bad enough i can't find any links for the flash season finale
c'mon lets do this I've been having panic attacks all day with massive sanity ruining anxiety in between I NEED something to distract my mind
Sebastian Morris
The main Rebirth story is 80 issues and most people are probably still in line waiting to get their copy.
It'll be awhile before any scans go up.
Eli Cruz
Yeah the comixology version will probably be available by the time or before all the pages get scanned
Hunter Walker
>tfw when Comixology has billed me but not sent the 'your comics are available' email yet
Jason Brooks
>c'mon lets do this I've been having panic attacks all day with massive sanity ruining anxiety in between I NEED something to distract my mind Same here. Thinking about Rebirth was the only good thing keeping me going.
Kayden Morales
Flash and Green Lantern thanks to preacher
Carter Young
Check back in two hours, that's when the rips start showing up
Evan Barnes
80 *pages* not issues
Camden Campbell
>Green Lantern you mean the arc from 10 years ago?
Blake Morris
I'm not alone! and you're not alone! here's hoping we feel like our old selves sooner than later, friend
Jonathan Hall
>People wonder why comics are shit >They wait in line to get their brand new "same old bullshit #1" as always, scheduled for every 5 fucking years. >Tune in 5 years later when this shit is retconned TOO
I mean Marvel is just as bad if not worse but c'mon
Dylan Thompson
thanks man this will keep me occupied
Jace Ortiz
Thanks, but I know I'm not making any progress. I've long ago accepted comics are the only escapism I have left.
Parker Thomas
...
Henry Morgan
awhh yeee this will tide me over
Kevin Brown
ye ye. you lads should use the catalog. I'm already waiting for the other scans right now, heh
Wyatt White
>80 issues >All released the same day >2.99 each Would totally spend $240 for it.
Austin Cruz
Anyone watching Seth Myers That drummer looks exactly like Dan Didio
Logan Gomez
Just try to let your thoughts slip through the cracks in your mind like all the other silly thoughts. don't hold onto them.
there's help all around I got my doc to prescribe me some anti-depressants and lined up a therapist today. now hopefully i just need to be patient and I'll start to get better... I'm holding out hope
I know I don't know anything about your life situation... but I'm holding out hope for you too, user.
Andrew Miller
It probably is. Meyers is a huge DC fan and especially loves Blue Beetle.
Noah Nguyen
We are legion, friends. Still up until now, it would be helpful to sleep reading something good
Austin Roberts
He's not wrong.
Angel Bennett
I hope you do well. I don't want to be pessimistic, but I've been going to a therapist and a psychiatrist and trying meds for a while. I hope your get better results than mine, though. >Just try to let your thoughts slip through the cracks in your mind This advice always confuses me. My therapist says going there helps because letting stuff out is good and talking about things are better than denying it. So isn't escapism just denying my problems are happening? Anyway I don't mean to go off-topic from Rebirth.
Logan Long
Same here. But comics are good friends at times like these.
Dominic Allen
Bruh he's right
Bentley Hughes
Meditation kind of teaches you how to observe your thoughts and acknowledge that you have them, but not to hold onto them and obsess about them, but let them go away naturally.
Levi Perez
>My therapist says going there helps because letting stuff out is good and talking about things are better than denying it
Mine told me a quote that always helps: "What we deny, imprision us. What we accept, give us freedom".
Camden Jones
>c'mon lets do this I've been having panic attacks all day with massive sanity ruining anxiety in between I NEED something to distract my mind Talk shit about drugs all you want, at least I know when I can get some fucking drugs.
Adrian Williams
I'm sorry you aren't getting results. hopefully something out there works for you.
the way i see the slip through the cracks thing is that sometimes you just get a weird thought your brain throws at you and you just think "huh what a weird thought" and immediately forget about it
just think about whatever the anxiety is making you think in the same way don't treat it any different than any other weird nonsense thoughts you forget about and let it slip from your mind... I don't know I'm no therapist
what do you want to see most in rebirth?
Jackson White
It sounds like Sup Forums asshattery but write shit down in a journal or blog or whatever. get it out.
and be happy for he is risen
Jeremiah Wilson
I used to smoke weed and it helped a lot but now for some reason whenever i smoke it just makes me feel anxious/on the brink of a panic attack
really sucks cause I love weed and every one of my friends smoke
Levi Carter
>It sounds like Sup Forums asshattery but write shit down in a journal or blog or whatever. get it out.
Seconding this. The other thing that helps with this is that it may not seem like it now, but you can look back on your thoughts in that journal and make more accurate assessments about how you're developed and changed over time. Shit that seems insurmountable at the time, you get to look back on and seeing that progress over time in summation helps.
Owen Evans
I wish the pre-52 would return, even if I know it's impossible. Even so, we already know many pre-52 elements are going to be prominent, like the real Clark or Wally. Let's not talk about this, though, it makes me nervous someone will bring up spoilers.
John Hernandez
Such is the sad state of mainstream American comic books.
Jayden Davis
He has a point
Julian Ramirez
>was considering head down and actually picking up Rebirth tomorrow and then start buying floppies again >remember that all the local shops probably have it marked up at least double the USD price because lolcanadabucks
Looks like I'll keep on piratin'
Eli Butler
Maybe try different strains?
Kayden Baker
And that is why you never fall for the big 2 meme.
Other than when you're 6 years old, of course, it's fine then.
Evan Nguyen
I don't think the weeds the problem I think my brain is the problem unfortunately
Camden Reyes
If your in Toronto some shops have gone back to us cover on floppies and collected editions.
Ryan Morgan
yeah good call gotta be quite careful of spoilers. I'm with you though nu 52 was a failed experiment
Tyler Howard
I'm in Winnipeg and last time I actually bought floppies the very few local shops all marked up, not to mention always had shit selection and were dirty as hell.
Benjamin Morris
>nu 52 was a failed experiment How so? It's put out some pretty alright books in its time, and the sales were fine.
Nathan Wood
At least you're not in Mexico.
Fucking peso.
Charles Diaz
It completely shat on the characters and the whole thing had a awful neo-90s vibe to it, nothing good came of it in the long run
Lincoln Long
>It completely shat on the characters How so? Do you consider anything new to be shit?
Camden Stewart
>nothing good came of it >nothing
>Azz Wonder Woman >Animal Man and Swamp Thing >Dial H >Demon Knights >Sword of Sorcery >Demon Knights >Lemire Green Arrow >Manabooch Flash >Forever Evil >All Star Western >Vibe
Do you want me to continue
Brayden Mitchell
Yes.
You've already listed quite a few shit titles so I'm curious how low are your standards.
Christian Rogers
It was a failure on a world-building level. The pre-52 universe was infinitely more fleshed out and well thought out, and discarding it just to bait casuals was a bad decision. The new 52 forever damaged the storylines of characters such as Gen13, Grifter, Voodoo, Stormwatch, Batman, Tim Drake, the Teen Titans, Darkseid, Wally West, Alan Scott, Harley Queen and many more.
Jayden Bennett
That sucks dude.
Isaiah Gonzalez
Egads, our decades old, corporate owned characters will change, whatever shall we do? Our comic book collections have become invalidated!
Ayden Thomas
Who said anything about the material being new? There's nothing I like better than characters developing forward. The New 52 was a step backwards for the sake of money.
I wouldn't even have minded a reboot if it had been better than what came before. I merely ask that the material is good. Sadly, it wasn't. The Gen13 became a perversion of their past selves.
Leo Wright
>Sadly, it wasn't According to you.
Sebastian Hughes
So that's Supergirl, Jessica Cruz, Wally, probably Green Arrow, JSA Jay and I'm assuming that's Conner on the end due to the jacket. I wonder when he pops up?
With the reveal that the JSA were a thing and Wally popping back out of the speedforce that's the rest of them accounted for but him.
Daniel Morgan
I'm all ears-- tell me how turning Gen13 into clones made them better. How turning Darkseid into a mindless movie villain and then giving him a daughter with a Tumblr haircut was an improvement. How disconnecting Tim Drake from Batman and then saying he wasn't Tim was good.
Thomas Howard
That's Bart Allen who is still nowhere. If anything, replaced by black Wally because they didn't want to back step diversity.
Jayden Butler
It's more a thing of... discarding things isn't the way to go. You gotta build on the previous ideas instead of throwing away stuff. Otherwise why bothering writing these characters anyway.
Elijah Ross
Seems like all that is not your thing rather than anything bad. And regardless of how much your nostalgia was appeased, the comics continued to be mostly shit, as they always have.
Jonathan Campbell
It's probably an early Jon design not Conner. Different hairstyle on Jessica suggests it's a rough draft to me at least.
Tyler Carter
I thought New 52 was a good idea, but atrociously executed. A really good, well thought out reboot would have been great. But this wasn't.
Michael Cruz
I just said I'd be happy if the characters were developed in new, unexpected ways instead of rebooting them back to the beginning, but sure, just say it's nostalgia. Darkseid going from having a personality and backstory to being mindless is definitely subjective, just not my thing! >the comics continued to be mostly shit, as they always have. I bet you feel good being up there above everyone.
Brandon Cooper
>Darkseid going from having a personality and backstory to being mindless That's implying that Darkseid ever had personality.
>I bet you feel good being up there above everyone. I dunno what the hell you're saying, I'm just stating the law of averages and the one permanent factor of corporate owned comics.
Regardless, I'm not getting anywhere, so I'll just go and read Lone Wolf & Cub or some shit.
Angel Clark
>being this elitist
Liam Reed
There's nothing elitist about it though. It's the same with all media, 90% is shit and you just gotta read the cream at the top. Acting like pre-New 52 was somehow exempt to this rule is plain old silly.
Wyatt Cruz
Black Wally having dibs on the name "Kid Flash" just means that when they do bring back the real Bart, he'll get to be "Impulse" again, which is what his fans would prefer anyway.
Henry Johnson
Weren't you gone?
And I never pretended that. I merely said it was a step down from what had come before, regardless of how good this might have been. I backed it up with facts, and you couldn't stop making assumptions about me like I had nostalgia or bias, then proceeding to let slip that all comics are bad anyway, and you're going to go enjoy your indie comics. Do you realize how you look? You keep going on tangents to mention how superior you are. My -only- point was that the New 52 was a bad move.
Luke Brooks
Saw it suggested on Sup Forums for him to become Mercury or something like that. Carry on Max's legacy.
Wally's kid is Impulse
Andrew Nelson
Who said anything about Indie comics though? The same rules apply to them. And I still don't see how the New 52 was a bad move, seeing as how most of your complaints seem to be highly subjective.
And I can't read until my comics are done downloading, so I figured I may as well stick around until then. I've been updating my old collection to digital rather than scans as I re-read through it.
Josiah Ward
>Wally's kid is Impulse
There's no proof we're getting the kids back. Linda will probably regain her memories eventually or at the very least Wally will get her to fall in love with him again, but I'm betting the actual content of those ten years Dr. Manhattan stole from everybody stays gone.
Mason Fisher
Remember when Goku wasn't from space?
Lucas King
This is what I'm betting. There's not going to be a snap back to pre flashpoint continuity
Adam Murphy
You're a moron. The last time we saw Darkseid, in Final Crisis, he had a personality. Maybe you didn't like it, but it was more than what was shown in the New 52. This isn't subjective. This is just you being stubborn. The rest of my points also apply, most astoundingly in the Wildstorm characters; something you would know if you had ever picked up one of their comics. No, what they did to Priscilla isn't "subjective". This a character who went from having a run by Alan Moore to being porn bait. And this all applies to the other characters I've mentioned on my previous posts.
Wyatt Brooks
I don't think fans nor writers really liked Irey and Jai much as children. If anything we might get some time travel stuff to confirm that they exist eventually but I wouldn't expect them back full time.
Ian Sanchez
Good, Bart doesn't want to he the Flash either ways, he has no connections with Barry and somewhat resents Wally, I'd rather he carry over Max' legacy
Oliver Diaz
No writer in comics is capable of dealing with the existence of children too young to go to school in their book. That's why literally every comic book kid in history has gone through some kind of super-aging or time travel.
Fuck, Kirkman just did a time jump in Invincible specifically so the protagonist's newborn kid could be old enough to interact with as a character, and that book isn't even editorially forced to fit into a corporate universe.
Ian Roberts
Wildstorm characters I'll give you, but they haven't been good since Ellis/Millar were done. And Final Crisis was the epitome of wasted potential, so I tend to disregard everything contained therein. Besides, Darkseid didn't have much personality outside of that, anyways. As for Priscilla, she was porn bait from Day 1.
I can see neither of us are gonna budge, so let's just agree to disagree, aight?
Colton Gutierrez
>And Final Crisis was the epitome of wasted potential, so I tend to disregard everything contained therein
Elijah Taylor
Search your feelings, you know it to be true.
Angel Watson
It's not a matter of budging, just a matter of you dismissing everything instead of presenting counter arguments. Mentioning Ellis and Millar just shows you've only read Authority and don't know shit. Millar only shat on the universe and tainted it for all the writers to come. The only one who could salvage it was Casey, and then Gage later on. Try reading comics. >And Final Crisis was the epitome of wasted potential, so I tend to disregard everything contained therein Good for you, but we weren't discussing the story's worth. I was stating that Darkseid had -a- personality within the comic, and then he lost that personality. Is this too hard for you to catch? >As for Priscilla, she was porn bait from Day 1 You're an idiot. She was the female character with more clothes of the 90's. The was as much as porn bait as Jean Gray.
Alexander Rodriguez
>Bart doesn't want to he the Flash either ways
What horrid Geoff Johns Teen Titans characterization is this from?
Robert Russell
I once was allured by the seductive lure of intoxicants.
Then I stood in a seven sided costellation of human bodies, and inside that glorius golden snowflake I saw the truth of the glory of man kind, unadulterated and unfettered.
You are stronger than you think you are.
Connor Morris
if you have a family history of mental disorders, frequent weed use can aggravate them. anxiety, schizophrenia, and paranoid delusions are the main ones most easily triggered.
