It only didn't age well in the sense that it doesn't have long, drawn out tension scenes like every big show does now. There are no obvious cues like music or fixating on someone's face for 30 seconds to tell you what the character is feeling. There's nothing about the storytelling in this show that's aged, imo, it's just not like shows that are made today.

One of the things I really like about Sopranos is how it implies the mob life transcends politics. Both and old school conservative like Tony, and a college liberal like Meadow find ways of trying to justify the horrendous acts that the mob commits. Finn may have been the most obnoxiously liberal character on the show, but you have to give him credit for staying true to his beliefs and calling out Meadows hypocrisy.
