So then Sup Forums

What's Sup Forums's opinion of this film. To be honest I couldn't watch more than 15 minutes of this degeneracy before turning it off. An abhorrent film about an abhorrent nation of people and their despicable lack of moral standards. What say you?

Go to bed Grandpa.

>An abhorrent film about an abhorrent nation of people and their despicable lack of moral standards

that's the point of the film, yes

I'm just observing the vile & repulsive endemic of U.S culture, don't shoot the messenger.

lmao U just jelly you didn't get some prime 14 y-o pussy as a teenager (neither did I... :(

sorry for trip

That's what the movie is about, but instead of watching it and taking something away from it you shut it off.

Movies that show the truth about something without holding anything back are a rarity.

The film depicts a very accurate portrayal of teens in NYC in the early 90s. I grew up near the pool they all go swimming in and a bunch of my friends lived that sort of life. Can't say I can relate, but it's a wonderful film as far as accuracy goes.

Yeah and you know what? I think that it maybe just a little bit of shockploitation on the part of the director to pass this off as 'have you seen what's happening in our urban areas'.

>An abhorrent film about an abhorrent nation of people and their despicable lack of moral standards.
well, yeah, shithead. that's the point of all that mother fuckers films. he wants to show the degenerate side of America. sorry that's too scary for you.

I've nothing to take away from this other than oh yes this is a film about scum, it has no redeeming qualities. It actually made me quite angry to be fair.

Side or whole?

>made me quite angry
so you did take something away from it.

Yes 15 minutes and then turned had to turn it off in disgust, whereas something say for example 'Martyrs' (the original) emotionally riveting.
So having said all that do you think the director's intention was for me to turn it off after only watching 15 minutes of his film?

it's obviously not the kind of story you like to see. go watch something else.

It's not the case though of it not being for me, there is literally nothing recommendable about the 15 minutes of this movie that I watched.

>judging a movie based on the first 15 minutes
o-okay...

I didn't care about the degeneracy. I was just bored. Larry Clark and Harmony Korine make movies that on the surface seem really fucked up, but when you actually watch them, they're just fucking boring.

Larry Clark in particular only uses these movies as an excuse to film naked people who look like teenage kids, while pretending he's an avant-garde artist instead of a guy who makes lame porn.

If you can't make a judgement about the quality of a film within the first 15 minutes you have no business commenting.

if you can't watch an entire film before making final judgements, you have no bisiness commenting.

I remember after watching it, I just thought "ok kids are fucking terrible. So what?"

These fucking Sup Forumslacks don't actually give a fuck about movies beyond finding further things to confirm their retarded ideology, so, there's no sense actually trying to talk to them about a film.

Larry Clark's movies always go like this. First, he hires some first-time actors and actresses not because of their actual acting ability, but because they look younger than their age and Clark can pretend he's filming kids having sex without breaking the law. Then, he writes a plot for them that's overly edgy (ex:kid kills his grandparents then jacks off to it). After that, he films the sex scenes. Next, he writes dialogue like "If people fucked more, there would be less war" or "Fill me with your hate paste". Then, he adds more edgy shit so indie film critics will praise the film for breaking new mold or defying the medium or some shit like that. And ta-da, you have every single Larry Clark movie.

Oh yeah, I forgot about skateboards. Clark really loves skateboards.

so is the film. you are no better than it.

Not him, but after watching some other Clark and Korine movies, and seeing interviews of them, it doesn't seem like they see what's portrayed on Kids as vile and repulsive. If anything, it feels like they relish and fetishize it.

Korine in particular seems like he really wished he could've had rampant sex, drugs, or other depravities when he was a kid. And paints such a persona whenever he shows up in public. When in reality, he was just a hipster Jewish boy from a well-off family.

desu i would have into aidsgirl too

I say I bet if we fucked you'd like it.

that 90's zeitgeist

the 12yo blonde qt getting banged by the hiv infected slimeball was pretty hot.

Underrated post

I didn't feel that way with Kids, but your description is Ken Park to a tee. It's stupid uncomfortable to watch, and half of it wasn't for any purpose. At least with Kids you were horrified because Telly was a predator (and was HIV positive) and his actions were highly relevant to the story (will what's her name reach him in time or will he potentially infect his friend's sister).

>Be OP
>Can't watch a slice of reality
>Instead gets enraged by it and shuts film off before anything can be taken from it
>Turns on TV and cries himself to sleep watching Big Bang Theory
>Bazinga

Ken park is better

remember in the next film by the same director when he filmed unsimulated BJ and sex with early teens

he truely is Kino

Ken Park feels like a compilation of horrid things that may have occurred at some point in time. Apparently the film was written out of excerpts and stories compiled from Larry Clarks journal from when he was a teen, mostly stories of others he had known.

what if the final 10 min of Ken Park was an entire 2hr kino film?

Gummo is better than kraP neK, also Bully and Wassup Rockers are some of Larry Clarks best, aside from Kids. You ain't seen nothing until you try to watch Trash Humpers though.

You mean this film basically.

MAKE IT MAKE IT DONT FAKE IT

that movie sucks tho and the BJ has that small pns guy

I have no legs, I have no legs

Never even bothered to see it to be honest.

remember watching this back in elementary school

great piece of kino

what a great little film to watch in school

Filming yourself and your friends dressing up like inbred old people who hump trash, and then calling it avant-garde instead of something you could easily find on a teenager's youtube channel feels like something Shia Labeouf would totally do.

Well, honestly, more or less, everyone goes thru that phase(in urban areas) ,some sooner, some later.

Worst part is there are a lot of senile old people in the world, and they still had better sense than to be in this project.

don't talk shit about the greatest american director please.

Korine films are some of the best examples of indie movies that pat themselves on the back for being weird and subversive, but in actuality are even more shallow and skin deep than the average blockbuster movie.

I enjoy Harmony's films, in fact I think I was the only person who walked into Spring Breakers knowing it was going be a downward spiral, unfortunate for the teen girls behind me who were expecting a party film. But I don't really get what he was doing with Trash Humpers.

DUDE AIDS LMAO

kids is what happens when you let sheltered into-their-20s virgins make movies about what they believed and still believe the youth acts

Even worse, Larry Clark was in his fifties when he made Kids. He's 74 right now, and he's still making movies about skateboarding teenagers having sex.

>that movie sucks tho and the BJ has that small pns guy
Hard to contend with such an articulate capsule review, from an evident connoisseur of Bertolucci's work.

There's only one comment here that reminds me of true of Sup Forums. There rest are just a new wave of reddit SJWs who have come here in recent years.
