Not really, the comic relief is badly judged and ruins the tone of the ending, and personally it irritated me that the film pussied out of having Chris kill the mother in the same unprovoked manner that he kills the father, that felt like a dishonest concession to political correctness. Aside from that, the film isn't what you'd call "great", just an effective horror film with an interesting message.

Watched it, it's definitely sjw pondering and it made me realize what I hate/love about the horror genre, most of my favorite horror were the ones where the protagonist fights and still lose in the end I mean what's the point of having a horror film with a happy ending.

I liked it because there's no "randomly falling over while being chased" or "I should stay and get to the bottom of this by myself even though everything seems fucked and I should probably GTFO" bullshit you often see in most horror films/thrillers.

Thats the main thing that makes it so good. Its very scarce when it comes to the horror cliches.

I've read it's one of the reasons Tremors was well liked. I haven't seen it tho so idk.
