Ignition a best

>He's not dumping the Bionicle comics

Bump

Toa nuva are the best generation.

I remember these, they were like the best comics ever, best legos ever really.

what does Sup Forums think of the bionicle reboot? The lads at /toy/ have discussed it to death so I want other opinions.

I loved the Bohrak arc

>the Bohrak rampage across the land
>they move without fear, as if nothing could stop them
>because nothing ever has

>The one with silver/white body parts gets gold armor
Well played Lego.

Massive nostalgia. I still have all of mine, but I'm missing a few of the newer issues.

I'd post my collection, but I'm not home right now.

Vezon and Kardas is the best set, prove me wrong.

Coincidentally, while the titan sets for 2006 are my favorite, I cannot stand the canister ones. Piraka and Inika suck.

>Velika is the name taken by a Great Being[1] who transferred his consciousness into a Po-Matoran body to observe the functioning of the Matoran Universe. On Voya Nui, he was known as an eccentric and inventive member of the Voya Nui Resistance Team. Since the Reformation of Spherus Magna, Velika has put into motion a plan to rule Spherus Magna, which necessitates the murder of several powerful Matoran Universe entities.
>During his time as a Matoran, Velika, having concluded that the destruction of the planet was due to poor leadership by the Great Beings,[9] developed a plan to seize control of Spherus Magna for himself.[10] Part of his plan involved the killing of powerful Matoran Universe inhabitants acting outside of their parameters, who might object to his rule. Velika defeated Lesovikk and stole his Air Sword,[11] with which he killed Karzahni at Iron Canyon and extracted Tren Krom from his prison[12] before murdering him in Bota Magna. Velika killed both in gruesome ways to inspire fear among the population, which he planned to use to ensure his acceptance as a ruler.[13]
>Due to his alliance with Kabrua, Velika knew about the Vorox on Bota Magna. Planning to use them as shock troops,[14] Velika gave them sophisticated force blasters[5] and a device capable of blocking a Toa's Elemental Powers. He also told them of the regression and tragedy of the Bara Magna Vorox. Velika then directed them to capture and kill a group of Toa and Glatorian who were in the process of tracking down the Great Beings to inform them of Spherus Magna's restoration.
>Velika also took advantage of an opportunity to take Axonn, Brutaka, Miserix, Tuyet, Helryx, Vezon, and Artakha out in one fell swoop, as they had all gathered in one place at the behest of an insane Great Being. He rigged the structure to blow, and then began crafting a grave marker for his intended victims.

MOVE ALONG MOVE ALONG

I like the online game the most.

>that early-2000s Flash style

I think I have the comics on a disc somewhere. I'll see if I can find them

Okay, I've found them, but I've never done this storytime thing myself before

How do I convert pdf into an image file small enough to post here?

They became my only reason for bothering to renew my Lego Magazine subscriptions.

Is the Netflix cartoon for G2 any good?

Finally figured it out, so let's get started.

It's been a long while since I've read these myself, although I still have most of them in physical copy.

This might help.

That PC game became Lego's most infamous piece of vaporware

That's the first issue down. If people are reading, I could continue for a bit. At the very least, I'm going to make sure to keep these issues on my hard drive for future storytimes

The thing I remember the most was that Lewa was always jobbing.

So Tohunga are just Matoran before Matoran were established?

Reading. Trying to remember what eventually did happen to my Bionicle toys.

It was just a name change. Some of the names that Lego used in the Bionicle universe were straight-up Maori words, and the Maori sued them. Most just changed in spelling, but tohunga (which means villager in Maori) was changed to Matoran

I've always loved how unique Bionicle felt.
Thanks for the storytime.

Glad that Fire and Water weren't matched up

There was a lawsuit that resulted in Jalla -> Jaller, Kewa bird -> gukko bird, and tohunga -> matoran.

I don't have the time to do it now, but once I've got all of these files in line, I may have time to do a longer storytime. Watch for it in the catalog

It's remarkably annoying. I don't like the design of the new sets, and the storyline seems a lot less dark/deep than the old one.

Would you be interested in a Bionicle Quest on /qst/? What would you want to see (besides Mata Nui, the best setting fucking ever)? Matoran Disc throwing shenanigans? Krakha loose on Mata Nui? Matoran becoming Bohrok actually meaning something? Character development? More balanced gender ratio among toa? Vahi time shenanigans?

here's all the comics

biomediaproject.com/bmp/comics/

I'm still not sure how /qst/ works. I'm not familiar with role playing very well

I'm down for the Mata Nui setting since I'm a filthy genwunner

Film Noir metru nui

have you considered a New World Spherus Magna? more potential for ruins and new societies/cities

It's a reboot of a children's franchise. So it's automatically garbage and way worse than the one I had as a child. But it actually is, it's terrible.

I only started reading at the end of the mask o light arc.
Thank you user for finally sowing me how it started.

Bara Magna's scarce resources, Aqua Magna's sea, and jungle planet with MECHADINOSAURS are all cool, but the original island with post-apoc matoran surviving will always have my heart, and I feel like spherus would be adding a lot of complexity species and lorewise in exchange for nothing really.

God I hated that. "How dare you use words from a language! You shits!"

>that foreshadowing

and no, it's not what you think it is

I remember getting them bundled with lego magazine back in the day...

Storytime user here. I've got 25 issues on my hard drive. I'll start a thread tomorrow around 6PM US central time. If I do 5-6 issues a thread, I can dump the whole thing over the course of four evenings

I know the plot is "find all six masks of power and bring them to Kini Nui", but I didn't see any masks in any of the panels beforehand, and I'm sure Matoro wasn't shown holding anything.

...

>lewa

>corrupted by makuta
>failed to save his people fromt he Bohrok
>brainwashed by krana
>broke his katana on reidak
>Has the mask of levitation, doesn't matter because he gets the ability to fly anyway
>body swaps with an immovable Lovcraftian being
>sent into space, almost dies
>survives and lands on an unknown moon
>captured by a tribal society

being lewa is suffering. I don't think anyone else had worse luck than him.

which toa is your husbando/waifu?

And now Matoro just spontaneously knows Kopaka's name, which is the first time it's been mentioned in this comic. Heck, Matoro didn't even seem awed by Kopaka, just apparantly afraid for a moment until Kopaka kept him from fleeing.

Why am I caring about this?

If you know your bionicle lore I would be fucking down for that shit

I was going to do a quest based on MNOG as the plot, and just have people explore the island and see if anyone caught on.

It doesn't make sense when you think about it, but then again it is only a twenty-page comic.

The novelization for the story of the first year of Bionicle actually had this really great bit where the first six chapters each follow a different toa and their experiences after awakening. The one with Onua I remember was surprisingly effecting

>Needing a website hotlink for Explaining why a person uses gestures

I think Nuju and all other Turaga told myths about the 6 toa

Obviously, but we don't know that yet. Or even whether Kopaka even knew his own name. He doesn't react at all to Matoro saying that when he protects him from the Rahi.

It's pretty good for what it is. I'd say give it a shot.

But don't expect anything beyond a 7/10.

I am 99% certain that when the Toa first woke up, their names where the only thing they knew.

Yep, I can confirm that's canon

nice satanic trips too

...Yeah, I can recall that from the first book. But reading from this comic, it doesn't establish that.

that's one of the problems with Gen 1's story. The media is all over the place.

You have books, movies, comics, games, serials, podcasts, flash animations, discs that came with sets and so on. It's a bloody mess. But at least some people tried to organise it.
