Why do people on here meme dalton so much (aside from the fact that it's contrarian)?

Ltk is a great bond movie you are just ultrapleb

>shit taste: the post

Only bad thing about License to kill is that Leiter appears too fucking happy for an amputee widow.
Then again he's now on benefits and his wife was a roastie but still

The most impressive Bond stunt.

>mfw OP was a faggot

>also general /bond/ thread

Dr. No, From Russia with love and Goldfinger are great films

Everything else is absolutely dogshit cashgrab tier, if you disagree I genuinely feel sorry for your poor tasteless manchild soul

What are you talking about Licence to Kill was amazing. If you want to watch a bad Bond watch Spectre or Die Another Day.

And the ending is kino.

Dalton was the first real actor to play Bond and actually fucking tried. He read the books and tried to match what Fleming had written. TLD and LTK are both fine movies IMO but it doen't help that TLD was written for Moore so when Dalton's darker and moodier approach was at it's darkest it surely felt out of place for people more accustomed to goofy Roger Moore shit. Then on the opposite end of the spectrum was LTK which to this day is probably the most tryhard and edgy Bond movie. Not that I dislike it but I'm sure it was hard for audiences in the late 80s to appreciate.

>live and let die
>having so much garbage taste
He's literally a better version of Craig and his movies are the best since the 60s. Anyone using any meme buzzwords like "edgy" to describe these are tryhard faggots

Also the movie was released during the summer of '89 which had lot of movie competition, and didn't have great marketing.

I wish villain in License to Kill had better master plan. Smuggling yeyo by dissolving it in gasoline is dumb as fuck and doesn't deserve to be a Bond villain.

What did you want him to do? Having a laser that would vaporize the moon or what?

I still don't fully understand the plot of The Living Daylights and I've seen it like ten times. Licence To Kill is awesome though.

>really just another mediocre bond film
That accurately describe 90% of all bond films

best theme tune Live and let die
worst theme die another day

spectre is bond paint by numbers

Die Another Day was a complete pile of shit

>liking licence to kill
i bet you like blumpf as well
fucking edgelord Sup Forums queers

Dalton's version of Bond was better than the movies he was in. Goldeneye was written with him in mind and it's no coincience it's Brosnan's best Bond movie.

I think the next bond film should star Sean Connery, and take place in the Connery-Bond universe. Imagine a retired James Bond taking on one final mission to save the world that only he can do because MI6 has been compromised and assfucked.
>The name's Bond. James Bond.
Also he gets an exploding pen as a fuck you to Craig's Q.

I liked Spectre

This would be top

I'll explain it to you
well I do like drump and I want a two scoop ice cream thank you very much

I'm GenX and it's no meme. Long-time Bond aficionados have ALWAYS had a huge hard-on for Dalton.

The Living Daylights is easily top 5 all time, if not top 3, and Licence to Kill was also very memorable and edgy in an era where you had Bond dressed as a clown and riding in submarines disguised as icebergs.

And that's really all Dalton. He sold the "dangerous, unhinged" Bond better than anyone.

What's better? On Her Majesty's Secret Service or Goldfinger? I usually hear one of those two as being praised as the best.
Second question: anywhere I can get the entire set of all the bond films? I kinda wanna marathon them in release order.

Living Daylights is overrated here. Great first act, dismal villain.

License is actually a pretty great Bond film

>the namesh Bond. Jamesh Bond

they are on literally every torrent site ever

Anyone here read the books. I've got Casino Royale on hold right now and I'm sure they're good, I just want to know some anons' opinions if them.

An illegal american arms dealer (Whitaker) and russian general Koskov are friends and want to make money
Koskov makes Russia buy a huge amount of hight tech weapons from this dealer to fight the talibans
The russian army money is then transfered to Koskov as this is a non legal transaction.
Instead of sending the money directly to Whitaker in exchange for the weapons the money is used to buy diamonds in Amsterdam
The diamonds then go to Afghanistan to buy heroin from the talibans.
The heroin is then sold in America making huge profits.
The money will end up also buying weapons to Whitaker to kill the talibans.
This is their plan.
As general Pushkin suspects of Koskov, Koskov kills a 00 agent in Gibraltar and defects to Britain
He then tells the brits that Pushkin is the one killing the agents to make Bond kill Pushkin.
The plan blows as Bond discobers Whitaker was the one that bought the violin to Koskov girlfriend so he only pretends to kill Pushkin,
Also Koskov thought the MI6 agent would kill the KGB shooter (his girlfriend) but James doesn't do it cause she looks amateur.

I recently bought From Russia With Love. The movie basically follows it point for point. It was a good read though I enjoyed.

I also have a first edition of "For Your Eyes Only" which was my moms that she gave me. It's a collection of 5 short stories, all of which are really good. My favorite was Quantum of Solace, which has nothing to do with the movie and is actually a love story, and not something I expected from James Bond.

I have a few others but haven't read them in years. They are quick reads, but good.

My dick would get so hard if this happened.

>welsh bond stops pursuing the villian to shag a sheep

STOP GETTING BOND WRONG

Also a lot of the books are out of print, so using the library is a smart move.
