Takashi Miike-thread

Ive seen:
Ichi The Killer
Audition
13 Assassins
Harakiri
Visitor Q
Dead or Alive
Imprint
Izo

Any others you guys suggest I watch?

I really liked Gozu

You may not have ever heard of these films, but check out The Mole Song (1 & 2). I don't think you can pirate them, since they really only get shown at festivals, atleast that's where I saw them.

>"a yakuza dog?!"

This.

Also, if you want a real trip, watch his kids movie, Zebraman.

I liked the first movie in his Black Society Trilogy from the 90's, Shinjuku Triad Society. The focus on a half-Japanese protag and his interactions with people in other countries (just Taiwan really), along with the cool and extreme violence make it fun for me to watch. The other two just weren't as engaging.

Zebraman

I have these on my computer (but havent seen them):

Mole Song
Yakuza Apocalypse
Terra Formars
Crows Zero

can anyone tell me which of these are worthwhile?

i have #1 readily available. didnt realize there was a second one. ill watch it, thanks

is it fair to compare that film to lynch, almost?

alright, ill check it out

>ill watch it, thanks
It's a very funny film, and quite good as well. Good luck finding it.

im already watching it, wtf dude

I was talking about the 2nd one

And watch Rainy Dog and Ley Lines (part 2 and 3)

oh.... yeah thatll be a whole thing i guess

Full Metal Yakuza.

Ace Attorney

What the Gods Want

....is VERY "what the fuck"
Probably the most WTF film ive seen from him. its.... i dont even know where to begin

Also, his darkest film is not Audition, and its not Ichi the Killer

Its "Lesson of the Evil"

holy shit, that film goes dark

>lesson of the evil

The Happiness of the Katakuris
Rainy Dog
The Bird People in China
Gozu
Fudoh: The New Generation

Shield of Straw is a pretty enjoyable, more conventional film by Takashi Miike

basically, guy kills billionaire's daughter. billionaire says "whoever kills him gets a fuckton of money" online, and some cops have to escort that guy to his trial. its kinda neat

Yakuza Demon is my favorite.
It is a straight gangster film, made without the uncanny elements Miike's work is known for, and one of his more accessible pieces.

JoJo movie this summer lads. I trust Miike to do it justice.

Anyone ever see Sukiyaki Western Django? Whats... um. Do I want to see it?
