>Haneke got panned
wtf

Bro it's one of the strongest receptions of the entire festival. It's pretty much the only anticipated film thus far that hasn't massively disappointed.

It's funny how in Cannes french critics and american one become antithesis.
They're never on the same page

At least the mexican filmmakers are having fun in Cannes

Is it a remake of the Eastwood film?

Are cannes threads just thinly veiled ellethreads now?

No, different adaptation of the same book.

oh, okay

One day they'll make another movie together, one day... ;_;

Careers that showed immense promise and then completely flopped - The Photo

Seriously, where is Billy Zane?

>Careers that showed immense promise and then completely flopped - The Photo
>Elle Fanning
>Super 8, The Neon Demon, The Beguiled, Mary Shelley, Galveston
>all this at 19
>keeps getting cast as the female lead

Yeah, that's the definition of a flopped career

I hope she gets an Oscar nom soon

I'd rather see her in more Auteurish kino than your typical oscarbait.

>when a feminist movie will win the Palm d'or

>Sorrentino in the middle of all those mexican

that guy just want to have fun no matter what

An Oscar nom could give her career an added boost

It has happened before and deservedly so

Lea looked ugly in that movie

You can't trust The Guardian's film reviews in any capacity. Especially if the word "feminism" is mentioned.

Blue Is The Warmest Color didn't feel particularly feminist. In fact some feminists hated it because "muh male gaze". It absolutely deserved the award, I agree.

Peter Bradshaw is a cool guy, he really is passionate about cinema

>Peter Bradshaw is a cool guy
