TPTR is not Twin Peaks: it's a bland, sad, and pathetic attempt of self-celebration in the form of an artificial continuation of an unfinished old work. So old that you, the creator, can't even remember correctly. Ironically, at a metalanguage level, the topics of this reboot perfectly reflect what reboots per se are: concretely, a doppelganger, product of a creative void. It's not Cooper who is lost here, it's David Lynch himself. Maybe this is his unconscientious talking...
I will tell you one thing, Sup Forums: after watching the first episode I was actually deceived for a moment, as I thought it was going to be great; maybe it was going to be more in the direction of FWWM, but I was OK with that. But then, after episode two I started to realize what was really going on here. At episode three, I started to cry and almost turned off my TV, as I finally understood what was happening here: it was the dead of one of the greatest artists of the 20th century.
I just hope he got alot better after drinking coffee again and continues his journey back to twin peaks to get the lodge or so

It would be an extremely entertaining premise if Cooper the character wasn't so god damn endearing or well established. Seeing him as Dougie is really fucking heartbreaking for extended scenes. I don't hate it, but it gets hard to watch pretty quickly.

He wasn't involved with most of the episodes. He was busy with Wild at Heart for the latter half of season 1 and then ditched the show during mid season 2 because he was butthurt about having to wrap up the central mystery.

The concert scenes feel so disconnected from the rest of the show. It's like they're not even playing in the same bar.
The lighting is completely different when they cut to James being cool, or sluts doing shots.
Its basically 3 different shows at this point. One about Booper doing dirty deeds, one about Cooper flailing about, and one about Twin peaks proper that barely gets screentime. Common thread is none of them get the fleshing out they need to stay compelling. If Lynch didn't throw weird as fuck bad special effects at you regularly you'd probably fall asleep the pacing is so bad.
I keep returning to the scene in the latest episode where Evil Coop is being interviewed, because it looks and sounds so wrong. I get the impression that Lynch superimposed a shoop of Evil Coop's dead eyes over the actor
