What do you learn in history class before high school?

I'll do my best for Canada, specifically Nova Scotia from my earliest memories.

Grade 1
>We learn about the peopling of North America through the bering land bridge,
>and we learn a bit about indigenous people. All I remember

Grade 2
>Now we learn about like the creation of North America
>,and the glaciers and the Canadian Shield, that type of stuff
>we learn about the Halifax Explosion and the Africaville/Halifax black history for the first time

>Grade 3
>We learn about New France for the first time I think,
>and we learn about the fur trade and some indian stuff.
>Learn about British conquest of New France and how everything is honky dory between French and English
>learn about pioneers a lot for some reason, I remember there being a lot of pioneers.

Grade 4
>More pioneer shit,
>more indebth look at New France
>We learn some British History for the first time in grade 4, stuff about kings and queens
Grade 5
>Look at Confederation for the first time, and the order all the provinces joined Canada
>We do like, medieval history or something somewhere here too
>More european history, mostly british
Grade 6
>More history on confederation, more indepth look at the people involved,
>learn about Louis riel for the first time
>learn more about the provinces expanding out
>Learn more WWI including Vimy Ridge

Grade 7
>More 19th and 20th century history
>we talked about the rest of the provinces joining
>learn about treaties with natives
>Learned about war of 1812, some American history I think
>learn about confederation indepth

Grade 8
>learn a lot about WWI, all major Canadian battle
>learn about Victoria Charter and Statute of Westminster
>learn about repatriation of the consitution in 1982
>touch on WWII but not much details. Just the facts like, who was invovled and maybe the holocaust

High school we had mandatory grade 10 history that for me was all indepth 20th century Canadian history.

Before high school, we learn a little bit about roman expansion, the iberian barbarian tribes, christianity, the fall of rome and the advent of islamism.

Then we focus a little bit on the islamic conquest of iberia and the reconquista. Then we learn about the father of the first king of portugal, his death and the independence efforts by multiple portuguese characters, with some intrigue in the mix.

Then we learn about the first dynasty and some episodes of the time, including the vatican's recognition of portugal as an independent kingdom, the conquest of algarve and the establishment of Portugal's borders (lasting pretty much unchanged until today). We learn how society worked (the clergy, the nobility and the people).

Then we learn about the dynastic crisis and more war with the spanish for our independence. Then we learn about the discoveries and our golden age. Then D. Sebastiao fucks everything up and we go under spanish rule for a while. Then we get our independence again and have some more war with spain.

Then we learn about absolutist monarchy, the earthquake, the french invasions, the independence of brasil and the civil war that replaced absolutist rule with a liberal monarchy with a parliament and such. Then we breeze through some more until the regicide and the republican revolution.

We talk a little about the republic and the first world war, then it's revolution time again, with Salazar and the estado novo. We talk a little about world war 2 but not a lot, then the colonial war, then revolution time yet again in 1974. We talk a little about the workings of the current regime and shift focus to american hegemony. And that's where it ends iirc.

>What do you learn in history class before high school?

history isn't a single subject here, it's fused with geography and social studies, that's why it takes so "long"

Weird that Americans are so historically illiterate if this is true. That's more than I did.

we didn't even get to the end of the revolution
I remember something about u-boats in sex ed though, does that count

Because history is usually a topic that not many people here enjoy. I don't know why, but that's how they are. That and the majority of Americans you speak on this site are still in high school LARPing as an adult because they don't want to get ban.

Kids these days are taught about multi culturalism and faggottry now.

>Cucknada

At least the Charter doesn't mention trans people
so fuckng sick of this issue being front and centre these days

Section 28 provides: “Notwithstanding anything in this Charter, the rights and freedoms referred to in it are guaranteed equally to male and female persons”

Dont know where he went or how old he is but for my state we didnt have an actual dedicated history class until about 7th grade were we learn about early civilization; Mesopotamia, greece, egpyt ect. 8th grade no history class. 9th grade we learn about revolution to 1900's. Then a class for 1900's to modern era. And a third class for history from renaissance to world war 2 again.

I didn't know Genoa reached Canada

Can confirm.

It's all muh natives for half the fucking class, and muh multiculturalism and muh charter for the other half.

schools in america have different curriculum m8 especially in subjects like history, geography , civic education

We go thrice through antiquity to modern times in Elementary, secondary and high school, each time focusing on more specific subjets and more in depth (although still quite superficially 2bh)

High emphasis on french Revolution, WW1, WW2 and cold war.

> to the french bourgeoisie revolution

cheeky

We had to do a presentation on an Indian tribe in elementary.
We never even had Indians in this state

Also at the end of elementary there was a semester dedicated to feudalism. I wish I could remember anything about it, it would probably be funny.

I'm in law school now, almost all our classes brings up some shit on muh injuns
