of cursed rings effective ring control?

So why didn't the Nazgul try to find Bilbo after he put on the ring a fair few times when he was in the Shire?

They were probably too far away to notice and Sauron was probably weaker at that time.
After all, even to people in Gondor and Rohan the Shire is a little known place.

Only maiar in service of the government are allowed to have cursed rings.

Did you not read the book? Oh wait I'm on Sup Forums...

>he trusts the government with rings

So, in the modern world we know, who are culturally and socially the closest people to Hobbits?

Alcoholic, lazy, low IQ, stoners who are generally happy and oblivious to the world.

But they couldn't and Tolkien explicitly said this

Tolkein never said this.

If some nobody could kill smaug I bet the whole mordor could kill the eagles

The world is grey, the mountains old,
The forge's fire is ashen-cold;
No harp is wrung, no hammer falls:
The darkness dwells in Durin's halls;
The shadow lies upon his tomb
In Moria, in Khazad-dûm.
But still the sunken stars appear
In dark and windless Mirrormere;
There lies his crown in water deep,
Till Durin wakes again from sleep.

he reads isildors diary after he says that to bilbo
