There are people in 200k+ debt for worthless degrees like sociology, gender studies, etc

There are people in 200k+ debt for worthless degrees like sociology, gender studies, etc.

Why do they study these? What do they expect to make our of college?

(I have 10k debt remaining from my first year and I expect 350k+ debt from 4 years uni and 4 years medical I'm kinda fucked myself desu)

fell for the STEM meme $590000 in debt work as a fluffer at gay porn shoots. At least I'm not a fucking homo right?

Why are your universities so expensive? Do you pay your professors more, or is it just to lube the wheels of Jewry?

Why are your university prices so high? its like 4-8k here unless its medical school

Average professor salary is like 120,000 but yea the second is pretty much true

It's around 15-25k here

If you tried taking out $200,000 worth of student debt here without a medical school enrollment they'll tell you to go fuck yourself

Post a timestamped photo of your degree.

Well most profs in these 'highly ranked' universities are Jews so.

>why do they do this?

BSc and Masters in Political Science @ UMich and LSE in the UK. Top fucking schools. Not even 5k in debt.

Stop with this meme, I'm a smarter investor tham you are am I'm 24. I'm able to pay off my McGill PhD TODAY and I dont start til the fall, not that I need too I have fully funded research amd assistantships awarded.

I know undergrad (LOL) engineer grads and cs major chopping trees for asplundh inc in northern ontario. Useless fucks the lot of them. Go engineer your way out of 16.50/hour.

Laffin at stem memer's all dayto my job at global affairs canada. Oh and I also got 99th percentile on the LSAT, so maybe I'll do law school for free too.

Kys stem cucks!

I got my bachelors in nursing for a total of 15k. I have no damn clue how these people rack up such insane debt.

>knockoff doctor

Enjoy your shit wage and hours you ass-thermometer fetish having goof

Yes but you accepted being cuck.

why not go study to european country for free or almost free education ?

European degree isn't worth as much as an American

Yeah, this. Outside of the UK, European Universities simply cannot compete with American ones.

The study these because it's easy and it's something they are interested in,
They will never use it in real life though. They will end up working at McDonald's after they get and and default on their loans.

>mfw when literal retards are knocking a guy for taking a fraction of the debt and still making well over $100k per year just because their own fat asses don't understand how important nurses are

I got out of school a few months ago and I got my first job starting at 42/hr at the local ER.

I know I'm not going to make as much as a doctor but I was poor as fuck and worked through my degree

>Nurses
>Shit wage
Maybe in Canada you salty fuck

yo anyone with the extra flags extension, what the fuck is up with my state flag

Nah senpai they make some decent monry while doing jack all

Government metholodology for subsidizing it ironically.

>Studying law
Fucking disgusting

They are completely useless as workers, but not smart enough to be a patrician. So they look for feel good degrees which will lead them nowhere, and give them another reason to complain about the goverment and how its "failed them".

If you arent smart enough to be stem or some other equal, then dont go to university. Dont settle for an easier degree like psychology or gender studies to have on your resume, just fuck off and go to starbucks or wherever you will end up anyways.

There are leaders and followers in a capitalist system, there is no in between.

Well done, user. In your mid-twenties, you're making more money than 80% of these idiots.

>there is no in between.
>The middle class/small bourgeois doesn't exist.
Wtf is this meme.

It mostly has to do with the increased size of administrations and the competition for Federal funding. All of these colleges are basically corporations, with some, like Harvard and Yale, wielding the economic power of small countries.

In the US, post-secondary education has become less about actual job preparation or liberal arts education, and more about treating students as consumers and competing for their dollars.

I'm 12k in "debt" on my degree which I obtained a related job within 2 months afterwords. I could pay off the remainder in full, but alas, it's good for building credit. I like spending the surplus of money I have on investments.

>Nurses defending each other.
Top kek.

>le building credit meme
Good goy.

>mexican
>probably prays to quetzlcock to mend his wounds
>probably gets the rape dog to lick infections away from his cartel friends

>184,000
>50 years old

what a fucking retard

Dammit, I wish I knew they were going to do this sooner. Would have been fun to wear a $0 sign and a MAGA hat.

Im not talking about wealth, more about how the intelligent people (scientists, engineers, etc) get their work done by the lower, less intelligent people (laborers, investors; which are middle class wealth wise, since they make more than the lower class but less than the upper; and so on). The people op refered to try to wedge their way inbetween the two and no one is buying. Nobody wants a gender sociologist or whatever shit theyve made up now except to teach the next generation of idiots.

>in school for stem
>gf is paying the bills
>I have a job that let's me work when I want to work
>as long as I stay below a specific, yet fairly generous amount, my uni will take my Stafford loans and give me the remainder of my tuition in grants
>~$14,000 this year in grants
>any scholarships I get are still given directly to me
>tfw world class University with world class engineering programs costing me less than $5,000 a year

Kek

this was intentional

they wanted to create a slave class that owes debt to the state.

>70,000
>240,000 house
>all from capitalism
>at a burger joint

fuck your college

I have no debt and im going to school for a job that will land me 80k-120k lol

git gud skrubs

also i have no job

GI BILL is god

>Look another nurse.

>poly sci major
o I am laffin

top kek indeed, mexico you guys don't even have medical pro any kind lol! you swim around in shit and urine lol

It's because we care more about paying our tenured teachers a higher salary than we do giving students a better opportunity to a higher education.

It's bullshit, if you ask me. Doesn't need to be this way.

>tfw just a 18 year old with no job

>less intelligent people
>investors;
>since they make more than the lower class but less than the upper
Are you an enginneer?

>nursing
>over 100k/year
He'll be lucky if he makes half that

I have about $15k after M.S. in C.S. meme degree. I have it in a $1.99 Walmart document frame.

...

Post a picture of it.

I I just want a well paying job...

I'm just curious why you hate nurses

Almost exactly the same here, except my credit is amazing so I don't even care

Holding debt is not good for building credit.

What do you do user? And what does "well paying" mean to you?

>Be me
>Computer Engineer BS
>60k debt
>Just accepted my first real job
>75k a year starting
>Up to 2 raises per year
>Expected promotion within 1-1.5 years

People who got a degree in STEM and can't make anything of it are the people
that mooched off everyone else's projects and never truly understood the material.

I don't hate them, it is just bantz. All my immediate family members are doctors so... yeah.

Don't worry, as the "STEM" meme continues to be pushed, all of those majors will be watered down too. The EXTREMELY LIBERAL "big college" kikes will need to water down the degrees to allow for the influx of retards (i.e. women and dindus) currently flooding the applications.

> LOL SCIENCE, HEHE, JUST GIRL THINGS :)

Trust me - I just graduated with a CS degree. Our capstone course was about "Social Issues in Computing". Department chair was a raging leftist (also literally gay) faggot who seemed content in ruining an already weak curriculum with absolute bullshit, leftist propaganda courses. All in all I did a supposedly 4 year program in 3 years without even trying. Complete joke!

YOU HEARD IT HERE FIRST FOLKS.

in what ways do mexican doctors differ from real doctors?

>Social Issues in Computing
tell me more

That is pretty cool actually, I have one doctor in my family. But god damn I cannot imagine going to school to be a doctor and paying yourself through it.

...

I don't really get why someone would take on so much debt for a degree with no applications. But I REALLY don't understand why a bank would GIVE someone a loan for one.

>Don't worry, as the "STEM" meme continues to be pushed, all of those majors will be watered down too. The EXTREMELY LIBERAL "big college" kikes will need to water down the degrees to allow for the influx of retards (i.e. women and dindus) currently flooding the applications.

I think this definitely COULD happen, but is far less likely given that the accreditation process for some of these degrees is very difficult. So unless the accreditation boards buy into the changes some of these places are making, they probably will not change too quickly.

>Why do they study these? What do they expect to make our of college?

Because there was a time where a middle class kid could get a liberal arts degree and be able to pay it off.

As colleges shifted from centers of learning to giant day cares (and loans became more accessible) college administration started adding all kinds of useless shit onto campus to try and attract more people. Have a shit football team? New stadium. No tradition of hard sciences at your college? Build a 20 million dollar lab that will go half used. Gyms, computer labs full of macs, high tech classrooms that use the latest in useless buzzword crap. All this shit costs money not just upfront but also in maintenance, so the expenses get passed on to the students.

What might have been a decent education for a reasonable price is now a laser-light-show for a kings ransom.

Of course all these morons have been sold the idea of college by people who went before everybody was supposed to go, and prices were sky high. Also the Jews want as many people to go as possible because bachelor programs are essentially brainwashing.

respect to ur family m8, a doctors a doctor

just had to meme :^

>Government gives out loans to students
>Finish 1st year med school
>I'm in about 15,5k debt
>Interest rate is 0.6%
>Most doctors i know told me they finish paying off their student loans within 3-5 years
The future looks bright
I don't understand why people would take out loans to study stupid shit like liberal arts

>paying yourself through it.
>paying yourself
Hahaha, no. I did not study medicine though. I deeply regret that decision.

$15,5k*
I should have specified the currency

Is History one of these useless degrees?

>tell me more
Computers be racists and shit my nigga

...

tbqh I found that the biggest money spenders when I went to university wasn't tuition but housing + food + utilities.

>I don't understand why people would take out loans to study stupid shit like liberal arts

Entitlement. They feel like because that is their passion, everyone should support them in it, regardless of the actual social benefit their education provides.

I'll be finishing my MS in Applied Econ in spring with about 70k total, but I've done research and can get jobs paying 60-80kish in my area once I'm finished.

It's a lot of debt, but I'll be able to pay it. I straight up don't get how people rack up 100k+ without it being med school or law school or some shit.

Also
>that cunt with the $14k sign

Does she think that's a lot or something? I suppose it probably is a lot when you're clockin $8/hr with your theater degree.

...

>> falling for the bait

>They feel like because that is their passion, everyone should support them in it
I understand the whole "follow your dreams" thing. But they have to at least consider that they might not become a hollywood actor or a world famous musician.
Could they really be that delusional?

>Could they really be that delusional?
>chris-chan

You just know if these universities weren't centers of leftist indoctrination, congressional Democrats would be ANGRILY DEMANDING to know why these places get away with charging more and more for a product that's worth less and less.
BUT since they are leftist indoctrination centers, that question is never raised. Instead it's imperative that the government shovel even more money at them, subsidize every dumbfuck who wants to take a 5-year booze-and-pot-and-sex vacation, and punish the banks for insisting that their loans actually be paid back at some point.

>Could they really be that delusional?

Yes. This is the byproduct of the "everyone wins/gets a trophy/special snowflake" ideology. The concept of struggle and hardship is pretty much absent in most of these people's minds.

Sociology isn't worthless at all, I took it alongside my BA and I've probably made more then your entire bloodline put together ever has, or ever will.

It's just a matter of applying your education towards a career. Even gender studies could potentially be useful. I know people who specialize in data parsed by gender, they've been vital resources for as long as I've been in marketing (and in at least one situation, long, before as well).

It's the same with anything else, if the application of your talents and knowledge is only academic, then your personal compensation will be at the whims of whatever funding might be available for your area of study.

People's main problem in regards to utilizing degrees is that they're not making plans to work towards, at all. Most people with any kind of a degree could create a position for themselves somewhere if they sold themselves correctly.
With some degrees, you can just put your resume out there and wait as if you're catching a fish, and you will get a worthwhile job.
But with other degrees, it could take more leg work and ancillary preparation and training to start a career.

>Dragging chris into this
Cmon user, he's an actual autist.
I'm fairly certain most lib arts majors aren't autists
Narcissists, most likely
But not autists

I have a little over $250k in debt. Mortgage, truck, wife's car, boat. Never went to college. Trump 2016

>Sociology isn't worthless at all
Yes it is. It offers nothing to society whatsoever except subversion and buzzwords.

If you get a medical degree surely it would be worth it? You make that back on like one patient

I don't get how these people manage to rack up that much debt. I graduated with an economics degree about 3 years ago. I went to school online so I could do it whenever I wanted. it was something like $2500/quarter, and it took me just under 4 years cause I went to school year round.

for a few months after graduating I had 2 jobs, 30hrs a week for the state parks, and 20-30 hours a week at a dog day care. about a year ago I stopped working for the parks cause I'm too lazy, now I just work at the dog day care. considering I haven't gotten a job relevant to my field, I'd consider my degree in economics "useless" or "unused", least for the time being. I do intend to open a business or get a real job one day, but life's good at the moment.

I have already managed to pay off all of my debt. now I just work like 30hrs a week and smoke weed all day.

feelsjongoodman

also... any NEETs should look into degrees online. lots of decent schools have them, and you can do it like 95% from home. the classes never have attendance, it's mostly just homework, discussion boards, tests/quizzes, and maybe essays or projects.

You'll get over feeling like you have to have an opinion on things that you don't know anything about once you actually develop an aptitude for something. Good luck with that.

I was considering computer engineering

is it heavily reliant on math or physics? because I'm bad at those

>I don't get how these people manage to rack up that much debt. I graduated with an economics degree about 3 years ago.
>I went to school online so I could do it whenever I wanted.
>I'd consider my degree in economics "useless" or "unused", least for the time being.
>I went to school online
>school online
WTF

i have no clue goy. I guess we'll never know

>tfw never went to school
>tfw make over 50k a year and get paid to go to school
>tfw have A.A.S., working towards bachelors, and I've spent a total of maybe $500 on school/school supplies.

We subsidize education with no real entrance or bar to overcome to qualify for funding. In countries where it is free they do a better job breaking up kids based on mental ability.

In the US everyone that wants to go can. So many that shouldn't do. They get debt and either drop out or drop into a stupid degree so they can graduate. End result is debt and either no degree or a worthless degree.

Colleges now gear towards attracting dollars with mega gyms and cafeterias and fancy everything. You are basically buying 4+ years of a posh life. You basically have 4 years of drinking, screwing, doing drugs or just playing xbox.

The problem is the culture of the nation prevents a workable solution. Cut off loans would force colleges to compete to be cheaper, but that would mean making college less affordable, but would make it cheaper.

Free college would kill us unless you limited to gifted people or in demand degrees (high paying). This creates a racial and possibly sexist problem. Not truly sexist or racist, but here you only need to appear to be a bigot to be one. Asians especially, but also whites would score better on exams and benefit, others would largely be underrepresented based on percentage of race in the populace.

This would lead to either abandoning the program or different standards for different races, which many colleges have already implemented for entrance exams.

Most problems in the US simply have no viable solution because the fixes would be considered unacceptable.

>I was considering computer engineering
>is it heavily reliant on math
>because I'm bad at those
Do you even know what computer engineering is?

Sucks to your assmar

Why does it seem like everyone that goes to college ends up turning into a marxist Bernie supporter? Is college just another scam designed to brainwash gullible idiots?

Yes, we know there are plenty of people with various liberal arts degrees who have well-paying jobs. Great for them.
The great unaddressed fact is that so many college students are only there because they've been told by their parents, teachers, whoever, that unless they get a college degree, they'll be waiting tables or pumping gas for the rest of their lives. They have no self-motivation nor any particular interest in any academic subject, so they pick whatever major they think will be easy to pass. So you wind up with a glut of college graduates in certain fields who don't remember a thing they learned two weeks after graduation. This is the opportunity Democrats want everyone to have.

Private vs public. Also in state vs out of state. Many kids want to do private. So 20-50K a year instead of 4-10. Also out of state is practically as expensive as private.

Kids make dumb choices and they have no concept of money at 18. Teachers beat it into you that you need to go to college to get a good job or your life will suck.
