>heavily coded

?

Peter Parker

its SJW talk for headcanon

Shitty sjw tumblr speak for "stereotype", whilwe trying to sound politically correct.

OP, I could give you dozens, but first you will have to make a new thread and wright "Has there every been a Sup Forums character heavily autistic?"

This way you will get more answer of what you want in this site anyway.

>Has there every been a Sup Forums character heavily headcanoned to have social anxiety?

That's even more confusing

If your looking for coded characters you might want to go to Sup Forums.

I don't know anything about coding. Might wanna take that to Sup Forums.

Why do most of the girls I see on the internet that post their mental illnesses claim to have social anxiety when they spend most of their time talking to their friends? Does SA magically go away when you use the internet?

>girls
>social anxiety

Is this a thinly veiled /r9k/ thread?

During my free time I only really socialize with my folks.

No its just something that had always confused me.

What? It has nothing to do with headcanons, dude. It's when the author/creator adds non-explicit indicators about the character's, say, sexual orientation or things like that. Like in the Hays Code era some characters would have certain lines or attributes that suggest that they're gay, but they're subtle enough that censors and part of the audience don't get it. They're not explicitly gay, but they are "coded gay".

Headcanons can overlap with how a character is coded, but they're different. The character is coded by the creator.

Elsa had social anxiety from being cloistered for so long.

It's weird that Rapunzel didn't.

I force socializing to make myself feel like less of a failure NEET and so I can lie about my social anxiety to my family.

I'm pretty sure a lot of people with less acute anxiety disorders do something similar. Force it and drink a lot.

Don't you hate doing that though? I for one came to realize long ago the only people I can stand talking with for longer than five minutes are all here on this site.

Man I don't know. You either try to act like a normal functioning adult or you succumb entirely to anxiety and sperg out on Sup Forums all day.

Neither sound good but at least if I go outside I can earn bank and maybe have fun if I get stupid wasted enough.

what the fuck is social anxiety

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Social_anxiety

...

that doesn't help at all

>Does SA magically go away when you use the internet?

It doesn't go away completely, but I feel a heck of a lot more confident talking to people online than in real life. Hell, I even flirt with a few girls online. That's something I never did irl

You feel overly anxious in social situations, to the point were you often just avoid socialising.

that's dumb

And by "that's dumb" I mean I can relate when I see people post about being anxious or socially anxious, but I don't think I fit that definition.

Just cause you have social anxiety doesn't mean you can't have a social life.

Mark Waid's Barry Allen.

Rapunzel was literally born with "a drop of sunlight" fused into her soul (whatever the heck that is). I think it explains her near-constant optimism quite handily.

You mean implied
The word is implied

I don't know what to tell you, user. It's a real word that's been used for quite a while. Regardless of how you feel about it.

I have social anxiety and I work in sales where I just talk to people all day. And I love going to concerts and shit with lots of crowds.

Social anxiety and being a social retard are two different things.

Aha is funny because video games are computer programs which have code.

>It's a real word

In that usage defines language, sure

>that's been used for quite a while

By tumblr users and soft science dropouts, sure. I don't have to respect their fucking bullshit and maiming of the language.

>discussing fictional media
>won't listen to "soft science dropouts"

What, you want physicists to explain movies to you?

If you have a knee-jerk reaction to anything you associate with tumblr then I don't think anything I can say will change your mind. So whatever.

"Coded" was used to refer to these things before even geocities were a thing.

Actually, given that I think the entire fucking field of lit crit is shot to fuck and simply used to justify whatever perverse point the critic wants to make which has no bearing on the text...

Yeah, I would rather physicists and engineers talk to me about media. They at least talk about what's in front of them rather than the freaky fucking propaganda they want to push.

>soft science drop outs

Still covered the po-mo lit crit folks and sociologists, kiddo. They suck every dick too.

It's clearly different depending on the person and how comfortable they are with the different venues of social interaction.

I find phone-calls, and thus by extension Skype/Teamspeak, much worse than meeting someone in person. Because you don't have the facial and bodily cues to tell you how the person is reacting. If you've already got problems with interpreting those cues I could very well see you preferring faceless conversations, however.

Being anxious is normal. Having crippling anxiety in normal-day situations is not. Not really hard to grasp unless you're an autist.
