Swimmers are literally being told to "keep their mouths closed" under water.
>Recent tests by government and independent scientists revealed a veritable petri dish of pathogens in many of the city's waters, from rotaviruses that can cause diarrhoea and vomiting to drug-resistant "superbacteria" that can be fatal to people with weakened immune systems.
>"Foreign athletes will literally be swimming in human crap, and they risk getting sick from all those microorganisms," said Dr. Daniel Becker, a local pediatrician who works in poor neighbourhoods. "It's sad, but also worrisome."
How did Brazil manage to get this? Is it a highest bidder thing?
Jaxon Hernandez
Corruption

3rd world countries should to be disqualified from ever hosting sporting events
Elijah Cox
Aren't we hosting in 2024?
Benjamin Johnson
A brazilian user mentioned all of this two weeks ago
Nicholas Brown
We *could* have hosted this year. Chicago was the city we put in, I think. But somehow, out of all the countries and cities, this shit-stuffed 3rd world hellscape gets chosen.
How is beyond me.
Eli Diaz
it's like how Qatar, a country with no football stadiums, won the right to host the 2022 FIFA World Cup, despite coming last in literally every suitability category - bribes, and lots of 'em
Lincoln Flores
Brazil will never recover.
Reputation eternally BTFO.
You can't be the '"next great country" for over a fucking century.
This is the end of the (((multicultural))) utopia dream, the dream Brazil was supposed to be.
Disgusting. Pic related is disgusted Trump jr.
Caleb Allen
Because the IOC only exists to make IOC board members wealthy.
They don't give a flying fuck about anything or anyone unless it affects their bottom line.
Austin Diaz
i am loving the trainwreck this olympics is turning into. thank you brazil.
John Russell
When the committee for selecting Olympics decided on where to host the 2016 event, back in 2009 or something, Rio was on an upturn of economy, lowering crime rates, and such such. When Rio was selected, it wasn't all that bad of a choice. But that was 2009 and shit turned bad, so now we have this
Wyatt Thomas
Most brs are loving it too. If u think we arw gonna get butthurt think again. This olympics came to brazil by the actions of the most corrupt politician we ever had. The brazilian late socialist gov was spear heading the efforts, so the worse it gets the more demoralized the workers party becomes. Fuck the left. Maybe if these games are really bad the rest of the population wakes up to how crooked our politicians are.
Josiah Brown
How is this a bad thing? The same way the evil White men destroyed the Americas with their diseases, Brazil has now surpassed the world in terms of immunity to the most advanced superbacteria. The Olympics will be event zero in the spread of the superbacteria and Zika throughout the planet, meanwhile Brazilians have increased resistance and immunity against those pathogens.
Brazil superpower by 2050 confirmed.
Josiah Jackson
>endent scientists revealed a veritable petri dish of pathogens in many of the city's waters, from rotaviruses that can cause diarrhoea
This is pretty normal when drinking water from any foreign country desu. When I was in Spain I remember once drinking tap water and it was like a nuke went off in my ass, shit everywhere all because if the dodgy water, I guess my immune system wasn't used to Spanish water. It will be the same in any foreign country I imagine.
Jose Murphy
Chicago is basically an honorary 3rd world hellhole though, I mean we have threads about it all the time
Alexander Ward
Rio was always a shit decision and it was criticized then. Brazil bribed the IOC because they wanted to pretend they were a real country.
Andrew Thompson
That's the bad part of Chicago
It's an afteraffect of segregation. Most of the garbage is concentrated into one location. They can't afford to live anywhere else.
Wyatt Allen
And by "garbage", I'm assuming you mean "African Americans"
Julian Turner
>He doesn't boil his water and use water filters
Can't believe someone this bluepilled browses Sup Forums.... This must be bait, right?
Gabriel Baker
>drinking tap water in Spain You suicidal, guv? Speaking of which, what's up with the tap wa'er in Britbongistan? Tastes like chlorine and cotton, for some reason.
Elijah Bailey
Aren't you like a third world country now? In 2024 maybe things get better... but now...
Ian Anderson
They gave the IOC the most bribes and whores of any of the candidates. Simple as that.
Hopefully it will crash and burn hard enough that some of the big nations will actually demand some reform in the selection process.
>implying Chiraq isn't a third world hellscape
Dominic Hall
>Is it a highest bidder thing? what could they have possibly bid with? favela bucks?
Aaron Fisher
They should go to India next, it's not fair that only swimmers and sailors get to experience the joys of wading through """human""" waste.
