Personally I'd love a Sherman movie.

People on Sup Forums don't read or know anything about history.

He should be played by a proud woman of color.

Only if it's a musical.

I'd want it just to trigger the cuckfederates

A movie about Attila the Hun versus the decaying Western Roman Empire. Climax is the complete clusterfuck of the Battle of the Catalunian Plains

>kills commies in winter war
>kills commies in WW2
>kills commies in vietnam

...

A movie from Constantine's perspective during the collapse of Byzantium in the 1450's

...

It would be the greatest cuckolding porno of all time.

pic rel
>starring Russell Crowe

don't you americans have butthurt when foreigners portray your national icons? like DDL playing Lincoln

If only Russell Crowe was a good actor.

>not Jared Harris

He isn't? Did I miss something?

The plot would of course focus around the mission to rescue Mussolini. I'd expect it to be a mix of Mission Impossible and Oceans 11.

>don't you americans have butthurt when foreigners portray your national icons?
No, doesn't matter at all. As long as they look the part and deliver a great performance, who cares what their nationality is? And for the record, DDL was fucking outstanding in Lincoln.

Jesus, your idea is precisely why cinema sucks nowadays.
>a movie about WW2
>haha it must be edgar wright pacing and cool editing
>it must be modern as fuck
and people (who love to watch fast movie clips) are getting less and less interested in old school pace because
>boredom

This is a meme thread on a Bhutanese fishing and stamp collecting forum you fucking faggot. Lighten up.

Sherman made seemingly wild claims about the number of men needed to win the war and the number of casualties that would likely be inflicted. He was unceremoniously kicked to the curb, as they thought he was insane (his estimates were actually low compared to the end result). He and Grand form a based broship and proceed to kick ass.

Sherman essentially fostered in a major change in warfare- the idea that by attacking manufacturing and support systems, armies would crumble. Seems basic, but for the most part warfare in the 19th century was about maneuvering and defeating armies in the field to force peace. If you have Netflix, check out the Ken Burns Civil War doc. Docukino at its finest.

I would like to see Jason Clarke give it a go. I think he has a resemblance to Sherman. Mel Gibson should direct it.

>no movie about a hallucinating Sherman and drunken Grant fucking rednecks for 2 hours.

Why even live

fuck you Sup Forums, i know i had this image selected

A film set during the civil war from the south's perspective

A miniseries about the events leading up to and the aftermath of the assassination of Franz Ferdinand would be cool.

Mel isn't allowed to direct war movies any more.

Gods and Generals had a lot of this. Cold Harbor some as well.

I want a three part epic about Edward I, II and III.
Edward III in particular has so much happening that I'm shocked there hasn't already been a major financed British film about him.
Other than that, I want one about King Cnut and his Anglification.
When those fail, I want one about John Wilkes Booth.

Who was butthurt about DDL playing Lincoln? He was outstanding and is probably the greatest method actor alive. Him being Irish and playing a vehement Mick-hating, nativist, anti-Papist in GoNY was fucking amazing too.

Cold Mountain

Lew Armistead might be an interesting character.

fuck, i mean Cold Mountain. cold harbor was the battle.

Haven't seen it yet, but I've been a fan of DDL since I saw Last of the Mohicans as a kid. Was it good?

Gangs of New York or Lincoln? The answer is yes to both lol.

Lincoln. I fucking loved him in GoNY.

>you see this knife? i'll teach you to speak english with this fucking knife

Still wrong, battle of the crater was the battle in Cold Mountain.

>Ken Burns Civil War doc
Was it not real? Was it not like the old days?

Sorry famalam, not wrong. Unless you're referring to a battle that was represented in Cold Mountain. I don't know, I can't recall much about the movie.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Cold_Harbor
The voiceovers were amazing. Whenever I read a Lincoln quote, it defaults to Sam Waterston's voice.

We really need a Erwin Rommel movie.
He was one of the greatest Generals in WW II and on the other hand he was forced to suicide after his fallout with Adolf Hitler.
His mutual respect even today will drive the story home.
You can take like 90% from the book "desert foxes" anyway.

...

There is one, it's just really old.

this

For my taste this movie was done too recent and is now too old.
one man can dream

Like I said. Cold Harbor was a battle. Battle of the Crater was THE battle in Cold Mountain.

Rommel is meme. Hasty Heinz, Peiper, or Manstein or someone like Molders would be more interesting. Von Paulus would be more tragic.

even if those guys would make better movies, Rommel is well known and would sell better and that's what it is all about

my bad, i skimmed a little too quickly. my original post was about cold mountain representing a southern perspective, and i mistakenly put cold harbor, which is completely unrelated. i'll take you word for the battle of the crater being in the movie, as i don't remember much about it except that it had zellweger, gleeson, and jude in it.

>making films for profit
kids these days

>i-it's gonna be art j-just watch
cucks these days

>Hasty Heinz
GUDERIAN?

>Molders
I'd take Galland, Hartmann or Nowotny

The way things are going, they'll start remaking more movies like this. Red Tails was basically a remake of The Tuskegee Airmen (much better movie). As much as I liked The Battle of the Bulge for the spectacle and an awesome cast, I'd like to see a movie with a bit of accuracy. Band of Brothers did a good job, but it was a very limited viewpoint of a huge event.

They'd better not remake pic related, though.

Maximilian von Spee

A Robert E Lee/ Ulysses S Grant movie

I think that would be interesting watch

Yeah.

Why does Constantine look like a Sand Nigger here?

Cause he was a dirty serb

Gettysburg and Gods and Generals were pretty heavy on Lee. They haven't done a good Grant movie AFAIK. I'd like to see it.

I would love to see a Clint Eastwood movie on Grant/Lee. He'd do it right. I'd also love to see a Mel Gibson version of Lee/Grant facing off during Wilderness and Richmond/Petersburg. You know he'd have a fucken field day with the gore.

Sherman was the most based out of all the U.S. CW Generals. I'd love to watch a movie about that motherfucker.

And not like a wimsy war comedy either, I want an epic drama

i wish this had been made already.i think brendan gleeson would own this role, but he's a little old for it now. maybe if he slimmed down a lot he'd look close enough.

Starring Brian Cox as General Grant and J.K. Simmons as General Sherman.

Perfect buddy film.

They did it. It was called Downfall.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_for_Castle_Itter

Not a person, but its amazing how this hasn't been made into a movie yet.

>It may have been the only battle in the war in which Americans and Germans fought side-by-side. Popular accounts of the battle have called it the "strangest" battle of World War II.

they'd turn it into an sjw circlejerk with all minority americans and gay germans

drumpfkins would cry because the Nazis would be bad guys.
