I still like his older material with Eric, especially Tom Goes to the Mayor and Awesome Show (obviously) and also really liked him in The Comedy. I've been avoiding reading into all of this political shit involving him like the plague. But as far as I know, he actually had fuck all to do with Sam Hyde's show getting cancelled, and the blame was just pushed on him because Sup Forums got triggered by something he said.

That all being said, watching Awesome Show in 2017 is a weird fucking experience. A decade ago, this show was actually really subversive. Trying to get anybody you know to watch it or even admitting that you liked it made you seem like a fucking lunatic. It was the ultimate normie filter. This was before lel random internet humor became mainstream, and even the reaction by the adult swim fanbase (a channel entirely dedicated to absurdist humor) was extremely divisive and oftentimes downright hostile. But in 2017? This humor is everywhere. Teenage tumblrites are in stitches over T&E gifs since normies are just now discovering it and getting in on the joke. The non-sequiturs, purposefully amateurish editing, surrealism, and awkward dialogue are all par for the course on the internet. It's no longer cutting edge or interesting, it's fucking everywhere. Every major "comedy" YouTuber incorporates some kind of T&E like gags. It's just fucking weird to see T&E so universally loved while when it came out, it got such a polarizing response by people claiming it made no sense or just didn't get it. I could show my normiest friends a T&E clip without hesitation now, and they'd probably think it was hilarious. A decade ago, people would give me the weirdest looks when I tried to show them anything from it.

If anything, I gotta say the man is prophetic, even if the humor doesn't feel nearly as fresh as it did in 2006.

Seriously, there is no denying that this guy is a great fucking actor. On Cinema is some of the best and most subtle improvised comedy.

I don't agree with him on political stuff, but that doesn't change the fact that he is a comedy genius. All the times he has directly responded to Sup Forums and whatnot have been incredibly tongue in cheek, and if you knew anything about what he is actually like you would realize this.

Additionally, Abso Lutely productions is behind many of the other great shows out there right now. The man is prolific and does whatever the fuck he wants
