The narrative pushed in this show is one which they desperately need to believe would come true if the circumstances came about. They could keep these women in some safe facility where all of their needs are met and they don't have to do fucking manual labor. As far as an approach to repopulating the country/planet goes, the approach they use in the book/show is fucking stupid.
